22/02/2026: Ordered 2 Irish breakfasts. Happy with the food. And very good service. Went to pay and realised the 2 teas were extra. So was expecting a bill for €29. Instead was charged €36.80. €7.80 for 2 teas when having food is a rip off. Reconsider please and include it with the breakfast.

15/03/2026: Update: 15/03/2026 A couple of years since I was last in Salamanca and unfortunately the only thing that has changed is the date. Also, ditch the mussels or change the sauce. 2024: Had great memories of this restaurant, its tapas were always fresh and full of flavour. Today it was like a faint echo of itself, similar menu items which, while they were ok, suffered in comparison to their predecessors.

14/03/2026: It's nice to see my city's name around the world. A good place to enjoy myself and feel a little closer to home. The meat and appetizers were delicious. The paella could be better. Around €23 per person (2024) ---+--- The second time wasn't as good as the first. Bread with sauces: only the tapenade was tasty, the romesco was terrible, and the mojo was nowhere near as good as the Canarian one. Chicken in Ximenez sauce was more garlicky than anything else. Octopus was mediocre and a bit chewy. Stuffed peppers were tasty and plentiful. Ham croquettes could be better, but they were good. Seafood paella was terrible; the use of canned goods gave it a vinegary taste. The black pudding was okay. Considering it was tapas, the whole feast cost €100. I hope they improve in terms of quality and flavor next time, as well as the price. (2026)

18/02/2026: Went for brunch. The staff were friendly, the place is beautiful and the food was lovely (we ordered eggs benedict and eggs royale). A nice detail is that you can get free parking for an hour at the Aldi parking!

18/02/2026: We ordered two different dishes that included poached eggs, but all four eggs came completely cooked (hard yolk), which was not what we expected from the dish. Something simple, but it was totally disappointing.

03/12/2025: Great ambiance, nice staff..friendly,great cortado maker…yummy pastries…we had a round berry swirl thingy and an almond croissant….both were made very well within just the right amount of sweetness!! Also took home a rye baguette, it was very good. Looking forward to returning soon for more cortado and pastries!!

13/02/2026: Fantastic hotel in a perfect spot with views of the mountains at meal time. The new rooms are fresh and so comfortable and all the staff were excellent, so welcoming and professional 👌😊

06/02/2026: Unfortunately the room had a visible bed bug infestation. I stayed in the bed with my 4 month old and we are both covered in bites. Mark the manager was amazing and his service was fantastic but of course this doesnt make up for all of the stuff we had to dispose of, the fee to get our car steam cleaned and the discomfort our baby is now in because of the welts. We ended up having to cut our trip short and not go on to further hotels (this was friday night of a long weekend) as we did not want to further spread the bugs. I wasnt going to write a review at all, but when they sent their survey out after our stay and I gave my feedback - there was no acknowledgement given, now a week later. Really disappointed overall.

30/11/2025: What a find!. Best test of a restaurant is to order vegetarian options,which I did. (Im a carnivore) They were beautifully prepared, full of flavour and very satisfying. Lovely wine list. Place was very busy but service was flawless. Enjoy

17/11/2025: We had planned this dinner for weeks and arrived dressed formally, hoping for a nice evening. One member of our group had more to drink than the rest, but the most dramatic moment from our side was him repeating a question during ordering. There were no raised voices, no comments directed at staff, and no disruption of any kind. It was simply a mildly tipsy lad trying to decide between mash or chips. Despite this, the staff seemed convinced we were about to stage a full-scale riot. Service became unusually tense very quickly, and the passive-aggressive highlight of the night was receiving a takeaway dessert box with an angry face drawn on it. Nothing says “fine dining” quite like a doodle that looks as though it was done by a bored child in a maths class. When we politely asked what the issue was, we received no explanation at all. We were given only vague references to “inappropriate behaviour,” although nobody seemed able to describe what that behaviour actually was. We left confused but ready to move on. I was not even going to leave a review. My friend had already shared his experience, and that was going to be the end of it. However, after reading the owner’s public response, which was full of sweeping accusations without specifics and included the particularly theatrical claim that our table “should have been asked to leave at the first instance of the behaviour,” I felt the need to clarify what actually happened. If that is truly what they believed, I genuinely wish they had said something at the time. We would have happily gone somewhere else and spared everyone whatever imaginary crisis they thought was unfolding. To clarify our experience: • No inappropriate comments were made. • No one spoke to staff disrespectfully. • No disturbance occurred at any point. • Staff raised absolutely no concern with us during the meal. • When we asked directly, no explanation was provided. • All accusations afterward were vague and unverifiable. If the restaurant genuinely believes something inappropriate occurred, they are welcome, at last, to specify exactly what it was. They did not do so on the night, and they have not done so since. The only inappropriate behaviour we witnessed came from the staff, not the guests. We will not be returning, and I sincerely hope the next group’s greatest offence is not asking the same question twice.

18/03/2026: There's not enough space, so you're forced to eat quickly and leave. Besides, the guard is always in a bad mood and has little patience.

22/03/2026: Had a 1 night stay in Rafters for a hen party, there were 23 of us and I can't think of one negative thing to say. Gerry was an absolute lifesaver he gave us a great deal, we had a private room for an activity on arrival, dinner, bed and breakfast. Everything was absolutely perfect. Any questions I had when planning the night away Gerry was only an email/phone call away and responded so fast. We were a large group and our dinners all came out at the one time the service was amazing. Dinner and breakfast was so delicious. I can't wait to return in the future!

18/03/2026: Lovely, sleeping above the pub. It is not a luxury hotel, but it is exactly what you can expect from the description. It is clean, has good beds, and a nice shower. The staff is friendly and helpful. The food is very good and the atmosphere is super cozy. The location is perfect, about a 5 to 10 minute walk from just about all the sights.

15/02/2026: I was there with my partner to celebrate Valentine's Day, and from the moment we walked in, the receptionist was unfriendly. Before coming, we made sure they could pay in cash, and they had to call the manager to resolve the issue and allow us to pay that way. At the restaurant we had to return a dessert three times because we made it very clear from the beginning that we wanted a simple dessert, and when we had to check out, they were equally rude. Therefore, I absolutely do not recommend it.

24/09/2025: Absolutely love this coffee it is all I drink with years and this morning I found a stone in my whole beans. My sage machine nearly broke over this. A terrible noise coming from the grinder and I took it all apart to find a stone that looked just like a bean must have been put through the roast also as it has that coating to it. Not a great way to start the morning. Could have cost me a fortune also if I kept trying to grind the beans.
