The best restaurants

13/02/2025: Long wait for staff member to appear at hot lunch counter. Food was good but only lukewarm. Long wait in queue to pay while food was getting colder and staff member couldn’t work the checkout system. Return for coffee after lunch long wait in queue to pay. This place could do so much better and I feel this every time I visit - which isn’t very often. Zero management.

24/03/2025: Wonderful location with local music and bar. They had a restaurant but we didn't eat there. Rooms were cozy and you couldn't hear the music. Would stay again.

19/03/2025: The big room, the big bed, we had a room very far away and we had to go through many doors. There was no room in the parking lot.

30/03/2025: My and my husband waited over an hour for the food, we then rang up and they said it was on the way. We rang up again another 20 minutes later - it turned out the employee lied and they were on putting it on and they were busy as they forgot or it didn’t print no gesture of goodwill I am a customer there my whole life absolutely horrible customer service 🤮

13/02/2025: Got home to discover the salt and vinegar ratio was about 90:10 in favour of the salt option (very heavy handed with the salt). Chips are good, if just a little dry and pale.

02/03/2025: Do people still go to this Chinese? Heard a poor lad saying he used to get paid €60 for a busy Saturday and had to split his tips with the rest of the staff—to help the owner afford a Mercedes to drive. It’s an absolute disgrace!

01/03/2025: Fantastic food, fantastic staff,we had a meal there Friday night no hassle fitting us in even though we hadn’t booked and restaurant was full.the range of gluten free food was amazing and our waitress Wendy was very knowledgeable about cross contamination and food intolerance, the staff were very friendly. We would definitely recommend the gourmet palace for its welcoming atmosphere and cleanliness, toilets were spotless.definitely a 10 out of 10. Looking forward to our return visit.

08/11/2024: Got a 12 inch munchie box. Unfortunately the rice and curry are in the box so they take up a third of the box, with the 8 inches left in the box it was mostly chips, besides two spring rolls, two chicken balls and a few scrawny pieces of crispy chicken. So pretty much it was an expensive box of chips. The food I did get was nothing to rave about, but still not bad. I won’t be going back. It was desperate munchie box.

18/04/2025: Everything was so delicious. My preferences were followed, and the prawn masala was delicious as well as the pilau rice. I ordered online for pick up and it was quickly ready. The man upfront was also very kind. Definitely recommend if you want some flavorful fresh food in this area.

14/02/2025: Use these a lot for take-away. Today is Valentine's Day and they had an offer on for 15% off. We decided to use them. It's now not even 7pm and I've received an email to say the offer is so popular it's cancelled. Should have just converted it to a voucher that could be used over the next week, they would still have got our custom - now they won't...

19/04/2025: Apatche wanabe. Never had worst pizza in my life. I did seen more stuff on super market frozen pizza. Staff may or may not understand you over phone. Burgers are wrap so tight that when you get to them they are like pancake. ALL ITEMS OVERPRICED! It's not a restaurant it is a WASTE OF MONEY!

14/04/2025: Another disappointing order from this restaurant. We have eaten from here before with varying success. The last order was for a chicken chicken goujon kebab which arrived as a donor kebab. We don’t eat lamb. Plus the delivery charge had jumped from the usual €4 to €10! This was only to the Glannagilliagh NS area. This weekend, we thought we’d try again as we had some family down - this time 4 x chicken goujon kebab meals - put the order through via phone to triple check they understood what I was ordering…nope, 4 donor kebab meals… Plus I checked the price including delivery online and was told €54.50. Ok, it’s dear but the delivery was the €4 included. When they arrived - €64.50!!!!! When I opened the bag inside the receipt for was €54.50 including €4 delivery - so somebody is lying to us somewhere along the line!! I should be telling the consumer ombudsman. So I paid €14.00 for delivery of 4 meals I didn’t order. Just wrote it off on Saturday as we had travelled and were too tired for the phone calls it would take. It’s better to let others know what they’re facing. This is problem when there is little to no competition.

30/03/2025: This is really a fun place and if you don’t have a lot of money, you can actually go there and play board games for free. All age groups were there.

25/02/2025: food and drink is unreal and their game selection is incredible plenty of rhythm games and their fighting game cabinets are well maintaned

12/04/2025: Spent 33 euros on the worst meal ever, sausage were disgusting out of a packet from a shop! Bacon was that black from the dirty hotplate, egg was the only edible thing. Staff are uninterested In service no communication when they approach your table just drop everything at the table and leave. Will never be back and will make sure everyone I know avoids at all costs.

03/12/2024: Ordered a burger and it's a sad excuse for what could be called a burger. More like a kids meal size with a really thin patty.

14/10/2024: Disgusting. 2 time in a row getting awful food here. This time, sausages were frozen cold, and the toast had actual mould all over it. Got up and walked out and never going back. Worst place I've been too and when U consider the competition up the road in carrigaline etc surprised this place is still open. Tbh, based on the disgusting nonsense served today, I'll probably report them to FSA

25/09/2024: Really poor service all of the waiters were miserable and wouldn't let us order breakfast 20min before time or order lunch so we just had to wait and the food wasn't great unfortunately.

15/04/2025: bought a munchie box its like they just threw all the msg and salt they had in the store onto it , disgusting tbh

18/03/2025: Absolutely disgusting took over hour to deliver they said 30-40 minutes than food came freezing than they sent me fresh food and it Was thrown together absolutely horrible chicken horrible chips once again freezing and noodles were terrible this used to be a lovely Chinese gone down hill so much won’t be ordering again was not eating

30/04/2025: Lovvvvve kaleli kebabs. The staff are absolutely amazing and so friendly. Love having the chats with them, their food is unreal and i adore going there. As does My son. Definitely the best fast food in tralee without a doubt. Their meat is the best around.

05/04/2025: I know my Turkish kebabs and this is a proper Turkish kebab shop. Best in Tralee I'm sure.

15/02/2025: Decided to give it a try after driving past it many times. Hate writing a bad review when restaurants are struggling, especially in provincial towns, away from big city centres, but this was one of the worst meals I have had in a long time. Tandoori Chicken starter was tasteless. Samosa was frozen. possibly from Aldi across the road. 2 main courses didn’t improve matters. Pilau rice was microwaved in a pouch. Cannot describe the prawn curry other than to say it came in a Pyrex bowl, and looked like it was four prawns with a jar of something thrown over it. No red wine, coke was flat. Place was freezing. Indian restaurants generally have managed to retain some degree of authenticity and craft when compared to their Chinese counterparts, but I am afraid New Moon is bucking that trend. Terrible experience.

21/12/2024: Very disappointed. Takeaway was put in the bin. The mains very very oily. Second time trying... never again.
