28/12/2025: I was really looking forward to trying the steak tartare at BlackThorn as this dish is for me a true indicator of a restaurant’s quality. Unfortunately, it was a huge disappointment. Visually, it was promising: the meat was nicely chopped and well presented with onion and pickles. The problem appeared with the very first bite — the entire dish was completely dominated by horseradish. I couldn’t taste the meat, the onion, or any sense of balance at all. The horseradish overwhelmed everything else. Additionally, the texture of the meat was watery, giving the impression that it had been quickly defrosted and served immediately without proper preparation. When it comes to steak tartare, this is unfortunately disqualifying. It’s a real shame, because my expectations were high and the potential of the dish was completely wasted.

17/09/2025: Lovely breakfast here, food is top notch. Seating can be hard to find when it's busy. Nice children's play area by the toilets. Facilities are very clean and staff is are nice

22/03/2026: Very average food. Onion bhaji and naan were burnt. Sauces were bland and unseasoned. Rice and naan also very bland, no seasoning. Cocktail was nice. Overall overpriced and underwhelming. Staff were nice enough but I wouldn't be back in a hurry, South Dublin has far superior Indian restaurants on offer

04/02/2026: The delivery lady is a diamond 💎. Food always there to Santry Cross to my wife and I in 'no time at all'. Compared to all chipper and take outs in the area - there is no comparison. All the people are always helpful and the place is spotless . My first job was in a Abra-Kebara so I know ,"clean and well run take-outs and restaurants", when I see them.

01/02/2026: Food was really good and very reasonably priced ( we had taste of ireland menu and kids menu ) but waiter service and gaps between ordering food and drinks was shocking . We arrived at 5.30 and left just before 8 without having a chance to order desert . Whatever it is about the Ivy formula they just can’t crack it in Dublin .

01/02/2026: We went to The Ivi yesterday an even having a reservation they made us wait in the bar and they offered us a drink (not complementary). Clearly they cannot manage properly the reservation because every single table was sent to the bar for some time. The atmosphere is nice but too loud, more like a pub vibe. The food is okeish. Apart from the creme brulee nothing memorable at all. When finished we were offered a complementary glass of prosecco but the maitre couldn't wait us to finish it and demand us to leave the table and move again to the bar to finish it. So they were complementing us for the misunderstanding and literally 3 minutes later kicking us out. This is not at all the level of service I was expecting.

25/07/2025: Sag aloo is amazing. Peshwari naan is great but much sweeter than it usually is, so depends on your preference. Dal tarka is a bit spicy for me but the flavour is really nice.

03/05/2025: The drinks were nice, but I had to collect my coffee myself. Although it was ready, no one called me to pick it up, and I waited a long time while the staff were busy chatting among themselves. I can understand if the coffee shop operates on a self-service basis, but at the very least, customers should be notified when their order is ready. Instead, the drinks were left sitting there and ended up being cold. If you don’t check for yourself, they’ll just leave it there. Overall, not a good experience.

24/04/2025: Very comfortable, to study and relaxation

14/10/2025: Arrived an hour before closing to a not very warm welcome. Were served in to go cups. Filter coffee was cold. The coffee was good however. The tart also served cold but maybe that's a thing.

22/02/2026: Met a stunning young thing called Rhea working there in the basement coat check . Very polite . Music was not for me so left early . Drinks superb bartender great and fast . I didn’t have any food . The crowd was very rowdy and no security personnel in the basement .

15/02/2026: We booked the kareoke booth and had a few issues but Rosheen was so accomodating and sorted it straight away, 10/10 for Rosheen

30/01/2026: filled with people who clearly love their job. food was made with love and artistry other than the king rat colony circling my seat and snarling it was clean and comfy.
