The best restaurants

17/10/2025: Extremely friendly staff and the brown bread and sea salt ice creams were delicious.

16/10/2025: Lovely girl working the counter, she was so friendly and did not rush us at all. We tried several flavors and they were all delicious.

28/09/2025: Wonderful little cafe/restaurant. Had the full Irish breakfast. Everything was gorgeous. The staff are lovely and very welcoming. Definitely recommend.

02/10/2025: I have never had an unsatisfactory meal here. There are always familiar faces inside probably the best indication of a really good restaurant.

21/09/2025: Throughly enjoyed our time here. Fantastic character here, it would be hard to find the same somewhere else. Food arrived quickly and pipping hot. It was tasty and value for money. We will definitely be back. I would certainly recommend.

05/10/2025: A great value for money spot. Portions are generous and they don't skimp on the sandwich fillings so you don't feel you're being short changed. They are always innovating and pushing themselves in the sweet and savoury options which is great to see and one of the reasons why they are always so busy! We had the veggie halloumi sandwich with chips and a brownie to go. The sandwich was well filled and very tasty. The brownie was more cake consistency than the fudgy/gooey it should be so I have to knock off a star for that.

02/10/2025: The Happy Cup Cafe Oldcastle serves the most amazing food daily 😋 all freshly made on the premises every day. As for their cakes and scones out of this world 🌎 lovingly made by the amazing Laura. The atmosphere is amazing like one big happy family. Michael Higgins and myself would love to take this opportunity to say thank you so much each and everyone of you amazing staff for your fantastic service and banter 😀 😊 ❤️ as for the boss himself and his technical skills at the many many many cup's of coffee ☕️ Thank you Boss man 👨 Gintaras

12/10/2025: I visit the coffee shop on Friday and I was very disappointed in the lemon drizzle cake. When this was brought to the staff's attention the reaction was shocking. The exact words from the staff member was ' we cannot give you free cake base on your personal taste preference. The cake is fresh and it's gluten free.'I did not ask for free cake, At this point I realized that a mature conversation is not possible. I would not recommend the cafe to anyone.

27/09/2025: I'm sure the food is fine, but we never got any. Busy Saturday lunchtime where we were asked to sit and wait for a table, which is fine, but weren't informed we could sit at an outside table and order ourselves at the counter. But other people did this and had eaten and left before we were even seated. Poor communication between staff meant they were constantly asking who was next for tables and getting mixed up, which meant that two groups were then seated before us. When we did eventually get a table, they put us in the far corner and never came back to take our order, or even look at us when we waved to get attention. They took the orders for the other groups but not ours. After 30 minutes of being ignored, we eventually decided to leave, and no one even bothered to ask us why. We went to Canteen where they know how to treat customers and how to communicate with each other.

06/10/2025: The best coffee I've ever had. Whenever in Dublin this is a must visit for me to refill my stock with 1 or 2 kgs of either of Brazilian or Columbian roast.

18/10/2025: It is a place with a nice atmosphere and ambiance. There are plenty of spacious seating areas. The cocktails and food options are quite satisfying. The staff were friendly and fast. It’s not exactly an open kitchen, but you can still see the kitchen area which is nice.

15/10/2025: After being seated we were left sitting for 25 minutes and only then a waiter asked if we were ready to order our food. We had not yet even been offered drinks Aside from us ordering drinks, our food being delivered, service was poor. There were 6 of us (4 adults and 2 x17 year olds). We were there for a family dinner. The food was substatial but lacked any pizazz. The lack of meat in the beef fajitas was incredible, but plenty of PEPPERS AND ONIONS. I always tip however there was a 10% service charge added already so considering my bill was €168 the added another €16.80, (Now the fact they call it service charge and the service was non existant ) I was looking forward to this family occasion but felt very let down, it wasn't even too busy but possibly understaffed. We didn't leave hungry but I don't think we were satisfied.

03/10/2025: Had a good time. Atmosphere was happy, friendly, and welcoming. Enjoyed the fish and chips and so did my wife. Service was excellent. I wish I would have asked her name(so I could include), because she was very friendly and ready to help if we needed something. Will be back.

29/09/2025: Great serving size and delicious taste had the soup of the day vegetable and roast of the day Beef it was fabulous price was good atmosphere friendly neighborly a hidden little gem that tourists might walk by since not on the main drag highly recommended

27/09/2025: We had incredible Italian pasta, the service was excellent, and the food was delicious, with the perfect amount. The place is beautifully decorated and cozy and quiet. Highly recommended!

21/09/2025: Authentic Irish pub with lively music.No food. The bartenders are friendly and efficient. The pub can be quite full when music is on. Squeeze in, order a pint and enjoy the music. Remember to not drink your Guinness until it settles and is black.
