17/12/2024: Stunningly beautiful food, georgous atmosphere and the cocktails are the best I have ever had. This is one of the top restaurants.
07/08/2024: I enjoyed an excellent dinner choosing the tagliatelle with shrimp and lobster, it was really very good, the pudding for dessert was very tasty, special mention for the very professional waiter for his young age.

19/02/2025: A great supermarket with lots of options, particularly for fresh food. They have a bakery where you can order birthday cakes and they are so fresh. They also have a hot & cold deli, butcher counter and fresh fish counter. They sell and fill helium balloons and serve ice cream cones. They have customer toilets, baby changing and a cafe. Across the car park they also have a gorgeous homewares store filled with bedding, curtains, kitchenware, gifts, ornaments, ladies hosiery, handbags, children' clothes and baby gifts.

Hunter's Hotel

20/01/2025: One of my favourite places to visit in Wicklow, whether just to stop in for a stroll around the charming gardens and have a pot of tea and a warm, freshly baked scone with jam, butter, and cream, or have a celebratory family luncheon. A place of immense atmosphere that brings you to another time, it is like a portal to a world that barely exists anymore, with fantastic, kind, and sometimes wonderfully comic staff that could be straight out of a Flann O'Brien novel... it's no wonder this place attracts writers and painters and artists of all kinds who use the rooms and grounds for peace, good conversation, and inspiration. The food is delicious and they grow many of the ingredients they use on their land. Visit Hunter's to have an experience you are unlikely to receive in any other modern, fashionable Irish destination hotel or resort. A truly one of a kind place, untouched by time. Long may it be so.

Saratoga

14/12/2024: Arrived to a freezing cold room, the bathroom including the toilet are actually in the bedroom which is extremely uncomfortable. The carpet was filthy and the control for the shower didn’t work , the water was freezing. The breakfast was bland and there was very little choice. Can’t imagine where the high rating came from. The noise from the smoking area went on until 2am and it was extremely loud as it was right outside the window. A spot light also shined into the window so it was like daylight all night.
07/12/2024: Located on the beach in Woodstown, it is a lovely pub for a stop off for a drink or after a walk on the beach. Food is good and staff are friendly. Accomodation is also available.

Hungry Knight

Sneem
19/02/2025: The Hungry Knight in Sneem is a fantastic place for a delicious and satisfying meal. The food is absolutely amazing, with fresh ingredients, generous portions, and rich flavors that make every dish stand out. Whether you're stopping by for breakfast, lunch, or dinner, you won’t be disappointed. One of the best things about this restaurant is the excellent variety of vegetarian options. Unlike many places where vegetarian dishes feel like an afterthought, The Hungry Knight offers well-prepared, flavorful choices that are just as satisfying as the rest of the menu. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and the service is exceptional. The manager (or owner) is an incredibly kind and helpful person. He went out of his way to assist us during the evening, making sure we had everything we needed. We are truly grateful for his kindness and hospitality. Overall, The Hungry Knight is a must-visit if you're in Sneem. With fantastic food, great vegetarian options, and outstanding service, it’s a place we highly recommend!
28/10/2024: Tasteless chips and only about 9 of them plus sold prawns as scampi. All this for 15 euros. Total rubbish

Hellfire

Dublin
09/03/2025: Located in the heart of Dublin, this restaurant serves a mix of traditional and fusion food. The food is excellent, as is the service. I don't give it 5 stars for the sole reason that I think the prices are excessively high!
09/03/2025: If you're looking for an overpriced and underwhelming dining experience, this is the place to be. We visited on Tuesday, March 4th, to celebrate a friend’s birthday. We had informed the restaurant in advance about the occasion and were prepared for the high prices, assuming they would reflect quality. Unfortunately, that was far from the case, nor did they acknowledge our friends celebration. Upon arrival, we were told our table wasn’t ready as the previous guests were still settling their bill. We were asked to come back in five minutes, though the hostess could have offered us a more comfortable waiting area. We returned after 10 minutes and were seated at a cramped table for four. While we were determined to enjoy the evening, the lack of space was noticeable, especially given the premium prices. The menu was as expensive as expected, but we were hopeful the food would justify the cost. The waiter was friendly and attentive, and the ambiance of the room was pleasant, though the seating was tight and the tables far too small for the price point. At over €50 for a steak and chips, one would expect a more luxurious and spacious setting. The starters were a mixed bag. The Burrata (€16.50) was decent, the Ceviche (€15) was beautifully presented and delicious, and the Scallops (€18) were flavourful. However, the Prawns (€15) were underwhelming - just three semi-shelled prawns in a watery broth. The mains, unfortunately, were where things fell apart. The lamb chops (€45) were ordered well done but arrived rare, with the server insisting the blood on the plate was a "sauce", they were also cold. After sending them back, they returned properly cooked and hot, but the initial experience was disappointing. My friends ordered rib eyes (€38 each) with fried eggs (an extra €4.50 per steak). The eggs were cold, and the steaks, ordered medium, came out medium rare. They were tough, stringy, and lukewarm. The truffle chips (€7) were the highlight of their meal, but at €48 per plate (including sauce and chips), the value was sorely lacking. My fillet steak (€45) was ordered medium to well but arrived rare, with blood pooling on the plate. The accompanying chimichurri sauce was unappetising, and I didn’t touch the padrón peppers. The skinny fries (€5.50) tasted like cheap, oily frozen fries. I left half the steak uneaten, not wanting to make a scene, I did not raise the issue with the waitron, as the pooling blood had turned me off my meal. But at €50.50 for a subpar meal, I felt thoroughly cheated. When the waiter cleared the table, he asked if everything was okay with his usual smile. I responded honestly that it wasn’t, but he nodded and said, “That’s great,” as if I’d praised the meal. I had to stop him and reiterate the issues, to which he replied he’d speak to the manager. Nothing came of it. The final bill came to €345.50, including every item we ordered. We chose not to leave a tip, as the overall experience left us feeling completely ripped off. While we frequently dine in the Temple Bar area, we will not be returning to Hellfire.
