The best restaurants

26/01/2026: Really great experience in Hong Hop last night! There was a decent enough crowd of us, 10 in total, and the whole staff were really welcoming and accommodating throughout the whole evening. The service was top class, can't thank them enough for how they looked after us.I found the food to be really good, and there's lots of options available so everyone can find something. Would definitely go back again!

11/03/2026: Came for a family get together, three generations, two vegetarians, everyone loved Bethlehem. Gorgeous decor, great atmosphere. That was my first visit, of many I hope.

03/02/2026: Ah lads… Hold up there. I know that we are blessed to live in a country where fresh produce is abundant, and good chefs are numerous… BUT… when you’re lucky enough to eat somewhere that has both of these things, the result is the culinary holy grail. Quay West in Donegal Town is most definitely one of these places… A beautifully diverse menu that showcases the best of Irish beef (Brazilian, Brashmillion…) delicate Italian pasta dishes, and even ventures into a wonderfully fragrant Indonesian curry. Being as close as they are to Killybegs, I couldn’t pass the freshness of the Kinnegar battered Haddock, with fresh tartar sauce and pea purée… Christ. That’s all. The fish must have hopped out of the water of his own accord, and got a taxi from the pier in Killybegs straight in to the Quay West kitchen, and begged to be battered… and being in Donegal, what better battering than a Kinnegar batter?!?! It was utter perfection, complimented by a perfectly tart tartar, and smooth pea which was definitely in several of the 40 shades of green. Also at our table were dishes of Chicken Parmigiana, curry, and the most incredible zesty crab and courgette linguine… I’m not sure what magic was worked to make this sooooo light, but Angels definitely wept. The delicate lightness of the lobster cream was unreal… if this was the base for a chowder or bisque, it would be unbeatable. If you happen to be lucky enough to be in Donegal at dinner time, do NOT pass this place by. The staff are friendly without being too overly attentive, and the view is nearly as perfect as the food. THIS Quay West, is much better than the other Key West, and doesn’t take as long to get to. 13/10 for fresh fishiness. Will dine again. Nomnomnom…

02/02/2026: Really great restaurant in Donegal Town. We were looked after from the moment we walked in the door and right throughout the evening. The menu was wide and varied with plenty of choice for everyone. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable and despite being busy, everything was under control and there was no long wait for our food. Hadn't eaten there before but will definitely be back. Really nice atmosphere. Thanks to Jo and team for a lovely evening.

21/03/2026: Fantastic spot. The menu is perfectly crafted from beginning to end. Highly recommend especially if you’re looking for an intimate low volume restaurant with high quality cuisine. Great service with about 10 tables and a high top. Loved every minute here.

20/03/2026: I had an incredible anniversary dinner here. The food was extremely good and the staff was so lovely and generous. Aoife, the manager, was very charming. Highly recommended. We'll be back for sure.

19/10/2025: Fantastic food truck, I've eaten it on a few occasions and its always been great, went down with two friends and they were closing up but they gave us 2 servings of chips just for making the trip. Would strongly recommend.

16/03/2026: This has to be the best hotel I’ve stayed in regarding the staff. Every single person without exception is the friendliest and most helpful I’ve come across. The food is absolutely amazing too, a particular shout out to Chef Liam who is outstanding. Look forward to my return.

01/12/2025: The staff were very polite and helpful. The starter was quite good, and the beef dumpling was very tasty, although the bottom wasn’t crispy. The prawn toast and its sauce were excellent. The pork noodle soup was hot, delicious, and a large portion. Unfortunately, I didn’t enjoy my own dish. The lotus roots weren’t for me,there was a strange perfume-like aroma coming from the food. I’d like to come back again to try the noodle soup or dumpling .

01/12/2025: Better value elsewhere. I ordered the Char siu pork and was surprised to see that rice was not included. For a €25 dish it’s disappointing having to pay another €4.50 just for a small bowl of rice. Any other restaurant I’ve been to has included rice as standard with a main dish like that. The portion size of pork was good, but my food was barely warm when I received it. Disappointed

26/02/2026: I had read about the Ballymore Inn over the years in various newspaper reviews but never actually got to visit. I went last week with family over from the UK and we wanted a good brunch as we had collected them from a morning flight. The brunch is only a new thing and I hope they keep it. Everyone agreed it was easily the best breakfast they'd ever had. You can taste the quality and care that went into sourcing/baking the food and preparation. Absolutely delicious! I went for Irish breakfast and usually I would avoid it because most places in Ireland do a greasy plate of meat. This was absolutely incredible - no grease, not awful fat - really good quality meat, the most amazing B&W puddings I have ever tasted - an incredible, what tasted like hand made, hash brown, poached egg....plenty of variety and a large portion. Accompanied by amazing treacle brown bread and toasted sourdough. I can't recommend this place enough for brunch/breakfast to be honest. The staff are lovely, it has a very cosy relaxing atmosphere, it's handy to get to from the main roads. Probably a little on the pricey side - but no more so than anywhere else in Ireland at the moment, ...but it is WORLDS apart in terms of good quality - so very much worth it.

01/03/2026: We had a group of 3 families head to Sextons today for food. We have been before and the food is always excellent. Today my 3.5 year old twins were fascinated with the pizza making and a lovely gent, who's name we didn't get, came out from the kitchen to let the girls make their own pizza. He was explaining what to do and let them put on their sauce and cheese. Fabulous service and very family friendly. My girls were absolutely thrilled. Huge thanks to the lovely staff and we will be back again soon 😊

08/03/2026: The vegetable biryani was full of fragrant spices but the taste was lacking big time! Paneer in the paneer chilli was fresh but lacked flavor and taste as well. The worst part for me was brocoli in the vegetable biryani!! That's a big no for me!!

28/02/2026: I have been ordering from Masala for years. The food is excellent, staff are wonderful and I like that you can actually see the chefs preparing the food. They did they catering for my birthday and went above and beyond what I had expected for a very reasonable price. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

17/02/2026: Nice place, has an inhouse Asia market (though the offerings are slim compared to dedicated places) The food we ordered was mediocre in quality but high in price. For a group gathering it's good, but if you're looking for price to quality look elsewhere.

14/02/2026: Service was a little slow but I cannot fault the overall experience . Staff were very friendly And food was absolutely delicious. Would definitely recommend. We will be back .

11/11/2025: I had such a wonderful experience at Cinnamon Garden! The food was absolutely delicious every dish was full of authentic flavors, and the Dal Makhni deserves a special mention truly one of the best I’ve had in Ireland. The manager was incredibly cordial and friendly, taking time to make sure every guest was comfortable and happy. You can really feel the passion and care in the way they serve and present their food. Cinnamon Garden stands out for its top-notch food, warm hospitality, and inviting ambience. Being from Delhi and a big foodie, I can say with confidence that this place captures the real essence of Indian dining. Highly recommended for anyone looking for an exceptional Indian restaurant experience in Ireland! 🌟

05/08/2025: Value for money meal.. The quality is okay though but taste and quantity is really good. We ordered chicken 65 Biryani meal that came with chicken kebabs and separate portion of chilli chicken.Everything tasted good. Extremely satisfying portions and pocket friendly

29/07/2025: We catered our 25 people intimate wedding cocktails party from Desi Bawarchi. The food was a hit among all, both veg and non-veg. The starters especially were incredible and the biryani is recommended 100%. It was delivered on time and definitely good for the price.
