09/02/2025: Food was freezing it was thrown in to the bag so everything was leaking in top of each other. The cost if it was a fortune will never eat out of here again terrible

24/01/2025: I made an order today at 6.13 and it didnt arrive till 7.45 i rang twice and was told twice it was on the way which it never came when it did arrive the food was stone cold missing fried rice i ordered i was going to call back but we waited that long we couldnt wait any longer noone was happy wit how cold the food was no apoligies for the delay nothing im really not happy about this and hope something will be done to at least say sorry or try make up for the stone cold food

06/02/2025: Visited here on a cold December day. Had the fish in batter and chips. The food was amazing, fresh fish in batter and skinny chips. Really tasty. Will be back again soon

28/01/2025: it's honestly surprising to find such a good asian joint in mountrath of all places. nice interior, great service, very honest prices for ireland and the food was quite good, certainly much much better than the average asian joint in ireland. may visit again in the near future.

23/01/2025: I am preparing a travel guide on the Wild Atlantic Way so I went into the Castle hotel for Chef Elaine's Chicken Curry. Ordered it for 2 and requested it to be extra hot and spicy. Not only was not extra hot and spicy, Elaine's Chicken curry was barely warm. I mentioned it to Renata, who was the waitress who took the order but she was too tired and really couldn't careless, (In the Castle customers really don't matter. I am just someone to extract money out of to pay wages). I asked for extra crushed chilli's so I had to prepare the food that I was paying the Castle Hotel to do, but obviously Elaine wasn't interested in her signature dish, (why put your name to something if your not going to stand over it?). It was served with rice and my colleague had half chips and half rice. For desert I had Pecan Pie, in contrast to the one I had two nights previous, this was just a bear piece of pie in a bowel like plate, with no cream or ice cream. I called the waiter and had to correct him and remind him as how it was listed on the Menu in comparison has to how it was now being served. In conclusion the standard of food and service I received 2 nights previous was better, and that is why I returned to have that experience again, instead I was left feeling I was more of an inconvenience for ordering what was actually on the menu. When it came to paying the bill I got charged €2.00 extra for the half rice, half chips portion with the meal, what a scam!!! Next time I'm in Macroom I going to the Chinese down the street, why should I spend hundreds of euros in the Castle hotel when the interest in the Customers by the front line staff, the Chef and the management has ceased to exist. ***NEWSFLASH*** The Castle has fallen.

11/01/2025: I thought the restaurant was lovely however i thought supplement were a bit much for the steaks went for the jan special 70 for two and no steak on it i hadnt lkd at menu but tht name ribeye steakhouse steak would be on it ended up going for surf and turf 42 euros and wine 10 euros which i tht was expensive wkouldnt go back

08/01/2025: Visited with my 21yr old hungry son for a mid week early bird 2 course steak dinner. Both had starters and then 10 oz rib eyes medium rare. Both steaks were so grisly you could hardly get them cut, accompanied by 2 small frozen packeted onion rings and half tomato with tiny pot of sauce, thats it. Small tub of over cooked skinny fries were 6.5 euro extra. Two early bird, two course dinners, 1 beer for 100 euro. Absolute joke, don't make the same mistake I made and read the reviews before entering.

09/02/2025: Food has been disappointing the last couple of times iv been. The prawns don't taste fresh, and are over cooked. The beef was also very dry. Honestly all the food is under seasoned and is lacking in spice. The Thai green curry has little to no spice. Such a shame as I use to enjoy the food but unfortunately it's been consistently disappointing for a while now.

11/12/2024: Nice restaurant with good food and service. Sadly there was nobody else there this night, probably because of the weather, so it lacked atmosphere but we will go back another night.

19/01/2025: Sunday lunch 2 roast beef dinners. More quantity than quality. Roast beef very poor quality tough and tasteless. Must say the waitress was very efficient and apologetic.
