The best restaurants

25/07/2026: Tipping in Ireland is not like the U.S. (unless you eat here). First place in 4 trips to Ireland that “automatically add 10% gratuity” and unlike the states, where automatic gratuities are added when the party size is 6 or more people, this is added regardless of party size. I always tip when here anyway, so not a big deal, just never saw that anywhere but here. Food was wonderful, service good. Our first time here MANY years ago was to a bar… they have redone the place since and completely different vibe as mainly a restaurant with a tiny bar.

25/07/2026: Food and service was second to none.

02/08/2026: Had the carvery for Sunday lunch. Food was nice, reasonably priced with good portion sizes. Could have been a bit hotter.

05/08/2026: What an exceptionally cozy and atmospheric little restaurant we discovered during our 14-day stay in Ramelton. I had already marked it with a star on my Google Maps, and it turns out that this little gem more than deserves its stars! The reservation didn't go very smoothly as we had very poor Wi-Fi, but we eventually managed to secure a table for four that same day by calling them. The welcome was warm, and the atmosphere pleasant and cozy. Everything on the menu looked delicious, partly due to the professional explanations from the jovial waiter who pampered us all evening. An excellent wine list also contributed to a very successful culinary evening! In short, a total experience! It is a shame to hear that this restaurant is closing its doors in September, so for anyone still wanting to secure a spot: don't hesitate!

26/07/2026: Incredible dining experience, food and service was 5 star from start to finish, I think the vegetarian main was one of the best vegetarian meals I have ever enjoyed, brilliant choice of wines and cocktails 😁

The food was spectacular and we really enjoyed it. The atmosphere was great, the staff were very polite, and it was a night full of fun with the bingo. We would definitely go back again.

10/05/2026: Lovely service let a group of wheelchair user us the beer garden. Put the heaters on as it was a dry chilly day. Service was excellent. Best sticky toffee pudding I ever had.

10/05/2026: Astonishing experience, the food was beyond of superb, staff attentive and friendly since we stepped into the pub. The atmosphere preserve all the goods from their region. I highly recommend all intens in the menu, specifically the chowder and the mussels. If you are around do not miss this restaurant. Well done to the whole team.

The food was absolutely top‑class, full of flavour and great portions. Prices were very reasonable for the quality you get. A brilliant experience from start to finish. Staff, food, and price all 💯.

14/06/2026: Came back to this great eating pub after 6 years, really friendly welcome,had onion rings for starters and huge sirloin steaks cooked rare for main, the onion rings were really freshly cooked,hot and crispy and the steaks were cooked to perfection and tasted great,one of the best steaks I have had in a long time, all the staff are helpful and friendly and I can't recommend this place enough,it does get busy at peak evening times but they turn the tables round really quickly, not the cheapest meal but so worth it.

22/07/2026: Canal Bank Café is a great place for a quick meal. The food is fresh, tasty, and served promptly, making it ideal if you're looking for something satisfying without a long wait. The staff are genuinely friendly, welcoming, and attentive, creating a relaxed atmosphere from the moment you walk in. The décor is simple and basic, but clean, comfortable, and perfectly suited to the café's casual style. If you're after good food, efficient service, and a pleasant experience, this is definitely a spot worth visiting. I'll happily return whenever I'm in the area.

19/07/2026: Stopped by this very nice place just for coffee and had one of the best mochas. It was really good but most of all it had the perfect temperature 🌡️ and was able to drink it right away 😁 We sat outside but went inside for the order and payment and I really liked the atmosphere and from a few glimpses on the plates the food looked really good as well. The staff was very nice - I would like to get back and try some of their food as well

16/07/2026: The food here is great except the pho. I ordered a Vietnamese pho and was brought dishwater soup. The soup tasted like nothing no flavor, no authenticity, completely bland. The beef was also tasteless, another huge disappointment. The vegetables in the dish is just a disgrace to Vietnamese culture. Would definitely not order this again. Please save yourselves and your tastebuds from this godforsaken dishwater soup.

19/06/2026: My experience at The French Table was truly spectacular. The staff were very courteous when I walked into the restaurant, and there were no lapses in this courtesy during the meal. I was trying French food for one of the first times and also trying a few other first-time meals, and the restaurant staff were extremely helpful in providing descriptions of the different options, as well as instructions on how to enjoy the meal. The delicious food and excellent service were consistent throughout. Each of the meals was appetizing to the eyes and to the tongue and had an elegant, thoughtful execution and design for the service. The prices for the meals were very reasonably set for the experience. I will definitely rate The French Table as a must-visit for a delicious meal in a nice atmosphere combined with the best service. I am excited to try the restaurant again!

11/07/2026: We had a lovely evening with Glen, who was not just charismatic and energetic but at the same time knowledgeable. We could really unterstand and feel his passion for mixology, have learned a lot and had a blast

13/06/2026: What an experience. Glenn was a great host, explaining how they make their different Gins, we got to make our very own flavoured Gin which now doubt will taste great when we get home. Could not recommend this place enough for all the Gin lovers out there

27/07/2026: A pub with a fantastic local atmosphere. Everyone knows each other, and everyone is friendly and welcoming. We felt like we belonged. A memorable time with music.
