The best restaurants

04/12/2025: My partner and I had heard about this cafe on Facebook so we thought we'd pop in on the way from Donegal down to Meath (we live in Donegal, he grew up in Ballyconnell, and the parents live in Kells,so we thought we'd pop by). It was very disappointing. The Food is 1* at best. "home-made" means "heated up in-store"... It's all processed (minus the cakes which seem to be freshly made). The waiting staff are very un-enthusiastic (bar one woman whose name I think was Annette or Anita.... She seemed to be genuine). The rest behave like they don't want to be there. It seems if you are a friend of the owner you'll be smothered in love, otherwise, you'll be ignored and the un-enthusiastic girls will be left to deal with you. The coffees and cakes are the only redeeming factors, but I'm very disappointed by my experience. We would have had more flavour if we'd waited to get McDonald's 20 minutes down the road.

21/11/2025: Absolutely loved my visit to this café! The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, and the staff are incredibly friendly and attentive. My order came out quickly, and everything tasted fresh. I’ll definitely be coming back.

21/01/2026: Food is good but on our last few orders was barely any Cantonese sauce on my duck, so ended up being very dry, bit disappointing. Shouldn't be for that price!

06/12/2025: A combination of Asian best. You can find Thai, Malay, Hong Kong, and pan-asian cuisine in this place! Superb taste! Jalan Jalan brings Galway closer to Southeast Asia than ever! Highly recommended!

29/10/2025: Very icy staff constantly bickering at each other. Saw rats around back of shop with open door!!! If you have any self respect, avoid this over priced deli counter. There's a spar down the road that does a nicer munch for a quarter of the price

08/11/2025: Sorry to leave a bad review as usually the food is nice and fresh. We order today when the restaurant opened and got hard chips , stale batter sausages , chicken wrap with dried out goujans. I was so disapointed as the food is usually fresh but my order was definitely reheated food from day before . Very disapointed with the quality of food as it is usually fresh but not today.

25/10/2025: Portion sizes are great, delivery is fast enough but at times has been abit on the colder side, but the major fail and it seems its not limited to Giulio's is the fact the staff in chippers these days seem to have lost the ability to put salt and vinegar on the chips unless your standing in front of them reminding them salt and vinegar please. Even stating in the comments when ordering online extra salt and vinegar results in you guessed it..no salt and vinegar.

25/06/2025: Great pub with enjoyable vibrance from live music and pleasant surroundings. Nice dart and pool table with outdoor beer garden accommodation. Recommended for an authentic Irish pub experience!!

31/12/2025: Fantastic location but poor value for money. €494.60 for 2 nights (with parking), 2 guests. On arriving to our first room we called reception as it was no bigger than a box room. Only a double bed and very little room to move. We were given a bigger room. However despite having the radiator on full and an extra plug in radiator on constant for the duration of our stay, our room was uncomfortably cold. Within two minutes of the shower running the bathroom gets flooded. We used bath towels to block the flow out towards the door. We found the bar and restaurant quite cold also. Despite staying during the middle of the festive season there was no real atmosphere in the hotel. The bar was almost empty. When we returned with 3 friends to the bar at approx 9.30 on Sunday night we were told that we couldn't order Irish coffees because the coffee machine was off. We left and went to another bar nearby. Despite phoning enroute to ask about parking, we were not told of the closest/cheapest parking. We pid €4 per day extra and had to walk further with our luggage. Overall our stay was ok but we wouldn't rush back.

31/12/2025: Very disappointed with how our booking was handled. We had a hen party booked at the Eyre Square Hotel for 27 February 2026 (2 nights) and paid a €975 deposit. Unfortunately, due to illness, we had to cancel just under 12 weeks before arrival. While the rooms were cancelled, the hotel retained the full deposit and showed no flexibility or accommodation given the circumstances. Overall, a very disappointing experience and one I would not recommend for group bookings.

08/09/2025: The lads are great and look after you. A decent local, nothing fancy. Decent pool table.

24/11/2025: Wanted to try a new coffee shop. Went in around 11:30-12 , bathrooms were disgusting with pee on the floor and no toilet paper in any of them. It wasn’t busy but I understand since there were only 3 people on staff that I saw. One barista did not have their hair tied up when making drinks. Other then that drinks were lovely and the girl who served us was very understanding and polite.

05/11/2025: Overall a good Costa. I had the Cortado which was nice. The seats need to be replaced as some are torn and frayed. The staff member who served me was pleasant but two others were engaged in a hushed conversation which looked out of place.

09/02/2026: Super kind and attentive staff. Booked 15 people for a surprise party for a friend. Outstanding service, staff made sure we have the best spot and arranged the seats for us so everyone can be close together and not in separate tables or apart. They also helped us putting candles on the cake, slicing and serving. Totally didn't expect such kindness, so thank you so much for hosting us! Also had the best ginger beer and good music, not too loud, awesome vibes. Highly recommend.

10/02/2026: The first time I came here I was blessed with the most delicious Mexican experience on my tastebuds. It was truly beautiful The second time I came here I embodied the Mexican meal adventure in another direction, instead ruining the toilet in minus one in the TBSI. It did not taste good enough for the constipation to be worth it This place is also extortionate and when I offered to pay in pesos the lady looked at me funny. Por qué?

20/09/2025: I stopped in mid morning after strolling around town. Just wanted a tea and snack nothing heavy or big. The hot chocolate brownie and ice cream I ordered was easily one of the best things I’ve eaten since I’ve been here in Ireland! Every bit was savored! I left not a crumb!

03/02/2026: Staff was friendly, food didn't take long however the chicken was really salty and tasted almost stale, I've been here before a number of times and the chicken is always really bad compared to food from the kfc in sligo or anywhere else really. This state of affairs is absolutely disgraceful and distasteful!! Giving a bad name to a generally incredible restaurant!! Shame! I will not be going back again.

04/01/2026: Great place to get food, some people say the place is so dirtying but that is because the costumers leave a lot of rubbish. Lovely kind helpful staff, keep up the good work. 8/10 Would go again.
