Barrons Bakery
Cappoquin
08/07/2026: I was walking to the shop when I was approached by some lovely American tourists, they asked me if there was somewhere they could get food, so I suggested Barron's Bakery and when I saw them later on they said thank you for the recommendation, they had one of the best meals they've had in Ireland so far! So if that doesn't tell you how wonderful Barron's Bakery is I don't know what else to say👍🏼😁💜
06/06/2026: Always a great place for breakfast or lunch.

The Art of Coffee
Dublin
28/05/2026: On Thursday, 28 May at approximately 3:10 PM, three colleagues and I — professionals from nearby offices — visited The Art of Coffee. We are from different countries, but Russian is the common language we can speak. All of us made our orders in English and at no point were we loud, disruptive, or discussing politics.
We were speaking Russian in the queue, a young female barista with brown hair abruptly asked us to stop speaking Russian inside the café. When I asked why the language was a problem, she referenced the war in Ukraine and personal family loss. While one can sympathise with personal tragedy, it does not justify hostility toward peaceful customers because of the language they speak.
The situation escalated when I was questioned about whether Russian was “really” my language. When I asked for the barista’s name and requested to speak with management, she refused to identify herself and confidently stated that the manager “hates Russian language and anything Russian,” adding that we could only speak to management another day.
This felt openly discriminatory and hateful on the basis of language and perceived nationality. In an international city like Dublin, nobody should feel unwelcome for peacefully speaking their native language in private conversation. Such discriminatory and hateful comments can be rightfully escalated to the appropriate city or equality authorities.
It is especially disappointing given the café’s visible support for Ukraine, a country associated with European values such as tolerance and respect for linguistic and cultural diversity.
We left peacefully after paying, but the experience was deeply disappointing and unacceptable.
18/03/2026: Great atmosphere and lovely barista. Will be back here again :)

Stoop Your Head
Skerries
26/07/2026: Lovely place fab views staff are really nice and helpful. Fish is their speciality as you would expect beside the sea.
26/07/2026: Dishes we ordered and shared between two of us were- appetiser mussels which were Perfectly steamed and a generous size. Seafood chowder was the standout. Lots of seafood and a flavourful, rich broth. Cod&Chips - the cod was a bit bland but perfectly cooked. The batter was excellent.
Service was a bit slow however the atmosphere on a late weekday afternoon was fantastic. Ask for a table by the window but do know if it’s sunny and hot out, you will be hot seated there.
Was our second time and we will be back.

China Sichuan, menu
Dublin
10/07/2026: Upon recommendation we attended China Sichuan with family group of 7. Located in Sandyford in a rather unusual and built up location which was an unfished fit of the Celtic Tiger the resteraunt. From the exterior is very understated situated in the ground floor of a high rise apartment block. Parking can be a little tricky here so bare this in mind.
Service was excellent from when we entered the door. The atmosphere was extremely relaxed with perfect lighting. This is not your run of the mill Chinese restaurant. Expect to pay handsomely when you come here. The food was absolutely delicious. My son who is a fairly picky eater is unlikely to stop talking about the iberico spare ribs for a long time. I had a little taste of his and I can see why. I tried the lettuce wraps. The taste was perfectly balanced and a perfect light start before My main of ginger and garlic Aubergine... Sublime. Everyone finished there plates and were beaming after the main courses. For 3 course for all but two. 4 alcoholic drinks. 2nteas and coffees it came to 560 euro with a 12% service charge. I would recommend this for a special occasion as it is expensive..however they do have a takeaway a few doors up and if it's anything like the resteraunt I would certainly try this on a more regular occasion. Thanks you China Sichuan for a delicious and memorable meal.
08/06/2026: The food was good and the service was excellent.

Connemara Coast Hotel
Na forbacha
30/06/2026: The Connemara Coast Hotel delivers exactly what its name promises: a stunning setting right on the water, with views that made the stay memorable from the moment we arrived. Our room carried that same charm, offering its own lovely outlook along with a genuinely comfortable bed and quality bedding that made for restful nights after long days exploring.
The one frustration was the shower's temperature control. Despite a label claiming it was preset to the optimal temperature, I found myself constantly adjusting between too hot and too cold, never quite landing on something comfortable. It's a small thing, but it's worth a mention since these overly engineered systems often end up less user-friendly than a simple dial.
That minor gripe aside, everything else about the stay was excellent. The staff were consistently friendly and helpful, the dinner and breakfast offerings were both very good, and the bar area had a lively, welcoming buzz to it in the evenings. The only other consideration is location: the hotel sits a little outside of town, so don't expect much in the way of nearby restaurants or shops if you're hoping to wander on foot.
Overall, a wonderful stay with beautiful views, great food, and warm hospitality — just be patient with the shower.
06/06/2026: Attended a wedding here recently after not visiting the venue for many years. I was delightful to see the rooms have been refurbished, but the character and friendliness I remembered roundly remained. I would be very happy to revisit in the future.

Masala
Dublin
19/07/2026: This is easily our favourite takeaway in the area! The food is always great and the staff are so friendly. We especially like the onion bhaji, butter chicken and methi gosht (lamb). 10/10 always
14/06/2026: The food here is absolutly amazing. I have being ordering for years and any dish I have ordered here has been delicious. I have ordered from other Indian take aways and I must say this one beats them all. The staff and the delivery service is first class. I would recomned the Tikka Masala or the Butter Chicken.
