The best restaurants

03/09/2026: The service was great, the woman in front was very welcoming and took my order straight away. The noodles here were delicious but I would avoid getting the chicken balls and the chips. Below average and tasted bland. The 4in1 included noodles instead of rice, chips, curry sauce and chicken balls, in total cost €11.90 and no drink included in the meal.

30/07/2026: Solid chipper, nice chicken fillet burger meal, garlic sauce was good, cod meal , very fresh and excellent real cod !!! Mild Curry sauce was epic old school !! 0 complaints. Very good chipper.

02/08/2026: Went for a nice getaway with friends and this place was definitely worth a visit! Had high quality food for a good price and the portions were great for sharing and me and my friends left with a full stomach, I’d honestly love to have dinner here everyday if I could 😂

27/06/2026: Having heard lots about this place, I had to check it out. The food is fairly good. I would say above average chicken wings. Wing sauce is lacking. The curry I had was a bit on the bland side. Their pad thai spring rolls, again a bit bland. Prawn crackers are premium and come with their own dip. I would probably have returned for the wings alone, but for two bug bears- It is (in my view) fairly overpriced. The wings, plus two large spring rolls, plus 1 curry, 1 rice was just approaching 40 quid. Bear in mind this is from a food van in a car park. Secondly, the order which had been placed online was handed to me, and in the same motion I was told I could tip her by card. A tip? For handing me my 3 items in a bag? This isn't America lads. Like an absolute ejit I tipped anyway, because of course I did. I won't be back unfortunately. Still, 3 stars as I got the food I asked for, and I ate it and it was grand.

09/09/2026: Hello everyone. My name is Tudor and I want to share with you how it was at Grand Italian Pizzeria. On 5/09/25 at 9pm, my wife and two minor children entered this place. We ordered two salads, an assorted fish dish, two glasses of wine and a children's fanta and two pizzas as a hot meal. We received the appetizer and were waiting for the pizza, we waited 40 min because the staff prepared an order of 6 pizzas taken online, although we ordered first we were served last after they finished their online order to which the staff did not come with an explanation. The children were hungry they said they could not wait any longer and we as parents were fed up: horrible, deceived, humiliated, ignored, disrespected. Without an apology they brought the pizza after 40 minutes of which I as a parent did not eat as a sign of protest. Conclusion: I DO NOT RECOMMEND, but if you go to this place, set the order preparation time and be careful as you may have unwanted experiences!

24/08/2026: This place is a hidden gem. I went here years ago during my vacation, and it was the best Margherita pizza I have ever eaten.

13/07/2026: Came for dinner. Kids got the cheese pizza and chicken with fries. I got the seafood chowder for a starter and it was delicious and had nice large chucks of seafood in it. My wife and I shared the butter chicken was great. The sauce they used was really good and our daughter used it to dip her chicken in it because she liked it so much.

09/09/2026: The staff are very pleasant, but the cleanliness needs improvement; there were gnats buzzing around the plate. The pasta was dry, and the cheese quickly became rubbery. It's a shame.

26/08/2026: We were disappointed by the food from sharky’s. Fish was overcooked and the batter was too thick. Chips were greasy and not crispy. Chicken strips tasted fishy. The service was good and quick but unfortunately we would not come back based on the food

08/07/2026: So much more than an Italian restaurant! Swithered between the roast duck + mash and the hake on a bed of seafood risotto. Went for hake and it was fab. Other meal is creamy lemon chicken, loads of great sauce. Great list of desserts too.

06/06/2026: I chose this upstairs restaurant for a late lunch, and was really glad I did! The barn-like interior, with its timbered ceiling and whitewashed walls, recalled this building's former use as stables and grain store for the castle. It was spacious and clean, with comfortable chairs. The restaurant is self-service, and there was a decent choice of hot meals as well as a cold counter with quiches, jumbo sausage rolls, smoked salmon and various salads. I chose the cold poached salmon with green salad in a balsamic dressing, coleslaw, and grated carrot with raisins. The salmon was the best I'd eaten for a long time, chunky, moist and sprinkled with herbs, and the salads were very fresh and flavourful. The young man who served me at the counter was both charming and helpful. Would have liked to try one of the desserts but I was much too full! My lunch was not cheap but what you would expect to pay for a meal of this quality. Would heartily recommend!

04/05/2026: I had such a wonderful experience at the Kilkenny Design Centre Café, and I felt compelled to share it. From the moment we arrived, everything was warm and welcoming, but what truly made our visit stand out was a staff member named Kate. Kate went above and beyond to make sure my family and I were comfortable and well looked after. She was incredibly friendly, attentive, and genuinely seemed to love what she does—it really shows in how she interacts with customers. She also had great knowledge of the coffee menu and offered helpful recommendations that we all enjoyed. It’s rare to come across service that leaves such a lasting impression, but Kate absolutely did that for us. She made our visit feel special, and we’ll definitely be returning again!!! Highly recommend this café, not just for the lovely setting and food, but for the exceptional staff.
