28/09/2026: We visited the rooftop at Claregalway Hotel for my mum's 60th birthday, and WOW, what an experience! Unfortunately, the Irish weather wasn't on our side, so we didn't get to enjoy the rooftop views, but that honestly didn't matter because the service was absolutely unbelievable. A HUGE shoutout to Jacopo, Sonia and Bigo! What an incredible team. They genuinely couldn't have done more for us. So friendly, brilliant craic and just went above and beyond to make sure we had the best time. They made my mum feel so special, and that's exactly what you want when celebrating a big birthday. The cocktails were absolutely amazing, and we had such a laugh with the team. It's the people who make a place, and these three really made our visit. We were only in Galway for the weekend, but we're already planning to come back. Hopefully next time we'll get some sunshine and enjoy those rooftop views! Thank you again to Jacopo, Sonia and Bigo. An absolute credit to Claregalway Hotel. We couldn't recommend it enough!

18/07/2026: Ordered Party Food from Miss Ellie's! It was fabulous- all the guests were raving about it! Food arrived fresh and hot.

16/07/2026: We recently got party food delivered from Amy at Miss Ellies for my sons Christening, food was outstanding. We are 15 minutes drive from town the food arrived dead on time and was piping hot. We got more food than we needed there wasnt a thing left, all our guests complimented how good the food was and the mini battered sausages were a massive hit. I wouldn't go anywhere else now for party food and ive often attended events where Miss Ellies supplied the food and its always been delicious.

01/08/2026: Had this Indian takeaway a few times now and I have to say that it's lovely. Had the mixed kebab in the naan bread and tried their different chicken dishes witch did not dissapoint. Regarding the kebab I have to say that its massive and hard to finish but really good portion for the price. Can't recommend it enough 👍

28/07/2026: We had a fantastic experience at Pure Indian Takeaway. Every dish was full of flavour, especially the paneer lababdar, dal makhani and the starters. The quality is top‑notch and the prices are very reasonable.

26/08/2026: This is a review update from my previous post where I suggested a few minor improvements, with my feedback being fully received by the owners and the team. I'm really happy to say that everything's back to perfect now. The service, the team working behind it, the quality of food, and its value are simply among the best in Dublin. You've got to try everything they have on the menu! From great burgers, each with its own style, to fantastic fries and chicken tenders (habanero peach and lemon pepper are my favourites!), there's plenty to choose from. I keep saying those are the best you'll be able to find anywhere around. Worth travelling there for a meal!

29/06/2026: Great shop with a very nice deli. Staff are always friendly and helpful. Great selection of pizza bases, sausages and rashers in the fridge

12/05/2026: Found myself in Blackrock today and happened across On a Platter Deli. The coffee is so good I can't even begin to describe it, I would drive out of my way just for another one really soon. Had a beautiful sandwich which was freshly made and have to say 10 out of 10 all round. The service was super, happy and attentive staff, the selection was more than ample (everything from Vegan delights to meat lovers dreams) and the real family feel to the shop means I would definitely be back. Thank you On a Platter for making my day.

14/08/2026: Eugene's is the best bar in the area. Always a friendly welcome and a lovely pint of stout in a clean, bright and warm environment. My favourite of Shandon Street locals 🫶🏻🍻

22/09/2026: Wholesome Irish Breakfast with coffee and Toast included. Pure Breakfast orange with brown bread and marmalade instead of butter which I can't eat.

15/09/2026: Tried first time today . Take away spicy chicken Ciabatta, , around 6 euro, yummy, fresh soft bread and grilled chicken with some veggies and tasty sauce, overall perfect, cafe itself is very nice to sit there, staff is lovely.

23/06/2026: My partner and I booked a two night stay here as we were taking part in the Waterford Viking Marathon. Reception staff and bar staff were lovely and friendly. We found the breakfast service on the morning of the Marathon very disorganised and there was a very rude and aggressive young blonde waitress. We very much didn't appreciate this before our Marathon. Breakfast the following morning however was a much better experience with far nicer staff members. Food is ok. A side dish listed on the menu was not available to order, but then offered with the fish dish was a bit peculiar. Great location but rooms were nothing special and no complimentary water provided in the rooms.

28/05/2026: Was at a communion the service was chaotic sn all over thr place an it wasnt that big of a crowd in the room id say 5p to 60 peoplr max somr of the food was cold asked for a baby bowl csme out with a full plate for a 6 month old an charged no wont be back

15/12/2025: We had a breakfast here for two days (Saturday and Sunday). Both days we really enjoyed the view. What surprised me is that both days I ordered the same, but I liked the sandwich as well as the hot chocolate more the first day. The second day I was a bit disappointed, it wasn’t the same. Even though, really nice staff and a lovely place to enjoy your meal. Santa sandwich for 9€ and hot chocolate for 4€.

02/09/2026: Beware the fixed price menu! We had eaten here a couple of months ago and enjoyed it, and thought it a good place for a group of 11 on a Monday night when we had family visiting. They forced a fixed price menu on us. Restricted menus are normally cheaper than A la Carte, but this was €55 for 2 courses while the exact same food I ordered the previous trip was €31.50! Factor in the compulsory service charge and the price was 96% higher! If our group had split up into couples on 6 separate tables we could have ordered whatever we wanted, it would have been significantly cheaper, and at the same time substantially more work for the restaurant. My family were gob-smacked and I felt terrible for suggesting it. I assume these price-gouging menus for groups are aimed at corporate events. If that's not you, give this a wide berth.

20/08/2026: Service was ok. Food quite poor. Nice enough chips. Had steak sandwich, steak was overcooked, very very thin, so I guess nearly impossible to cook it medium rare. Had to ask for pepper sauce as it didn't come with it. Definitely the stingiest steak in a steak sandwich I have ever had. Person serving us was apologetic about the steak being well done rather than medium rare. Due to the time constraints, I didn't send the sandwich back and eat and paid for it. Mushroom vol-au-vent was tasty, but contained very little chicken. The pub must be in the serious cost cutting stage as prices are on par with everywhere else but very little protein for your money here. Card machine didn't work (signs displayed so assume that machine doesn't work permanently). We had to pay for food and drinks separately even though everything was ordered and served together. All in all, would not go back and regretted eating here. Do not recommend for more than chips and a drink.

14/08/2026: Lovely staff bus service a bit chaotic on Sunday. Food very good. Pity a glass of Chardonnay was so bad - undrinkable actually!

30/08/2026: One of the best places I tasted shawarma of all kinds was delicious and had its own flavor. The sandwich was full of meat or chicken with their own sauce A meal for children was delicious and enough for two children I highly recommend it

26/08/2026: I had lunch with a friend here a few days ago and it was good! The portion size is decent for the price, one of the staff came in with his glasses with flash on and asked how the food was, and after we answered he asked if we're cool with being recorded. I do not have an issue with it but he should've asked this question BEFORE recording people coz it feels like he put us on the spot. Other than that, he was a nice guy, good service. You have to pay at the counter after you're done and I didn't feel like anyone was rushing us to leave which is always good to experience in such a busy side of town.
