The best restaurants

14/08/2026: Lovely restaurant. Has a very good local reputation for good food. Lovely ambience. However, consideration for a new customer arriving for the first time is really poor. There is no indication at the door whether one must wait to be seated or not, so the first option is just to stand in the doorway, in the way, and feeling foolish. As no staff member approaches, second option is to move to an empty table with menus on it. Catch the eye of a staff member who is not friendly, to be told snappily that the table is reserved. Nothing on the table to indicate that this is the case. Table with one chair in the middle of the floor and flow of traffic offered. No query as to whether this would suit. Sit for a moment, feel really uncomfortable so stand up and leave as requesting an alternative table does not seem like an option, due to the unfriedliness of the staff member. If one must wait to be seated, this needs to be indicated. If a table is reserved, this needs to be clearly indicated. Two easy fixes. As for the unfriendliness of staff... perhaps that person was just having a bad day. The next experience at The Lime Tree might be lovely.

28/07/2026: What a lovely little cafe. Decor really nice. I had a chicken Caesar wrap which was lovely. & a bowl of soup. My partner had a blt which he said was really nice & soup. When we arrived we were told the fryer was broken so no chips. Bit disappointed but the food was lovely so no big deal. I will be back to try the chips!! We also tried the rhubarb lemonade and omg it was gorgeous. So refreshing and had a very sweet taste!! We also had warm apple pie which was lovely. believe it had an outdoor area and is dog friendly. I would definitely recommend this place. Plenty on the menu for everyone. I thought the price was really good too for what we got.

23/08/2026: We ordered food for a family gathering including a birthday cake. Staff couldn’t have been more helpful especially considering we had several coeliacs to cater for. Birthday cake, gluten free cake and the party food were absolutely delicious - highly recommend Ellen’s.

02/08/2026: We stopped for lunch on our way home from our week's holiday in the Louisburg area, I had the chowder which was delicious, staff are so welcoming and helpful. Well worth a visit .

10/08/2026: Very cute little spot for coffee and cake. Definitely recommend if your in the area. We were only outside for about 10 mins but plenty of locals were in and out while we were there. Lovely atmosphere outside on a sunny morning.

26/08/2026: This lovely, quaint cafe sits just off the main road and has some very nice menu selections, friendly staff and a great relaxed atmosphere. Definitely worth a visit.

21/08/2026: VERY DISSAPPOINTED TODAY AN ALWAYS HAD SAID THIS WAS A GREAT HOUSE FOR FOOD BUT AFTER TODAY WONT B RETURNING COS ALL MY FOOD WAS ALL FROM FROZEN EVEN THE CHIPS WERE JUST STRAIGHT OUT OF THE FREEZER VERY BAD

21/08/2026: Very disappointed, usually top marks when visiting but ate here today and not pleased at all. The food was frozen and not the best flavour wise, other family members plates were also frozen food 😒 literally had a plate of frozen chips with my 'main' as the side. Not happy and won't be returning sadly.

01/09/2026: Excessive expensive for the small and simple portions, I researched a lot to find a nice place to try high quality food and this place disappointed me a lot. The portions says for 2/3 ppl and they are super tiny and the quality is not good, 50 euro to receive a raw filet , I ordered the duck leg and I received a super tiny-dry duck leg for 30 euro, and the platter that was super salty and not even fresh. The only good thing was the drinks. I asked the waitress since I thought they made a mistake when I saw the tiny portion and she laughed at me. I will never go back to this place. Atmosphere is fine, moderate music and it’s very quiet. Tables are very close and feel uncomfortable to speak without listening to others conversation.

31/07/2026: Really extensive wine list and the food is good too. They even have Georgian wine which I believe is hard to come by in Dublin! Good location and atmos too.

03/07/2026: My wife and I were visiting Ireland for five nights and were looking for somewhere special to have breakfast. Thankfully, my wife came across Alma, and from the moment we walked in we knew we’d found a gem. From start to finish, the whole experience was outstanding. The staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming and attentive. A special mention has to go to the gentleman who was organising all the tables and seating – he was fantastic and made everyone feel welcome while keeping everything running so smoothly. Every member of staff went above and beyond, and the food was absolutely delicious. We loved it so much that it became our go-to breakfast spot, and we ended up coming back every single morning during our stay. Not once over the five visits were we disappointed. The food, coffee, service and atmosphere were consistently exceptional every single time. If you’re looking for the perfect breakfast or brunch in Dublin, I honestly couldn’t recommend Alma highly enough. We’ll definitely be back the next time we’re in Ireland!

03/07/2026: I was here 3 years ago and gave it a 5-star review. But I went back again yesterday and was disappointed. I ordered the choripan argento. I asked if I could swap the eggs for something else as I can't eat them. They said no. So I ended up paying €16.40 for one small slice of toast, with some salsa and one sausage. I was still hungry leaving. They tried to push a to go coffee when we were paying.

10/08/2026: Fun? Yes. But make sure to get not to drunk otherwise you are not in the correct spot. And if you do not notice, they will.let you know. Anyway a fun place and good service.

10/09/2026: Ordered food from here and it was so good, portions were really good as well and you get loads for what you pay. Everything tasted unreal, would 100% recommend giving it a try. Definitely one of the nicest takeaways I’ve had in a while and will be ordering again

06/09/2026: Definitely the most flavorful meal I’ve had in Ireland so far. Excellent service and a beautiful setting. Cannot recommend highly enough.

31/07/2026: I regularly eat at mani in pasta. Always a pleasure and food amazing.... always love trying new dishes. Was there wednesday evening even though they were busy staff were so helpful .my favourite italian
