Rosspoint
Glenbeigh
07/12/2024: Rossbeigh Bar in Glenbeigh, County Kerry, holds a special place in my heart. For as long as I can remember, it has been a family and friends' favourite spot, a place where we have gathered for good food, great drinks, and even better company. Over the years, this charming pub has become more than just a place to grab a pint—it’s a cherished part of my memories, and I continue to visit every time I return to the beautiful village of Glenbeigh.
A Warm Welcome
One of the things I love most about Rossbeigh Bar is the warmth of the welcome. From the moment you step through the door, you’re greeted with friendly smiles and an atmosphere that feels like home. The staff are always attentive, quick with a laugh, and eager to make sure you feel comfortable. It’s the kind of place where, whether you’re a regular or a newcomer, you’re treated like part of the family. This welcoming atmosphere has kept me coming back over the years, and it’s one of the reasons why Rossbeigh Bar stands out in the area.
The Food: Simple, Delicious, and Always Fresh
Rossbeigh Bar has a fantastic food menu that has never disappointed me, no matter what I’m in the mood for. Over the years, I’ve enjoyed everything from hearty traditional Irish dishes to lighter fare, always knowing that the ingredients are fresh and prepared with care. The seafood here, in particular, is exceptional. Being located near the coast, the pub takes full advantage of the fresh catch of the day, offering delicious fish dishes that reflect the best of Kerry’s coastal produce. The fish and chips are a personal favourite—crispy, perfectly cooked, and always served with a generous portion of tartar sauce.
Aside from the seafood, the traditional Irish dishes, like stew and lamb, are comforting and flavorful. There’s nothing like sitting by the fire with a hearty plate of food after a long day of exploring the stunning scenery around Glenbeigh. The portions are always generous, and the meals are filling, making it the perfect place to refuel after a day of hiking, beach walking, or taking in the sights of the Ring of Kerry.
The Atmosphere: Perfect for Socializing
Rossbeigh Bar has a cozy, inviting atmosphere that makes it the ideal place to relax and unwind. Whether you're popping in for a quiet drink with friends or enjoying a lively evening with family, the pub never fails to provide a space where people can come together. The interior is traditional, with wooden beams, a warm fire, and friendly chatter that fills the air. It's the kind of place where you can easily strike up a conversation with locals or fellow travelers, making it a great spot for meeting new people and soaking in the authentic Irish pub experience.
The pub also regularly hosts live music, and the atmosphere is always vibrant when the local musicians perform. There’s nothing quite like enjoying a pint while listening to traditional Irish tunes or contemporary hits in the heart of Kerry. It’s a true reflection of the local culture, and it always makes my visit to Rossbeigh Bar that much more enjoyable.
A Place for All Occasions
What makes Rossbeigh Bar so special is that it’s a place for all occasions. Whether you're looking for a casual pint with friends, a family meal, or a celebratory drink, the pub accommodates every need. It’s also an excellent spot for tourists, offering a taste of the authentic Kerry experience in a relaxed setting. Whether it’s your first time in Glenbeigh or your hundredth visit, Rossbeigh Bar always delivers an unforgettable experience.

Courthouse
Kinlough
31/12/2024: I was fortunate to find this hidden Gem in Leitrim, It was very impressive to be given the option of smaller and larger plates, a great selection. I sampled the Baba Ghanoush and the Venison, much to my liking.
The service was second to non as with the presentation. Unfortunately I didn’t stay in the rooms this time, will leave that for next time. The wine choice was super. Look forward to coming back soon.

13/02/2025: Very good food. You have few options on the menu and many are with chicken but the food is very good. Wines also very good. Family and quiet atmosphere.
I hope they give us the chance to eat there for a long time.
09/02/2025: Food was freezing it was thrown in to the bag so everything was leaking in top of each other. The cost if it was a fortune will never eat out of here again terrible

The Thatch Bar & Restaurant
Glenties
10/02/2025: Travelling through Glenties, Co. Donegal, my wife, myself and Ruby, our Cockapoo dog stopped at The Thatch where we enquired about Sunday Lunch. As we are only too well aware ‘Dog Friendly’ premises are few and far between in many parts of Donegal. No problem to the Thatch, they were more than kind welcoming to us all. We had an excellent Lunch, I had the Special, Lamb Tikka Masala, Rice and Chips, with a Nann Bread, which was specially made with No Garlic, my wife had Asian Salmon, with Asian Salad and Fries - The food was all of Hotel Standard, better than many of the Hotels we have eaten in. Roisin, who was in charge and Nadeen who served us were most attentive, they could not have been nicer. In addition we had wanted to watch the Ireland v Scotland Rugby Match, again no problem. Before finishing my wife went for the Berry Crumble which was delicious ! We will not drive past The Thatch again - the place is well worth visiting, loved it ! To the owners, your Staff are well worth holding onto, they are a worthy addition to your business, oh and hold on to the Chef 👍
17/01/2025: Well worth a visit, excellent food and friendly service

The Ramen Bar
Dublin
11/02/2025: Exceptional food. Simply delicious.
11/02/2025: If you're craving authentic ramen, The Ramen Bar is the place to go. I've tried ramen all over, and their tonkotsu is easily the best I've had in Ireland. The noodles are cooked to perfection, and the broth is incredibly flavorful.
Don't miss out on their starters either - they're a great way to begin your meal. My only advice is to be mindful of portion sizes with the starters, as you'll definitely want to save room for the main event!

Dooley's Hotel
Waterford
11/02/2025: We visited Hotel February bank Holiday to watch game and have meal. The staff were so friendly and helpful. Food was excellent
and place spotless. Will definitely return.
07/02/2025: Back when I was working in the city center, 'The New Ship Restaurant' at Dooley’s Hotel became my go-to spot for lunch. It was the perfect place to escape the workday rush for a bit, grab a good meal, and just enjoy a relaxed atmosphere.
The staff there were always super friendly and welcoming, making sure everything ran smoothly. Even when it was busy, the service was quick and efficient, so I never had to stress about getting my food in time. Speaking of food, I really loved their soup of the day - always fresh, flavorful, and served with delicious bread. But honestly, everything I tried was tasty, well-prepared, and served fast enough to fit perfectly into my one-hour break.
Another small but important detail? The place was always spotless, including the restrooms, which were easy to find and well-maintained - something you don’t always think about until it’s a problem, but here, it never was.
Looking back, I really appreciated having a spot like this where I could take a break, enjoy some good food, and just unwind for a bit. If I ever find myself back in Waterford, I’ll definitely be stopping by again!

Brennan's
Monasterevan
30/12/2024: always been a great pub to visit for the crack 😀 👍
15/12/2024: Guinness was great, even under duress! Adam and all the staff were friendly, outgoing, welcoming, to everyone. Historical, old school, vibe, think Athy Clancys's of Monasterevin with a Doyle's pint, but without the cheese! Sorry, Adam!

O Mahony' s bar
Manorhamilton
13/11/2024: Love this bar. It is a very well run bar where the owner will not accept any underage drinkers or any one who has clearly had too much to drink. All in all this is what makes your drinking time there a very enjoyable experience. 10/10 to the bar staff for making it a comfortable and pleasant place to go.
10/09/2024: An old fashioned pub which are in danger of disappearing. Only popped in for one drink but it had a lovely atmosphere.
