The best restaurants

06/07/2026: Cheap €9.95 lunch. The regular dish is a decent size for the price. The manager was nice enough to check on the guest mid meal like a standard restaurant, rather than a fast-food. Overall vibe and food was great. Recommend for a cheap but filling lunch bite.

16/07/2026: Very friendly service, helpful with allergies and intolerances. The kitchen staff went above and beyond to accommodate everyone. The quiche was very good, just a bit too much bacon. A very nice place with good service and delicious food.

13/07/2026: We celebrated day 2 of our wedding in L’Gueuleton’s bar. The setting is stunning on a sunny day. We ordered finger food, which everyone really enjoyed. Service was excellent. Special thanks to Alex for helping us organise this day in advance. Would highly recommend the bar area for a group celebration.

30/06/2026: horrendously rude man behind the counter!! I asked for oat milk, and he didn’t even wipe the milk frothing, so there was dairy in my coffee & I’m lactose intolerant. I got a take away coffee and it was far too hot!! The toilet for in horrendous condition, no hook to hang your bag, no mirrors and the toilet rolls were strun everywhere!! if I could give the place no stars, I would!

30/06/2026: Visited Gusto Italiano in Bray and had a great experience. The mocha was rich and smooth, the pistachio croissant was fresh and full of flavour, and the apple tart with cinnamon was really tasty. Everything was well made and enjoyable. A great stop for coffee and pastries.

12/07/2026: Read this was a popular sports spot in the city. Met expectations! Watched a World Cup quarter final. Busy spot with lots of movement. Screens left and right.

14/05/2026: We recently had a small 40th birthday party down in Jarrz and it was perfect. I was dealing with Suzanne via email beforehand to confirm and she was very helpful. We wanted somewhere with a good atmosphere, where we could get food and also watch the Arsenal match. It must be the best sports bar in Waterford at the minute with the sheer amount of screens and every single sports catered for. We had the match on in front of us, we ordered food down from Espresso and the bar staff were very good. There was also karaoke at the end of the night so our party were happy out!

06/01/2026: This place has to be one of the nicest meals I have ever eaten, their food is beyond delicious. The service leaves a lot to be desired- you won’t get a drink without approaching the bar yourself. Same if you want to order food, get the bill etc. you always have to go and find a member of staff. But other than that, they are very polite and friendly, so it’s not that big of a problem. Definitely worth the delicious food. Also love the variety on the menu.

05/08/2026: We were passing through the city and looking for a place to eat with a child. At first glance, the restaurant didn’t seem special, but the food turned out to be surprisingly delicious. The chicken in the Caesar salad had a subtle Middle Eastern spice twist, which didn’t spoil the dish at all — it actually made it unique. The chicken wrap and the pizza were also very tasty. Highly recommend.

02/08/2026: Toasted sandwich was dreadful. No white bread and no ham. The falafel was tasty, could do with s bit of sauce as it was a bit dry but the flavour was authentic. Coffee wasn't too bad.

16/07/2026: I had many problems woth them in the past but the new staff is lovely!

16/07/2026: There were five of us girls for lunch, and our food arrived quite quickly. The problem arose when we looked at the menu. There are only four toppings, and if you want extra bacon, you have to pay almost three euros more. A bit of a rip-off, to be honest. Zero variety and very cheap. We ordered all three types of fries to share, and we were right to do so because they were the only thing worth ordering; they were very good. The price of the burger was okay, but I want to emphasize that it wasn't anything special. The atmosphere was nice, not too noisy, and the waitress was very friendly.

10/07/2026: When I arrived at this establishment, I was extremely disappointed to not be met with any rocket-powered spacecraft. I was hoping to gain easy access to a method of transportation, but this was not even close to what I expected. However, the substances provided were... satisfactory. I suggest you serve some delicacies from Planet Zorb.

24/06/2026: Disappointed that this is the third time I’ve visited this Eddie Rockets to find out they’re either unexpectedly closed or not taking customers. We have been refused service due to what I could only assume is understaffing due to it being “too busy” yet many tables and booths seemed to be free. We have been previously disappointed by the abrupt change in closing times, which I find unusual to say the least - I feel that closing at 7PM every day other than Fridays and Saturdays makes no sense. Especially with the lack of food establishments in Arklow. Since Eddie Rockets changed their closing times, there are really no places to sit down and eat a substantial meal on this side of the town in the evenings. Now we have been refused service due to “electrical problems”, while other customers eat inside, music is playing and lights are on. I suspect this is due to another understaffing issue as I only was able to see one young girl working. It’s disappointing to say the least, as someone who generally enjoys visiting Eddie Rockets, I would visit more often if these problems didn’t arise and leave us hungry and searching for a new spot to eat (of which there are none, unless you fancy a sandwich for dinner from Starbucks or Dunnes). I also have had issues with their lack of acceptance of One4All gift cards. The One4All website states that Eddie Rocket accepts their gift cards, however while attempting to pay with this in the past, their card machine would not accept either of my two gift cards leaving me to pay out of my pocket. My One4All cards then worked at other establishments, so I am sure that they had the correct balance and enough to pay. Every time I’ve visited, the food has been tasty, the service quick and the staff have been polite with good service, so it is a shame to see it being let down by disorganised management. I hope to see positive changes in the future.
