The best restaurants

19/10/2025: Love, love, love the food served there. Sadly only managed to get to eat there once while we were on holiday in the area, as cafe seemed to be closed on other days we tried.

16/10/2025: Great food and spot on service. We had a small group with a couple of folks with food allergies. Staff was great and attentive. Highly recommend this location for your meals in Kinsale. burgers are huge ! Well prepared. Buddha salad was amazing and enough for two. All their hot toddies were delicious. Service was excellent and just the right amount of attention.

24/10/2025: The pastries were a little disappointing overall, especially given the high expectations we had after hearing so many great reviews. The almond croissant was quite sweet and didn’t have much almond flavour, it seemed to use a flavoured pastry cream rather than a traditional baked frangipane filling. The honey and sea salt croissant was our favourite of the selection, though we felt it could have been even better with a more distinct honey flavour. That said, the pastry quality itself was excellent, beautifully laminated with a lovely texture. Where things fell short for us was in the fillings and flavour combinations, which at times didn’t fully complement each other. For instance, in the Pain Suisse, the chocolate was quite bitter and overpowered the pastry cream, which wasn’t strong enough to balance it out. The banana bread had a pleasant texture and flavour, though we felt the addition of chocolate took away slightly from its simplicity. It’s clear that everything is made with great care, and the staff were both knowledgeable and welcoming. We did visit around midday, so it’s possible we missed some of their best items, as a number of products were already sold out. Overall, while the pastries weren’t quite to our personal taste, it’s easy to see why this bakery has such a strong reputation and we’d be open to returning to try other items in the future.

08/07/2025: Nos alojábamos en el castillo y decidimos cenar allí. Es difícil conseguir reservas incluso para los residentes, por lo que conviene reservar con antelación. Yo pedí trucha del Atlántico y mi compañero pidió solomillo. Pedimos un par de acompañamientos que también nos sirvieron en los platos. Afortunado. Ambos estaban realmente sabrosos. Lamentablemente no hay mucho de cada uno en el plato por el precio.

03/07/2025: Cenamos con amigos en el Dungeon. Nos lo pasamos todos genial. El personal de servicio fue eficiente y amable. Todos nuestros platos estaban deliciosos. Los precios, aunque caros, eran más razonables que los del restaurante George V del piso de arriba.

27/10/2025: ⭐☆☆☆☆ Extremely Disappointing Experience Honestly, one of the worst events I’ve ever attended. I paid 100€ for a ticket mainly to see the DJ, but it was impossible — the dance floor was tiny and dangerously overcrowded. There was no space to dance or even move comfortably. The bar service was awful, with endless queues and disorganized staff who clearly couldn’t handle the crowd. For the price, I expected at least a decent setup and some respect for the people attending. Overall, it was a disgraceful and poorly managed event — definitely not worth the money or the time.

04/10/2025: Salvador Dali theme cocktails- delicious, well crafted, and well priced. I love the ambience inside.

21/09/2025: Service was very slow took 30 mins to get our first cocktails. Then the waiter came around with only 30 mins left on our booking so we weren't confident we would get a second round in. Felt 1h45 is too short for 2 cocktails with the slow service.

19/10/2025: We are new Wicklow residents, this was our first time at Sparrows Nest and we were not disappointed. Excellent food, including Lamb Shank, which was tender and delicious and light and tasty tempura fish accompanied by a lovely French Rose. Our waitress, Alex, was extremely welcoming, friendly and efficient. The restaurant was busy, the atmosphere was warm and pleasant with a great buzz, but the front of house and kitchen staff were on the ball. We will definitely be back!

30/09/2025: Today we visited Wexford Coffée Roasters. Clean and tidy. Lots of visitors. Very cosy and atmospheric. Friendly owners who greet you with a smile. Definitely 10 stars. Highly recommended.

15/10/2025: Absolutely delicious gluten free food. Very accommodating to dietary requirements and food preferences. I chose the veggie sandwhich and they allowed me to swap falafel to chicken and have gluten free bread. It was delicious!! The brocoli and cauliflower soup was also lovely. Prices are reasonable and the staff were very good and friendly. Very good customer service. Highly recommend 100%.

09/10/2025: What a lovely spot, the food is deli-licious! Great quality food, quick service and good prices 🫶 The staff here are also wonderful, makes you feel right at home!

15/09/2025: Was here on a family visit from Galway. Saturday of last week had the chicken Ballantine and fondant potatoes the fondant potatoes were amazing couldn't fault them. There was a Brussel leak white sauce under the Ballantine never had anything like it before was gorgeous will return again. Serves and staff was amazing too 😃

14/09/2025: Fabulous location friendly staff but food let it down. Three of us had to send back our meals as they were like warm and fondant potatoes tasted as though reheated several times dry and nothing like any other we've tasted. The forth person in the party was left to eat their meal on their own and had virtually finished by the time ours arrived. Not the scenario one expects when going out to lunch with friends. Very disappointed that the staff did not address this.

04/08/2025: Delicious ramens, relaxed and kind service. The decorations give a bit of a Japanese atmosphere. Excellent place, would recommend them from the bottom of my heart! Thank you very much! ♥️

27/07/2025: Sushi was good. However, Ramen did not taste nice, broth had no flavour, beef was not fresh. The waitress said she will tell the chef but no commercial gesture, nothing was done. Edit (Reply to owner): I did finish the broth as I hate wasting food and I was very hungry. However, please bear in mind the beef tasted almost rotten. No attempt was made by the staff to fix the issue. We will not be back. Your reply is unprofessional given the experience we had.

19/07/2025: Our B&B host recommended this place to us, and we were very happy we went there. It was very busy, but the staff worked hard and we got served quite quickly. The food was great, as was the atmosphere. Plus, as always outside of Dublin, we were nicely surprised by the prices 😉

25/10/2025: I've passed through Trim quite literally hundreds of times and never knew of the existence of The Coffee Works. It was just a fiat white and a scone, but it was a good flat white and a good scone. I'll be back.

23/10/2025: Regularly closes earlier than advertised without a consistent time! Outdoor seating only. Has a street food vibe but it's mostly coffees and snacks!

06/10/2025: I have visited Peploe's many times and the service, food and premises are always excellent. I had to move a booking from 8.30pm to 9pm last weekend due to a taxi being 45mins late. The staff were so helpful and accommodating. I couldn't have asked for more. After arriving flustered, I was made feel at home and the service was so good and friendly that I was put at my ease and turned a potentially stressful evening it to on of the nicest I have had in a long time. Thank you to all at Peploe's.
