30/05/2026: What a fantastic place, the views are stunning. Stopped for a few hours walk snd lunch. 3 euro into the carpatk, really nice cafe and picnic benches overlooking one of the most beautiful views in ireland. The Greenway walk is magical, a perfect afternoon.

03/12/2025: Lovely location and accommodating staff. Booked the suite and the whole hotel was decorated in the spirit of Christmas which was lovely. Just one minor suggestion: Consider partnering with local artists for artwork to be added to rooms and potentially it being able to be research via qr code and purchased.

02/12/2025: Room was very comfortable, the perfect size with plenty of space, but not too big. Excellent bathroom. Service at the hotel were excellent. All staff were outstanding, very helpful and accommodating. Breakfast was excellent, poached egg and avocado was delicious, eggs perfectly cooked. Having access to the swimming pool at the Great Southern was a great bonus and it is only across the road from the townhouse.

23/03/2026: Sorry the place in lovely......but for the price the food was very bland the pepper sauce was so weak €36 for a rib eye steak. wasn't as good as you would expect I was sitting at the bar with lots of staff right in front of me but I still had to ask staff for everything 1 girl I asked two times before getting dessert menu. Then waiting 10 minutes before a nice older man looks like barman came in and he was great... But it's good to see so many young staff getting work . But please get the girls away from the glass polishing machine. They are addicted to rubbing their hands on it 😞 Again I'm sorry. But disappointed.

10/03/2026: Fantastic pub, with a great atmosphere, very friendly staff , lots to choose from on the food menu's, with some tasty bar snacks if your peckish ...very experienced boys behind the bar pulling pints and serving drinks.. a classic , open plan layout, caters for all ur party needs, big or small .. couldn't recommend it enough to anyone... 10 stars , absolutely loved my experience there 👍😜

04/09/2025: So many savory options! Best Italian I have had since going vegan. Got there, given an hr wait, went nexdoor til she called us over earlier than expected, and she waited a little extra while we finished our pints. Kind service staff. Loved the fresh ingredients. My pesto ravioli with sweet potatoes was fantastic. The linguine were perfectly al dente and we could see them being made. Saved room for dessert, the strawberry hill was delicious. All so perfectly balanced, really. Try the appetizers! We got the socca farinata. My Omni bf and I (vegan) thought this was some of the best food we've had. Cozy, romantic, welcoming, & affordable, too.

09/10/2025: This cafe is buzzing with energy, friendly helpful service, healthy delicious food and great coffee. I went in to get a coffee for a homeless guy one day and bumped into Sinead the owner I knew from years ago we had a friendly chat and she gave me the coffee and croissant for free as I told her who it was for. Highly recommend 👍

22/05/2026: We had frequented a couple of pubs in Donegal to try out the Guinness. We met an acquaintance in The Rambling House due to his recommendation, as bar that pulls a great Guinness. This was by far the best one, I and the others in the group had drank on our trip to Northern Ireland and Ireland. Would definitely visit again if I’m the area.

19/04/2026: Just had one of the best meals at The Rambling House, I had the special, Hake with Mussels, served with a Chorizo & Saffron Sauce 😍, the wife had Salt & Chilli Chicken with Noodles, and my mother had the Fish & Chips, my daughter had Gougons & Chips all washed down with a good glass of Sauvignon Blanc. For afters we had the Cookies & Ice Cream😘, Proper Chips, Proper Food, If you haven't been here recently, give it a go, Food is great value and as good as it gets. Compliments to a top chef who knows how to cook food. Always great service, we will be back 👍

14/06/2026: Been coming here for years as the kebabs were always the nicest around but lately the quality and quantity of the food has massively changed. Prices have gone up and for the quality of the food I don't think its worth it. The chips were so good but now they changed them I can't see myself returning again unfortunately.

13/05/2026: Absolutely stunning place, lovely staff and owners, friendly, helpful, attentive. Perfect breakfast, really nice rooms. Cosy reading room with a fireplace, nice decorations. I've stayed there twice and will come back again.

11/05/2026: Had a lovely meal there on a Sunday evening....beautiful spot, with a welcoming log burner and warm and friendly host Roger. The food was excellent...my friend ordered the meat platter which was ginormous and tasty...the generous portions of lasagne that my other friend and I had, were very satisfying after a boat trip out amongst the islands on Lough Key. Can't think of a better way to spend a sunny Sunday afternoon in May... highly recommend! Cheers!

03/03/2026: Unfortunately I'm unable to rate this venue as when we arrived it was closed. The bar is open but food is only served Thursday thru w/end. While we appreciate that customer is quiet this time of the year, it's not really too much to expect the information on line to be updated. So disappointed

02/06/2026: Went to Camile Thai Kitchen Skerries with a group of friends for a birthday treat and had a fantastic experience. The food was excellent, with something for everyone. We especially enjoyed the Tandoori Chicken, naan bread, curry dishes, Pad Thai, Singapore Fried Rice, and the starters. The Tasting Platter, Gunpowder Fries, and Onion Bhaji were all delicious and perfect for sharing. The staff were friendly, attentive, and made the evening really enjoyable. Great food, great service, and a lovely atmosphere. We'll definitely be back!

15/06/2026: Fantastic dinner at Fade Street Social last night after matinee at Gate theatre. Starters - hummus & baked Camembert mouthwatering …steaks sirloin & ribeye cooked exactly as we wanted, broccoli spears tender in beautiful sauce. Service and atmosphere excellent - nice buzz on a Sunday 6pm. Yes it’s expensive but a great night out for a special treat. Dylan McGrath on site - approachable & friendly.

08/05/2026: Attended a family celebration at the bistro recently and the food here was top class, as was the service. Friendly and professional staff in a nice atmosphere - great experience.

30/05/2026: Eleven of us from 4 to 80 years came for a birthday party Saturday afternoon 30th May. Coeliac's and vegetarians catered for, we had roast beef, lamb, hake, chicken, burgers and for the kids; chicken and fish goujons, 1/2 roast and all were EXCELLENT. Beautiful meal. Great value, very communicative (from initial email enquiry), receptive, friendly staff. Lovely place, you will leave very satisfied. Thanks for a lovely day out
