05/12/2025: Their delivery service is really bad like the delivery person was very rude and by the time he delivered my food it was cold , I wouldn’t recommend ordering from here because it’s a waste of money and the delivery is 10€ even tho they try charge you more in person

28/06/2026: I just rang to order a pizza. The guy on phone was extremely rude to me. Wouldnt take my order. Asking me stuipd silly questions then says im too busy to deal with you. First and last time to order from here. Horrible people. No way to treat customers. Im disgusted at how they spoken to me.

01/03/2026: I ordered a quarter aromatic duck from here yesterday and when I got home I was genuinely shocked to find it was completely burnt. The duck was black, dry, and so overcooked it was totally inedible. This wasn’t a case of it being slightly overdone, it was severely charred and should never have left the kitchen. What’s most concerning is that someone had to see the state of that duck before packaging it. There is no way the condition of it wasn’t obvious. Sending out food that badly burnt shows a serious lack of care, quality control, and basic standards. The other dishes I ordered were acceptable but entirely forgettable, and certainly not good enough to make up for the main item being inedible. I genuinely don’t understand how any chef or kitchen could knowingly put blackened, burnt duck into a carton and hand it to a paying customer. It suggests a complete disregard for both customers and the restaurant’s own reputation.

10/01/2026: Of the €40 spent, everything except rice and chips was burnt. Could not stomach majority of it. Straight in the nearest bin. Didn’t even get everything I ordered - I won’t be returning.

10/12/2025: As a loyal customer who is 'literally addicted' to Costa, I am deeply disappointed and will stop visiting. The poor customer service, where staff seem to only care up until the point of payment, has completely ruined the experience for me.

13/05/2026: I had an incredibly disappointing experience at this restaurant today with my wife and 4-year-old son. We arrived around 4:30 PM and were told they would open in 5 minutes. We were happy to wait and returned 20 minutes later. After being seated and waiting another 10 minutes, we ordered two keema naan, a chicken saag, and a raita. We weren’t looking for a massive feast, just a pleasant family meal. A few minutes after taking the order, the waiter returned stating his manager insisted we order at least one more side dish or they would not serve us. When we explained we weren't hungry enough for more food, they flat-out refused to take our order. It is baffling that a business would turn away a family with a young child over a forced "minimum side dish" rule that was never mentioned upfront. To be treated this way after waiting patiently for them to open is completely unprofessional and unwelcoming. If you are looking for hospitality or a stress-free family dinner, I would suggest looking elsewhere in Tallaght.

11/04/2026: Ordered the veg chow mein twice (just to be sure) in the last month, and they've changed the noodles and the sauce. Very sad, noodles are thick and the sauce has a ketchup taste. Ive always loved it but its not good now. Their curry sauce is lovely though, thank god that hasn't changed. The prices have also gone up a lot recently.

02/03/2026: Used to drop in there now and again over the years and it was ok. Then a few years ago it was being run by I'm not sure who but it was a trendy sort of bar and was very pleasant. The latest incarnation is however a slide down the scale from pleasant to ugggh. Visited the other day around 4pm. The table we sat at was not clean - sticky beer stains all over it; Its not like the place was so busy basic table management was not possible. I counted 11 other customers in the place Sat on a low stool (thankfully) and fell off leaving me on the floor - turns out the seat was not attached to the base - I mean seriously ‽ There are better places in the area to spend your money so don't waste it here.

24/06/2026: I missed this place so much. For a place the size of the square... you'd think there would be somewhere else decent to eat... but no... Esquires is the best food with the nicest staff... it was so badly missed... My son absolutely loves the waffles or pancakes too...

22/02/2026: Have ordered before from Spice Cottage and food was always great. But yesterday, we ordered two starters (onion baji and chicken pakura), both were soaking in grease and virtually inedible…we ordered one main (chicken tikka masala with Pilau rice), the rice was the best part!! The Nasn bread was soggy. Feels like a completely different takeaway/chef…reluctant to try again!!!

27/06/2026: Too stuffy and the food was mediocre at best. Half a lobster for 60 euros is insane. There were only 6 people in the restaurant and the waiters were still auctioning off the plates- how hard is it to keep the orders straight for a table of 2? Ordered an old fashioned for $15 and it was one ounce at best. Save your money and go elsewhere.

06/04/2026: Absolutely amazing experience here, the food was that good I ended up getting another 2 starters and dessert after already eating a starter and main course. Never done that before but couldn't help myself. I had the mussels, calamari and crab salad, main dish was the chefs special which consisted of lobster, prawns and scallops, for dessert I had the orange cheese cake. Everything was absolutely amazing! A fabulous selection of wines as well to top it off. Definitely would highly recommend to everyone as there are dishes on the menu which are not seafood and they do serve bottled beer. The service was absolutely tops, all the servers were so polite and attentive, cannot fault anything at all.

29/03/2026: Not very good. As a night-time starter, I ordered a vegetarian kebab, but it was overloaded with cream and mostly filled with onions instead of other vegetables. I didn’t order an onion kebab—I ordered a veg kebab. Not satisfied.

08/02/2026: Just this Friday i ordered cod and chips supper brought it home and to say I was shocked would be an understatement the cod was so small was like a fish finger was so over cooked it was literally like leather totally un eatable so dried out from being over cooked it was so dark in colour batter was discussing i just spat it back out chips were only fair peas were taken from a plastic container and heated in a microwave in front of me now to say this place is a chipper is a long stretch by no means is it worthy being called the same as other great ones around and also I nearly died with the price 14.50 the most expensive place iv been to for a fish supper ever and as I said it was like leather so bad do not waste your money

27/03/2026: My family are regulars and usually the service is great. The ladies there always treat us with such kindness. Today I was served by a man, who I presume is the owner. It was going alright until the card I was using wouldn't accept being tapped and needed to ring to get the pin. All was fine. I turn around to leave and I hear him talk about me before I even have the door fully open... "What was her deal on the phone" as if he was expecting me to magic up the money even though he was right in front of me when I said the words "What is the pin again?" down the phone.
