14/08/2026: We had a fantastic experience here recently. The food was absolutely delicious and presented beautifully. We particularly enjoyed the crispy tempura, which was cooked to perfection. The atmosphere was lovely and relaxed. It was the perfect spot for our meal, and everything from the sushi to the drinks was spot on. We will definitely be back again soon.

09/09/2026: They have a vegan AND gluten free ramen, I get it every time I’m in Dublin. It’s hard to find this kind of option everywhere. It’s very good, tasty veggies, flavourful broth, vermicelli noodles that aren’t overcooked (like other places I have had). The server made sure to tell the cook it was gluten free, I heard her say it 4 times. Definitely recommend to others!

22/07/2026: A very charming family business with excellent quality and friendly service. Definitely recommended in Castledermot – well worth a detour! We came to Castledermot from Duckett Grove to see the Roundtower and the Abbey.

14/08/2026: Absolutely BEAUTIFUL beef and Guinness stew large enough to share. Made with very clearly fresh and local ingredients (about half a cow and 3 bags of carrots per portion....) Really good service and atmosphere too. Totally recommend.

31/07/2026: I have lunched here on many, many occasions over the years and have always enjoyed it, which makes what happened a month ago all the more disappointing. During lunch, I was served a crab dish containing a small piece of rubber. I politely pointed it out to the waiter. We both agreed it was sensible to make the kitchen aware of it so they could ensure no other customer ordering the same dish would receive anything similar. A short time later, a French man ( who happens to be staff manager) who did not identify himself as the manager or a member of staff approached me in a confrontational and aggressive manner. He insisted the rubber had not come from the kitchen and had not been on the plate when it was served. I found this accusation both insulting and completely unacceptable. I was so taken aback that I immediately left the restaurant. As I was leaving, a local gentleman who happened to be passing by and had seen what occurred stopped to tell me that he and his wife had experienced a very similar confrontation with the same manager some months earlier. I later asked the waiter who had served us who this individual was, as I had never seen him before despite dining at 64 on numerous occasions over the years. He confirmed that the man was the current manager and apologised for what he had witnessed. It was an extremely disappointing experience and not one I would wish on any other customer. — Damien

20/08/2026: Dont know why they say open till 10 when you ring just beofore 10 to 10 and they refuse to make a ceaser salad because of how long it will take. So annoying!

17/05/2026: We had an amazing experience here! We spent 3 nights at Ballymaloe and loved every minute. It is an absolutely stunning hotel in the peaceful Irish countryside. The room was clean, beautifully decorated, had heated floors and a heated towel rack, and the comfiest bed! Our room even had a small patio overlooking the gardens. Service was great as well. The morning breakfast was absolutely delicious and the afternoon tea and cake was a nice way to spend an afternoon. We had the 5 course dinner on property one night- which was also delicious. The employees are all so kind and helpful. 10/10 would recommend Ballymaloe to anyone! And would love to come back one day!

12/05/2026: Lovely pub with great staff and our weekly getaway after parkrun. Staff are amazing and food and drink is gorgeous. There are different places to sit in inside and outside and it is one of few pubs that also works very well in larger groups

25/08/2026: I ordered 2 pizzas, cheese and the other pepperoni. It was the worst pizza ever. Barely any cheese and 4 slices of pepperoni. Really? €21 was completely wasted on it.

17/08/2026: Travelled down for the day from Wexford, Food was excellent, especially gluten free pizza, nicest I've ever had, catered for kids gluten free meals as well. Staff were very friendly and efficient for such a busy spot. Will be back

15/08/2026: Food is very good but we spent our meal listening to TikTok videos a staff member was playing on their phone (having asked them to turn it down three times)

13/07/2026: Stunning Hotel, exceptional quality for the price, all the facilities 1 would need, very friendly staff. Lovely food. Staff are very friendly & helpful. Got a helipad incase you arrive in your personal helicopter. 😅 I'll definitely be back, but for longer next time.

06/09/2026: When we visit a popular or touristy street, we normally don’t have very high expectations, as you often end up paying a premium for the location, while the quality of the food and service isn’t always at the same level. However, we came here with our family and our newborn daughter and we had a great experience. The seafood was delicious and Alki and the rest of the staff were very friendly, attentive and welcoming. It was refreshing to find a place in a popular location where both the food and the service were high quality. Thank you for making our experience so enjoyable!
