The best restaurants

27/07/2025: Back at Tabu for the first time since just after they opened. This time with the kids and we all thoroughly enjoyed it. It was great to be able to enjoy grown up food and the kids being happy also. The tapas is as good as it was the first time. Good to see standards haven’t dropped. Everything was perfect. This place deserves a star.

27/07/2025: This was our favorite meal of our stay! Thank you for the delicious meal and warm hospitality. We arrived earlier than our reservation and our kids played on the playground across the street as we enjoyed a cocktail. The restaurant was packed and had a lot of energy. It was loud if that matters to you. we liked it. We tried the potato, carpaccio, and calamari tapas and each was exciting and beautiful as well and fresh and flavorful. We had the sliders, two roasts, and the prawn linguini and devoured it all! I appreciated this meal because it was outside the “Irish” box. There were South American and Asian flavors scattered throughout as well as delicious Irish flavor. For dessert we enjoyed the strawberry merengue, churros and baked Antarctica. All were perfection! We dined in Michelin restaurants before including on this trip and the variety display and flavor made us love this the most. Thank you!!!

01/08/2025: Just dropped in for lunch, didn't know they had a deal from Monday to Thursday,€10 for lunch, fantastic deal and the food was great!

28/07/2025: All-you-can-eat buffet with meals cooked on a giant griddle. Original and delicious. Friendly atmosphere.

13/07/2025: My fresh delicate panfried sea-bass was overpowered by the asian flavours of the stir fried vegetables and sauce it was served on. The barely reheated glutinous mashed potatoes and the herby tomato sauce belonged to another dish entirely. I never waste food but for once I left most of it, bar the fish. I couldn’t get my head around the odd combination of food items. Neither was my friend’s beautiful fresh hake enhanced by the thick bland white sauce which had no wine in it. The espresso martinis were delicious and the staff friendly even though run off their feet. Hard not to have ‘fresh’ fish in this location so a simpler more focussed menu would drag this place into the 21st century. Rave reviews indeed but choose wisely. Over-rated and overpriced pub grub from the 90s would best describe it for me.

14/08/2025: Maegan was absolutely brilliant! Always made sure we had everything we needed and her customer service was excellent. Food was also lovely.

10/08/2025: The food was lovely I got the vegan burger and fries, my partner got the hot heifer burger with fries and nachos to share my burger was 20-30mins late there was lack of communication from the staff not keeping us updated on the food, when the food arrived my burger was nice though it was quite dry not enough sauce, my partner loved his burger though he thought the nachos were not up to power though I enjoyed the nachos, next we ordered dessert I got a chocolate Sunday and my partner got a popcorn caramel Sunday it was lovely, though we both agreed it was not worth the price for what we got €93.60.

18/08/2025: Food and service were amazing- great pre-gig lunch and cocktails, but I'd go back regardless if I were going to a gig or not! Yummy!!

18/08/2025: I've visited here for lunches and dinner and food is consistently good. Fish tacos are particularly fresh and tasty. Staff and owner are lovely and so helpful. Great neighbourhood restaurant.

15/07/2025: the interior is unbelievably beautiful and really comfy, they have a lot of drafts, the bartender was very nice and they were playing an emo song, i loved this place

07/08/2025: Lovely place close to the Latin quarter. The best vegan burger I have had in a long time. Very welcoming service and great food overall. If I'd live in Galway this would be my go to place!

15/08/2025: Situated just a short drive out of Killarney, Killeen House is the perfect mix of being accessible to but not in the mix of the crowd. Exceptional service, we constantly felt welcomed and cared for. The beds were incredibly comfortable. No air con but we were provided a fan when asked.

08/08/2025: I was really looking forward to staying at this hotel. When we arrived at reception, they asked me to move because I was in the way, which I took the wrong way. The least I could do is give those staying here a chance to book. A table of 20 people arrived. No luck, I had booked the hotel because of the restaurant (there were only two of us). In addition, the room's soundproofing was poor; we could hear everything going on in the hallway. I slept badly, and I found the price comparable to other hotels I've stayed in this week. I'm very disappointed...

21/08/2025: A small diner offering light, traditional meals, coffee, and hot drinks. Groceries are also available for purchase. Affordable for the area.

19/08/2025: Adorable cafe. The woman makes all food fresh. The scones were straight out of the oven with butter and fresh cream. Amazing. The coffee cake was moist and delicious.

22/07/2025: Came here for dinner with a small group and got the cod, sea bass and fish cakes. Wowwwww the food was delicious! All the fish was so light and we watched them be hand battered. Fantastic for a quick dine in or takeaway

14/08/2025: We had the chilli eggs and beef brisket, followed by baileys cheesecake served with vanilla ice cream and fresh berries. Main courses were freshly cooked, well seasoned, tasty and generous portion. Dessert was also very tasty, smooth and creamy, refreshing and a great finish to brunch. Staff were very friendly and accommodating.

17/08/2025: Fab spot to stop for the best pancakes, lots of options for toppings sweet and savory! The cottage is beautiful and unique, there is also outdoor seating in a lovely garden area. This will definitely be a stop any time I’m near Kenmare/Killarney!

13/08/2025: Overall a lovely restaurant with the friendliest staff and great food. Very cool ambiance and good for cocktails. The Wagyu rib noodles are a must try with a very generous amount of meat.
