The best restaurants

22/08/2026: My boyfriend and I visited Bardoe Pizza this evening and had a really disappointing experience. We arrived before another family and sat down since there were menus on the tables and no staff greeted us or explained a system. While we were reading the menu, a family of four arrived after us, spoke briefly to staff, and sat down. I went up to order and was told they were sold out. When I pointed out that we’d been there first, the staff member looked at the family, asked how many of them would be dining and then told me, “yeah, sorry, they asked first.” That was the part that I found really frustrating. The family hadn’t even ordered yet, but because they’d spoken to staff first, they were given priority over us, who had actually arrived first. I totally understand a small place selling out, that’s fair enough. But what I don’t accept is a lack of clear system. If customers need to, declare they’re dining in the moment they walk through the door, then someone should actually explain that. We ended up leaving without any dinner despite arriving first. Very disappointing and not an experience I’d recommend.

02/07/2026: Our stay here was great! When you first walk in you realize how large and relaxing the property is. They offer to take the luggage to the room, bring ice to the room and assist you in any needs for your stay. The stand out staff member here was Jeeva. We wanted a table by the water and unfortunately we did not make reservations so we sat in the bar area. But luckily that’s where we had Jeeva as our server and her whole demeanor was kind. We asked for recommendations on the menu and everything was a home run. We even watched her trail after someone’s child that was off leash cleaning each Cheerio left by the beast on all fours and she did it with a smile. The only thing I will say is the room had some minor things I noticed, children finger prints on the glass in the room, sticky residue on the top of the inside part of a drawer and a tile was loose in the bathroom. But if you’re not neurotic like me you won’t even notice these things! Overall a 5/5.

30/06/2026: The Connemara Coast Hotel delivers exactly what its name promises: a stunning setting right on the water, with views that made the stay memorable from the moment we arrived. Our room carried that same charm, offering its own lovely outlook along with a genuinely comfortable bed and quality bedding that made for restful nights after long days exploring. The one frustration was the shower's temperature control. Despite a label claiming it was preset to the optimal temperature, I found myself constantly adjusting between too hot and too cold, never quite landing on something comfortable. It's a small thing, but it's worth a mention since these overly engineered systems often end up less user-friendly than a simple dial. That minor gripe aside, everything else about the stay was excellent. The staff were consistently friendly and helpful, the dinner and breakfast offerings were both very good, and the bar area had a lively, welcoming buzz to it in the evenings. The only other consideration is location: the hotel sits a little outside of town, so don't expect much in the way of nearby restaurants or shops if you're hoping to wander on foot. Overall, a wonderful stay with beautiful views, great food, and warm hospitality — just be patient with the shower.

25/08/2026: The food service and overall set up are really good. Really impressed until i went to use the toilets. The toilets are a disaster. I could only see two and they were soiled and very dirty. Company needs to address this. Perhaps have an attendant on toilet duty during busy times .

23/08/2026: Very fast pace extremely busy food was good but had to ask for our drink many times in the end we got up ourselves to get them.

23/07/2026: Best sandwich we had in our Ireland trip. We went for Salt of the Earth sandwich which is essentially avocado-sweet potato sandwich. Absolutely amazing. Great taste and very fresh. The staff was nice and friendly. Didn’t take much time to get our sandwich. There’s limited seating space with patio seating which is great on a sunny day. Definitely recommended.

11/08/2026: This was a rollercoaster of emotions. There aren't many Portuguese restaurants in Ireland so when me and my friends saw this one, we had a little hope at having some food from home. Even if we do live over 2h away from it. The restaurant itself looks like you stepped into a typical Portuguese tasca. That was good but then we had to wait almost two hours for the food to even arrive at the table! My friend asked the waitress for a few things and every single one of them wasn't available. And I'm not exaggerating. All of the very typical Portuguese items she asked for were out of stock. She ended up going with chips and mayo. My steak was beyond cooked. Shoe sole consistency and chewy. I ended up having the chips dipped in the very little sauce that came with it. Wasn't bad, just would've preferred the steak to be edible. My partner's meal was decent until we got to the desert. The chocolate mousse felt like wet sand and tasted a bit too artificial. I know chocolate mousse can be tricky to make but does it ever have wet sand consistency? Not that I'm aware of. At the end of the meal, the owner came to apologize. Apparently, they were incredibly understaffed that day. I'll be going there another time to see if it has changed.

08/08/2026: Went here today for dinner while out for the day . Doesn't look much but the food is fantastic and great portions . We got lamb cutlets . 5 cutlets in portion . Daughter got squid . Lovely . Son got curry . Sauce was lovely . Good value too

31/08/2026: We recently had takeaway from the New Haven (small kids in tow so we couldn’t wait for a table) and it was delicious! Everything came with a side salad and the chips were excellent! The kids had pizza and scoffed the lot.

30/08/2026: What a find casual dining at its best the sea bass was filleted and cooked perfectly. The Parma chicken was very tasty. Service is excellent. Staff are friendly.

06/09/2026: Such a beautiful little Lebanese spot with the cutest ambience and the most delicious food. ❤️ I absolutely loved everything here. The falafel plate was so fresh and flavourful, the baklawa was heavenly, and the Lebanese coffee was the perfect finishing touch. Every visit felt warm, comforting and so special. But what truly made this place memorable was the owner. He is genuinely one of the kindest and sweetest people, with such a warm and welcoming personality. You can really feel the passion and love he puts into what he does. He has a very special talent for making people feel at home. It’s something you don’t come across everywhere. I loved it so much that I’ve already been l twice, making sure I had it before I flew back. 🥹❤️ And I’m definitely coming back again. Thank you for the beautiful food, the warmth, and the lovely memories. Some places you visit for the food, but some you leave carrying a little piece of the experience with you. This is definitely one of those places. ..

06/09/2026: So glad I stopped by for a bite to eat while I looked around the market. The food was fantastic, so flavourful and comforting! The owner was very kind and welcoming. I hope to come back someday if I find myself visiting Ireland again :)
