The best restaurants

08/08/2026: I want to like Fishy Fishy in Kinsale. This was my 3rd visit over a couple of years. The food used to be excellent. I especially remember the fish pie being really good on my first visit. However I went there last night with my family and was greatly disappointed. The restaurant has a great vibe, prompt service, and nice decor, but the food is average at best. I had the pan fried hake, which was bland and rather tasteless, drowned in a cream sauce. My son’s scallops were equally unimpressive, and the accompanying risotto was underdone. It should have been a sign that the food would not be great when it arrived within 5 to 10 minutes of ordering. Clearly much of it was premade and ready to serve. It seems positioned for tourists now, more quantity than quality, and I wanted it to be nice but it fell way short. I think they can do better. Hopefully they will.

06/08/2026: Fishy Fishy is an outstanding seafood restaurant and absolutely worth the visit. The seafood chowder is a must-try—rich, full of flavour, and one of the best I’ve had. The restaurant is always busy, but there’s a good reason for that. The food is fresh, beautifully prepared, and packed with flavour. The place is clean, well run, and the staff handle the busy atmosphere very well. Without a doubt, one of the best seafood restaurants we’ve eaten at in Ireland. Highly recommended.

17/07/2026: We went for my wife’s birthday, when I booked the restaurant I left a note saying that it was her birthday, I asked if would be possible to get a dessert with a candle, but they didn’t do it or even reply my request, they didn’t care about that detail, it was important for us .

03/08/2026: The Guest Services Manager, John, was super dismissive and unhelpful after I asked about getting any room that wasn’t staring at a brick wall for my 17 day stay with them. Every other staff member I encountered was amazing but I hope that guy improves because he’s letting them all down

23/07/2026: Did the Bridgeton style afternoon tea here. It was fab specially with the live piano music playing in the background. The pianist was really good. The only thing is, all senses were engaged except for maybe the sense of smell, maybe some sort of diffuser or something to add to the ambiance not that it smells bad or anything🙂. This is just my opinion.

11/07/2026: Delicious and incredibly fresh food! Ordering is super easy using a QR code right at your table. The team is exceptionally friendly and welcoming, making you feel right at home. I was particularly impressed by how quickly the food was served, despite being freshly prepared – it arrived within minutes. If you're looking for a light, fresh, and healthy meal and don't want something heavy, this is the place for you. Highly recommended, I'll definitely be back!

15/07/2026: Gluten pizza which was v.nice for a random pub. Service was ok, you order from an app but it was lovely sitting in the pub garden in the sun.

15/07/2026: Wonderful stay at ODonnabhain’s. The hosts, Jer and Vanessa, along with the staff made us feel welcome and comfortable during our 3 night stay. Perfectly located in Kenmare, day trips to the Ring of Kerry and the Beara were possible.

17/04/2026: Orderd cheese burger and chips, there was no onions, no lettuce, no tomato, no sauce, burnt the bun, and charged over 21 euros, quality not worth it. I was in the middle of the room, there was no reception/signal on my phone so couldn't use any of my features.

09/04/2026: Fantastic little cafe. Staff were super friendly. It was a very relaxed atmosphere and beautiful, quirky decor. Cool menu for lunch. Only thing I would say is that the Belgian waffles were shockingly overpriced.

25/07/2026: Service was very slow. 90 mins before main arrived after ordering.

24/07/2026: Atmosphere is great, on-street parking nearby for those driving in, service is really nice. Their menu is seasonal so it'll likely be different from what you see on Google but the selection is great. I wasn't super impressed with my striploin, I think the cut was poor quality, but it was nice enough and the rest of my table loved their food (seafood/pasta/pizza). Drinks are nice but virgin/zero options are very limited, still tasty. Prices aren't astronomical but it's not cheap. Music is also quite loud but we were sitting inside so might be a chiller vibe if you're outside. If you're short you might not love sitting at the booths inside, the tables are pretty high. Still had a great time!

24/07/2026: My family and me went to Sherpa for the diner. We weren’t expecting anything but we were really surprised, the food was really nice and the portion were big. We were served by a Ukrainian lady, who was so nice and professional. We really appreciated our food there, I recommend this place.

25/04/2026: Going here for years. The spiced chicken and cream sauce is fabulous. I like the bare hint of spice and this suits me perfectly

16/06/2026: Thoroughly impressed. We ordered the mussels, I had the lamb and my partner had the duck. Everything was cooked perfectly. The portion sizes were insanely large, the value of this establishment is incredible. The service beat the Michelin star (Homestead Cottage) we went to the night previous by miles. The atmosphere was traditional, it was mostly middle aged / more older crowd but felt trust worthy for a local and more authentic experience. However, the service was vibrant and not stuffy. Highly highly recommend.

26/07/2026: Sunday morning. Cinnamon Bun was so fresh and outstanding. Americano fab too. Recommend!

02/06/2026: Had high expectations, but sadly failed on friendliness, service and quality. I ordered a sandwich and a latte to dine in but when i sat down to wait i was left waiting for 12 minutes plus… despite it being very quiet. When I inquired i was abruptly told it will be delivered when ready. Eventually when my sandwich arrived i had to remove a big lump of fat from the meat and the coffee was lukewarm. Really disappointed and will be no repeat visit.

23/07/2026: I ordered the special fried rice and when I started eating it, there was exactly 1 shrimp in it and there was ALOT of onion like chunky onions. It was okay and my first time in bell pepper. I dont think ill be back anytime soon. Too expensive and too small quantity
