09/03/2026: Bang average. Generous portion of chips but these are not the chunky ones from potatoes. Fish was average as was the food. Service was good. Pleasant staff

26/09/2025: I live about 5 miles away out of the dozen in the same radius this is by far the best takeaway. Good food and great service. They Answer the phone even when busy, get the order right, in at most 15-20 min & the food is good. An excellent chipper all round. Keep up the good work.

31/05/2025: Wonderful local ‘chipper’ spotlessly clean with friendly hard working staff. The food was excellent with generous portions. I had Southern fried chicken , chips and chilli sauce, excellent. But the highlight was the smiling friendly staff. It is worth going in just to see the pizza ladies smile, Rosalia I think was her name. I will be ordering Pizza next time 😁

22/11/2025: Nice food, reasonable value We sat in for this meal and were put in the back with just ourselves and a little kid (one of the family I imagine) doing his homework - nothing wrong with that, but a little background music would have added a bit of atmosphere. But that's just the minor criticism, the food was excellent and we're glad we found this place. Seeing as options are limited in Castleconnell this is a good gem to find. If in the area again I would gladly return.

02/11/2025: Edited as it's my second day in a row getting this. The food is absolutely top notch and some of the most reasonably priced food around with amazing taste! They even do a vegan beef burger which is so so nice and the curry and satay dishes I've had are also 10/10! Staff are friendly too so 10/10 to the staff as well!

23/10/2025: Rude reception. Got burger and chips with no sachet sauce. I had in a takeaway but was waiting for someone to pick me up when I decided to check my bag and have a few chips. But she yelled ‘u can’t eat here!’ I didn’t order for dine in. All I wanted was to sit for few minutes while waiting for my pickup. Why should a food service be unwelcoming? I didn’t have appetite to eat my food after such rudeness.

01/12/2025: We used Saba Catering for a party for 30 people recently and had a fantastic experience. The food was lovely and the service offered was exemplary. I will definitely use them again.

12/11/2025: Ordered for delivery, best pad Thai I’ve ever ordered at home. The chicken was real breast, tasted super fresh. Large portion, not the cheapest takeaway but I was very happy with the quality. Definitely getting it again. Came piping hot. Delicious!

13/03/2026: First and last time I’ll order from this place. Food arrived 15 minutes late and was cold. I could see from the app that the driver had the order in his car for over 40 minutes so no chance of it actually arriving hot. A complete waste of money, poor quality and cold food, I won’t be ordering from them again.

03/03/2026: Excellent food really well done. Way above average. The vindaloo tasted perfect with real flavours of vinegar and spice as it should be. Not just a load of chilli powder. Highly recommended.

09/02/2026: Restaurant is dated and dirty. Toilets had poop on the wall. The food was served quickly and pulled out on a hideous black noisy trolley. I was warned the vindaloo was hot. It lacked any heat and more importantly flavour. The jalfreze had more flavour but still very poor. The pilau rice was tasted like plain basmati with zero flavour of the aromats associated with pilau rice. The garlic naan was ok. Overall a very poor experience and by far the worst Indian restaurant I've been to in Ireland so far. Bland would be the only word I could use to describe the experience

28/07/2025: Came to Cork to watch Michael McIntyre @ The Marquee. There was a food hall called The Black Market near the venue so we went there. We needed either vegetarian or a halal food. There was a smash burger place which we really wanted to try but there were no burgers left, the burger stall directed us to Dips. We were not disappointed. We ordered a Korean chicken dish, 2 x Malaysian chicken noodles and a beef curry. The food was fantastic. Good portion sizes and was very tasty. The service was fantastic. Good variety of dishes to choose from. A touch expensive but feel Cork is an expensive place. Highly recommend.

15/07/2025: The Massaman curry was very good and I did expect that considering the crew are from Malaysia. Other items are good as well and the seafood seemed fresh. One thing I did not like is the serving bowls, it is quite hard to eat from it. Hope they can change it to something tried and tested. Overall would recommend for east Asian food in the black market.

22/12/2025: Waited for over 5 min while 2 staff members walked by the counter ignoring people wating. When Deliveroo driver came in he was seen to. I was then ignored while the gentleman who came in after me was served. 0 stars, no atmosphere or customer service.

13/12/2025: This was my 4th takeaway from Lana Tramore. The staff are superb and so nice on the phone. The sauces and veg are just amazing. However the chicken is tough. This has been the same experience for all 4 times. It is an awful shame because everything else is perfect. Sadly this is my last time because after 4 tries you would think that the issue would be solved. This is the basic of expectations. Best wishes.

26/08/2025: Worked a 12 shift today …..had no food was really Hungary…..I tried this place ….had fish and chips…….it was shocking …..has to be the worst fish I’ve eaten on 3 continents….had a strange taste off the fish…….the chips were ok……..one bite of the fish and I knew it was going to be consigned to the dustbin where it belongs………don’t attempt to try the fish at this place…..

11/11/2025: No functioning toilets !! But the coffee machine was working!!! Go figure!!!

24/10/2025: they do not even deserve 1 star. We , along with our friends visited this spar on our way to Donegal. The lady in the payment counter was really rude and racist with us . We bought some food from there and was waiting for our friends to come back from washroom and this lady came and told that dont cross this line , even when we were staying in a distance. Such persons do not deserve to be in customer service . This incident happened today on 24th oct 2025 after 9.30pm.

26/12/2025: Staff are lovely but unfortunately food was disappointing. Chips were soggy and you could tell they’re frozen not fresh, the pizza had so much cheese on it and barely any sauce. And as well as that the restaurant was freezing with no heating on and the door consistently open. Hopefully some improvements can be made from this.

17/12/2025: Best curry in Castlebar in the most unlikely place. It is a humble premises with formica tables and minimum fuss. The lamb is tender and plentiful, they can really up the ante with spice levels and the naan breads are great. You can see the cooks do it all on front of you. Go for it. You won't be diappointed here.
