Finally ! real, edible tacos in Limerick! I’ve been seriously disappointed with the Mexican food scene here for a long time.
Had tacos from a food truck before and those tacos were terrible, clearly tailored to local tastes rather than authentic flavors.
But this new spot at Sambros total game changer.
Proper tacos with good quality meat, fresh ingredients, and actual flavor. You can taste the authenticity in every bite. So glad to see Limerick finally getting it right when it comes to Mexican food. Highly recommend!

The Mariner

06/11/2025: The Mariner is a nice pub, I dropped in during the late afternoon after being out and about and caught a local football game on one TV and a rugby union game on the other. The staff were good craic, very polite and helpful, the service was excellent and the Guinness was delicious. Well worth the visit.

They have all cakes homemade and taste delicious 🤤 we tried Cajun chicken wrap and was just spot on ! ❤️ Cupcakes were amazing 🤩 Anna is the cutest person serve us very quickly and with big smile 🥰 her lattee was perfect 😍 we enjoyed everything and can't wait to be back !

13/10/2025: Food was amazing, big portions. However, service wasn't the best. We were there at 7.30 and even though it closes at 11pm, we felt unwelcome to stay with staff ignoring our tables and having to be called over to take the orders. While having a full bar, no option of cocktail orders. They felt like they were just counting down the people to leave. The only person who seemed welcoming was a dark haired lady who came up to our table a few times to check on us, but the younger staff kept ignoring unless we called them over..
Husband had scampi and was sick following day..

27/07/2025: Found this bar on a trip up the River Shannon. We decided to go up the River Suck randomly and check out the town for the night. John was an amazing host, great bar and a beautiful town. Highly recommend a visit!

I‘d love to come back there someday, I had a tremendous Time there.
Prices for Beer are also very fair

29/08/2025: Went in and tried to order in Irish (I’m told it was correct, just perhaps timid). Irish bartender clearly understood me but acted confused and switched to English. My vegetarian partner even had me get a stew for her so I could use the word “stobhach”. Bar tender then said “go raibh maith agat” at the end. Pitiful in a Gaeltacht. Made me feel completely disheartened and discouraged.

08/07/2025: Probably a good spot after shopping, the terasse is convenient. You don't come for the surroundings. What put me off is the price of the coffee and for that it's going to be the first and last time. 4.10€ for a cappuccino and 4.70€ for a non dairy (yeah I'm lactose intolerant not a fancy dub)
It's the price you'd pay in London. As far as I can see Monaghan is far from being London. Now if it's because of the rent, it's a shame. Anyway too expensive (4.5€ a piece of cake... )

21/10/2025: Dropped in for lunch and grabbed a sandwich — it was honestly class, really fresh and tasty. Coffee’s always great here too. Staff are sound, and the tall girl with brown hair was especially polite and had a lovely smile. Proper nice spot, definitely one of my favourites around
