23/05/2026: Surprisingly the fish tacos were fantastic. It’s hard to find bad fish in Ireland so I didn’t judge it by the fish. The jalapeño mayo and fresh salsa really paired well and were the real winner. The seafood Chowder and Buttermilk Chicken burger were great as well. Well done Anchor!

08/05/2026: Vacationing in Ireland from TX for a week. Came across this place while making a pit stop. I’m glad I did. Best seafood chowder that I could find anywhere in Ireland (and N Ireland for that matter), and I tried at least a dozen different places throughout. Didn’t get his name, but the ma with glasses in some of the photos was super friendly and helpful on helping us navigate some additional places to see in Ireland. It’s a very unassuming place, but a must-stop if you’re anywhere in the general area. There’s parking behind the building and a short walk through a couple breezeways, or as they called them, “laneways”, gets you into the back door of the pub (wheelchair accessible).

28/03/2026: I visited on a match day and it was very busy. Only had 1 pint which was good but could not find anywhere to sit. Did not eat but most customers seemed to be and food looked good. Would like to visit on a quieter day as the pub itself looked lovely.

08/05/2026: The food and service were brilliant, we were really impressed with the quality of both. The atmosphere is a little bit like a nice modern diner, and the seating is just a bit closer together than what is comfortable, especially in the section for tables of 2. It's not bad at all, it just doesn't match up with the food and the table service. I don't remember our waiter's name sadly, but he was excellent and his recommendations were perfect for us. The chicken wings for starter were delicious. Pizza for main was amazing, and the tagliatelle bolognese was beautiful. Jacket potato fries are worth a go as a side, extremely good chips 🤌🏻. I've read some reviews about the pizza being soggy, wet or saturated etc. If you want dry, identical slices that stay completely rigid as you eat them, go to Dominos or Four Star/Apache...this is authentic pizza that uses real ingredients. Yes it is more moist than a franchise pizza, but it is fresh, many times more tasty and doesn't wake you at 3am feeling like someone has rubbed sand in your eyes. The food is fresh, vibrant and authentic. And that puts Pomodorino at the top of the list in Swords.

02/03/2026: A proper pub. Friendly staff and customers. Sports on TV's. Which the staff will do their best to accommodate everyone requests. Live music Fri to Monday night. Really enjoyed my time there.

08/01/2026: Absolutely shocked with the Service in this pub I am from County Dublin I booked into the Keaden hotel heading to Nathan carter went in for a drink with my 2 cousins and was told not tonight we were barred from previous time never in the bar in my life.

20/11/2025: Cool café right on the River Lee with some outdoor tables. Delicious, handmade pastries and excellent coffee. Friendly service behind the counter. It was very noisy during our visit because a large group of young tourists was also in the very small space... but that shouldn't be the norm!

08/06/2026: Absolutely the best pork chop I’ve had in my life. I will never forget it—I closed my eyes for most bites so I could savor it. We asked for a recommendation for dessert and it was ridiculously amazing. The flavors were incredible. The chocolate was so rich it was plenty for four of us to split since we all were full from our incredible meals. Others in our party got a fish entree they loved and the sauce that it came in was so fantastic they used the extra bread to finish it off! 10/10 We will be back next year. 06/06/2026: We had a very odd experience here. We came during our honeymoon after several people recommended we visit while in Galway, but from the moment we arrived, the service felt uncomfortable and unwelcoming. We arrived at 6:04 p.m. for our 6:00 p.m. reservation, and from the initial interaction with the host/server, we felt as though we were somehow in trouble. After reading other reviews, it seems that unfriendly service may not be an isolated issue. I’ve have never left a negative restaurant review before, but our experience warranted one. A couple seated next to us, who arrived after we did, received their meals significantly sooner than we did. In fact, they had already finished their mains and were ordering dessert before our entrees even arrived. I ordered the steak, which was served with a single slice of tomato on top. The couple next to us ordered the same dish, and theirs came with multiple slices of tomato as an accompaniment. I understand that presentation can vary, but the difference between one slice and several seemed unusually inconsistent. My wife ordered the scallops and received only three scallops. Photos online clearly show the same dish being served with noticeably more. I understand portion sizes can vary, but the difference was substantial enough to stand out. After our plates were cleared, we sat for approximately 10–15 minutes without anyone checking on us. Apparently, the server asked my wife about dessert while I was in the restroom, but when I returned, we waited another five minutes before I finally had to ask for the bill myself. Throughout the evening, we felt largely ignored. Looking back, I don’t believe anyone ever asked how our meals were. My family owns a restaurant, so I understand that service can suffer when staff are overwhelmed. That wasn’t the case here. The server walked past our table multiple times and never once acknowledged us or checked in. Out of habit from the United States, I still left a generous tip, but in hindsight I wish I hadn’t. We left feeling genuinely disappointed by the cold and dismissive service. It was certainly not the dining experience we had hoped for during our honeymoon in Galway.

27/04/2026: The staff were very unfriendly towards us, which made us feel very uncomfortable. There was no offer of advice or assistance whatsoever. The food was not very appealing for the price.

26/04/2026: I’ve been coming to this restaurant for quite some time, and it used to be one of my favourite spots for Vietnamese soup. The food was consistently authentic, the soup was always served properly hot, and the owner created a welcoming, attentive atmosphere that made you want to come back. Unfortunately, my recent visits have been increasingly disappointing. The most noticeable issue is the temperature of the soup—it’s often only lukewarm, which really takes away from the flavour and overall experience. For a place known for its soup, this is a major letdown. The service has also changed significantly. While I understand the restaurant is busy, the staff now seem rushed and inattentive, with little care for customer experience. On my latest visit, both my boyfriend and I were spoken to in a rude and dismissive manner—once while ordering and again when simply asking for chopsticks. This kind of interaction makes customers feel unwelcome. It’s disappointing to see a place with such strong potential decline like this. I hope this feedback is taken seriously, because this restaurant used to be something special.

Service was very professional and food was excellent- Best chef. 👍 We had Halwa puri breakfast at Camden street Nawal branch . Strongly recommend for best Dine in and breakfast with tasty asian food and excellent service.

06/06/2026: Didn’t take pictures of everything,but the cocktails were really delicious. We had also flowers with us,cause it was birthday celebration and the staff kindly place them in the water for us. Just wished would be more options for food, but everything was great

02/05/2026: Ordered soup of the day to take away. Asked me to call back in 5. Came back to delicious hot tomato and basil soup with 2 big slices of wholemeal brown bread. All for €6. Thankyou 😋

07/06/2026: Lazy lunch with parish wimmin. The menu was a good assortment of all ages and larger more substantial offerings. The scampi was the bizz. Place was full (as usual) so somewhat noisy. Not a complaint - just an observation. Some might find the sensory overload challenging. The outside pavement dining area was available for smaller groups 2 - 4.

09/06/2026: It was an excellent stay! The receptionist Lauriana was super friendly and very helpful. I didn't particularly like my room, and she was extremely helpful finding me a better option with a great view.
