19/09/2026: The last 5 deliveries have gone to the wrong address. Food is deve. Service is terrible

17/09/2026: We regularly order 4-Star via Just Eat and we’re used to their delivery times being way off what’s indicated, but what I hadn’t bargained for was the change to their CYO pizza offerings; instead of getting the usual 4, the sauce and the cheese are now somehow part of the 4 toppings - meaning you only get 2 actual toppings… tight.

08/08/2026: We usually get Chicken Kebab takeaway from here. Its very good, highly recommended.

26/07/2026: Worst thai curry ever tasted.. Thai curry supposed to be thin, but this is very heavy. Absolute disaster . Waste of money and time

26/06/2026: The restaurant opens at 10am on Sunday morning, which is quite late to take a breakfast. We waited for it to open. The food is not fresh. We ordered a strawberry smoothie and when it finally arrived, it was brown ( most probably old and oxydised). The food quantity in the plate was small compared to the price paid. For example my partner took a breakfast with bacon and was served a mini slice of bacon. 1 only. After the meal, the whole family did not feel well ( digestive issues). The staff is ilunfriendly and careless. WiFi given for customers is not even working. Better not to offer WiFi than offer and not working. Never again.

04/06/2026: Extremely expensive. Served by a very rude worker. Asked for the WiFi code and was told it wasn't working. Food was lovely, but our 2 servers were rude. No smiles or eye contact made. Clean, but wouldn't return .

06/09/2026: Food was freezing when it arrived, and one of the subs was wrong. When I tried to ring to get them to send a new one there was no answer

06/07/2026: I just got a delivery and I put non toasted and they gave me stale bread.

03/06/2026: We stayed two nights with our two young children. We ate here both nights for dinner, and the food was great value. My only criticism would be not having a wine menu, but the wines were ok. We also ate breakfast twice. Seasonal and well prepared foods all around and the service is excellent. Proper hollandaise sauce on the eggs benedict, and those Wilmott sausages are the best I've had in Ireland. A huge shoutout to Evan who served us twice at breakfast. He provides impeccable service and went out of his way to accommodate us and our demanding almost-two-year-old daughter. But also everyone else was great. I would highly recommend staying at the hotel and eating here.

23/05/2026: One of the nicest dishes I’ve ever eaten!! I had the vegan sushi rolls and my husband had the chicken curry, both absolutely delicious ❤️❤️

16/08/2026: I think the reviews speaks for themselves, if you are thinking of coming here you are making a big mistake, the chips are dreadfull, hard lumpy mush with no seasoning, i asked for a chicken burger, they gave me just buns

27/06/2026: Ordered food asked for salt and vinegar didn’t get any ordered and paid for a garlic dip and didn’t get it either

05/06/2026: The food it okay, the workers are quite rude. Me and my boyfriend went in to get some food and they told us to leave and I noticed the managers whole family sitting down at the end of the row of booths. We were asking them why they were refusing us service as we just wanted some food but they refused to explain. I assume it’s ageism as me and my boyfriend are 14&15 but still tat is NOT okay and rude and actually lazy. Wouldn’t recommend going here and supporting that behaviour

07/09/2026: We were celebrating two special events. We have got takeaways from the Lotus in the past but decided we’d go to the restaurant this time to celebrate. I was really shocked how rundown and shabby the restaurant was. There are conference chairs in the majority of the restaurant now. I felt like I was in work. The lighting was glaring. There were no candles on the tables. The same one song was on repeat. We were barely acknowledged when we arrived. Two of the drink options were not available on the already scant wine list. We had our starters which were tasty. Then we waited 45 minutes after that for our mains which were fine. Many takeaway orders went out before we received our orders. Also we had to ask many times for basic things- another drink, another napkin, for our empty glasses to be cleared. The steam table to keep food warm is no longer a thing apparently. Neither are the after dinner mints. The staff seemed incredibly disinterested. The whole experience was nothing short of disappointing. I won’t be returning. As a Carlow native who grew up going to The Lotus for special family events this really saddens me. They need to improve on all levels DRAMATICALLY or I fear they won’t survive. It is incredibly overpriced for what you receive.

06/09/2026: The spice bag is well priced and the staff are friendly. The chips are extremely tasty too. But there isn't anywhere near enough chicken. Needs a lot more chicken tbh.

14/09/2026: I ordered on uber eats , it gave me the option of meeting driver at door or leaving food at door and an option for more information in the delivery note , I choose that option and added to not knock or ring the doorbell as people in my house were asleep and I was arriving home late , the driver ignored the note and continued knocking on the door until someone answered The beef was extremely fatty and tasted like jelly and not real beef and the chow mein over all lacked a lot of flavour compared to other Chinese takeaways I’ve had and the “beef “appeared to not be fully cooked I couldn’t eat the rest and it went to waste wouldn’t even feed it to my dog

10/09/2026: Chicken completely raw and extremely pink. Do not eat here

15/03/2026: I went back with my sandwich cause the bread was too hard. They changed it for me no questions asked and when I get home to open it they gave me 3 cookies. Excellent customer service!!! Thanks guys

11/09/2026: delivery driver ate all my food before it arrived. not even a prawn cracker to be spared

21/09/2026: Worst kebab shop I have ever been to. Chicken kebab. Some pieces of Chicken but I didn't taste nice at all. Quite cold. Chips overcooked. Definitely would not go back.

13/09/2026: I usually order the beef chow mein, comes with noodles, with a bit of extra garlic, chicken balls and chips and a tub of curry,I have never been disappointed, very nice.
