18/04/2026: Place was full both yesterday and today so we decided to takeaway.

08/04/2026: We visited Lantern House on a busy Saturday evening with a massive group of 20 people, and I cannot thank the staff enough! Even at their peak time, they were incredibly accommodating and made sure our entire group was looked after properly. The service was organized and very welcoming. ​Now, for the food—it was excellent! We truly enjoyed every dish. They have a huge variety on the menu to choose from, and everything served came in generous portions. No one left hungry, that's for sure! ​If you are craving authentic, delicious Chinese food, I highly recommend Lantern House. Whether you're a duo or a large party like us, they really know how to deliver a great meal. ​We will definitely be back!

09/06/2026: Grew up beside it in corduff ,i was looking forward to going back after many years .My daughter booked the upstairs for few drinks after grandsons christening in corduff church facing leonards, saturday evening ,booking was free as 50+ were attending so that was a bonus, platters of chicken wings,cocktail sausages etc were served and much nicer than expected..excellent day ..then moved to centre seats when numbers dropped, major mistake as we could smell toilets more than beer,impossible for owner/staff not to smell -moved downstairs to main lounge around 9pm...i was then shocked how quite it was as i grew up there and it used to be a good busy spot...there was maybe 15 other people there on a saturday night..wow! Singer started singing- nothing but des o connor songs -way too loud,i walked outside and spent the remainder of the night outside front doors standing...if its not pulling in locals on a weekend night then something seriously wrong apart from that smell....staff were absolutely brilliant 10/10,they couldnt be faulted so thank you lads ...

20/05/2026: All set for 4 of us to go in for dinner to be (eventually) told it's only on Thursday Checked social media before going and nothing about it, we did see a small generic menu The staff I attempted to ask barely spoke English and took three attempts too get this information

07/10/2025: I would like to make a complaint about a very disappointing experience at your café. The staff member who served us was extremely rude and unprofessional, behaving as if she was doing us a favor instead of providing customer service. We really enjoy your coffee, but this kind of attitude completely ruins the experience. I hope management takes this seriously and ensures proper customer service training for the staff involved.

27/09/2025: The place is so nice and has lots of variety of beverages and food as well. The staff is so unfriendly and grumpy! No smiles at all , I didn’t feel very comfortable there.

17/06/2026: There is an old man working behide the bar with a white head and he smells awful you guys should really ask him to wash and clean himself up somewhat didn't even finish my drink couldn't sit at the bar any longer got a pain in my nose from the smell off him

17/05/2026: Passed by to get a milk shake on my way to the cinema, and I was served by a lovely waitress with a nice smile and she was also very proactive. It makes total difference to the customer experience when staff are happy. Well recommended place!

12/05/2026: While the atmosphere at this American-style diner was enjoyable, our overall experience was quite bad. Save yourself some time and go to Bunsen or even Burger King or McDonald's because Jesus... 😟 The waiter didn't clarify that only "regular fries and drink" classify for the burger combo ("garlic" fries do not), my rocket hotdog was just a plain sausage in a bun, we were charged extra for garlic ranch sauce that should've come with the garlic fries and worst of all, they charged me for three things that make a Fanta float: the Fanta, the "Fanta float", and the ice cream! 😡 Talk about insane highway robbery. Won't be coming back here.

02/10/2025: Very friendly staff. The food was delicious. A bit on the pricey side (most expensive Irish breakfast I've had on the trip... but hey, it's worth it!)

07/12/2025: Had a coffee this morning, coffee was good but service......not a hello, thank you or goodbye, so sad 😢

27/10/2025: I was in Cork for one day and found this spot on reddit. It was the best iced coffee I've had in Ireland in six months. Very good!

03/06/2026: What a jem of a pub. Walked in with wife and straight away we were met by Jenny, barstaff. Really made us feel welcome. Introduced us to the locals who in turn made our time in there wonderful. The beers were spot on. No complaints. Needless to say we went in there twice more. Thankyou to the owners and staff. Amazing time. Julie/Phil.

17/03/2026: Myself and my pal ordered a pint each on Saturday evening, after paying we were told "one drink, then leave!" We are from the North and clearly it was a "sectarian waitress, older lady, blonde hair" awful experience in an otherwise great weekend. One of the regulars looked at us and simply said "ridiculous lads" Boomerang, we won't be back where we're not welcome, if your a North man, your not welcome apparently...

29/03/2026: Been here twice at nights and it’s always been a horrible experience. We were the only customers and we weren’t acknowledged or served. After waiting for some time we eventually left. It seems like after 9pm staff just pretend like you don’t exist.

03/04/2026: We had veggie burger, fries , onion rings. Everything was very very good. Very good price range in such an expensive town for food. Very friendly staff and excellent atmosphere

05/05/2026: Simple place but serves delicious pasta. Tried here whilst over in Dublin for a few days and I came back again before I headed off. Food comes quickly.

28/01/2026: I don't understand the 5 stars. I asked for carbonara. No home pasta, they usea bacon and cream instead the proper meat and egg yolks. Sorry but i don't recomend it.

20/04/2026: We cancelled our order yesterday evening after an hour and 15 of sitting with dirty starter dishes in front of us - such a pity it was very clear the three girls waiting tables weren’t capable of managing the workload and were out of their depths entirely without a manger there. There was no apology when we opted to pay for our starters only and leave despite being a family occasion and a table booked in advance of the day. The starters we had were tasty but no water came to the table - and plates were requested twice. A large party in the restaurant seemed to max out their capacity sadly. Won’t be returning as a result.

19/04/2026: All the young girls and Jason who seems to be a floor manager working FOH are lovely with great manners, great service and so accommodating making you feel so welcome however, the little lady that owns the place is so rude!! We came in for a nice meal and as we were settling up the bill at a counter one of the girls was on the phone with a customer trying to order food. We could hear her speaking and by the sounds of it she was being so kind and helpful to the customer, next minute, this little lady comes out roaring at her about not washing dishes while 3 other girls are also standing there. We also came in during the week at around lunchtime and no one was there except the owner. We walked in and the place was like a ghost town, dark, no atmosphere and when I looked around all the tables were completely covered with dirty dishes. We felt so unwelcome while trying to collect our takeaway and the lady serving us was so rude. Id recommend going on a weekend when the kind people are working.

24/03/2026: Food is delicious and the atmosphere is very welcoming. The service is awesome they’re very attentive. Been coming here for years!!! Definitely recommended. ❤️
