The best restaurants

05/10/2025: A really nice spot for breakfast and the choice is massive. I went for a cheese, bacon, mushroom and onion omlet and it did not disappoint. It was so cheesey which made me very happy! Coffee is delicious too. Would recommend!!

10/10/2025: Just home from a 2 night break in this lovely hotel. Right in the middle of town. Lovely room. A bit small but did the job. Staff were so friendly and helpful. Had my dog and she was so content. Was lovely being able to keep her with us in reception area while we ate. She got lots of attention and loved it all. Just across the road is a public park which was easily accessible. We tortured the staff asking for water for ourselves and dog and they were very accommodating. Had breakfast which was delicious and freshly cooked. But neither myself or my daughter are big eaters so felt we wasted it. I was alone with the dog in afternoon so went to try out the crumble and custard. It was delicious. Doggie was very happy lying on floor people watching 🤣. Secure car park. It was a very relaxing stay and reassuring that the dogs are welcomed . If I was travelling in that direction again I would certainly stay in Gleesons.

05/10/2025: Our choir stayed at this cozy and quaint hotel as a large group, and we were very pleased. The beautiful ambiance and a delicious, plentiful breakfast contributed to our well-being, as did the always friendly and helpful staff. It was wonderful to be offered a Guinness on the first evening after arriving, even though the restaurant was already slowly closing its doors. We also had a big lunch together with our partner choir from Roscommon (Cór Cómain); everything was delicious and beautifully served!

20/09/2025: Absolutely incredible meal, the portions were enormous as well. The staff were so friendly and kind. The whole place had a homey feel, the fireplace was top notch!

19/09/2025: Stumbled in because a recommended bar was packed full, best mistake ever! Staff was amazing, so friendly and kind, and the food was AMAZING! My dad and I both got the mussels as a starter and fish and chips for main and it was incredible, so flaky and a huge portion! Beer and cider selection was awesome too :)

20/09/2025: Disappointed with our visit there this evening. Closing at 9pm is too early. Menu is changed and not an improvement. nice staff, but they had difficulty with the new ordering system. My burger was so much smaller than before, no lettuce, no onions and the burger bun was too big for it. Chips were not hot. Garlic chips are not garlic chips, it was just chips with a garlic dip on the side. Overall very disappointed, we are regular customers, but probably won't be going very often anymore. I sent an email this morning. I have not had a response yet. Still no reply to the email which was requested by Eddie Rockets. I was asked to make contact, which I did. Please don't pay lip service. Ignoring a customer is poor customer service. Really....how concerned were you with this very poor experience as you have still not responded to me?????? This speaks volumes. A customer should not be ignored and you sending a pretend email to try to take the sting put of a bad review shows how poorly you view customers. Remember without us, there is no restaurant....

02/10/2025: What ever you pick from their menu will not leave you disappointed. Great staff and great food. Also a brilliant place for a party or function. They have a private bar and function room ideal for birthday / christenings ect.

23/09/2025: Incredible food. Arguably the nicest gluten free burger I've ever had. Never had a burger with BBQ pulled pork on top, but this was so good. Normally GF buns aren't toasted but this was lightly crispy and added to how nice the burger already was. Chips weren't safe so had mashed potatoe instead and was really nice. The GF brownie was also incredible after. Couldn't recommend this place enough. Staff were also fantastic. Even though there only seemed a couple of them taking care of the place, they were really looking after everyone.

06/10/2025: Nice environment, very nice food and great service. Was rather busy when we went but I could see why. Prices reasonable given the venue and quality of food and service.

06/10/2025: The best I can say, is that the sommelier really knows his flavors. He perfectly paired the scallop starter with a new cocktail not yet on the menu and it was amazing! The food was phenomenal!

17/10/2025: No. 1 Pery Square is an unexpected gem in Limerick! The style and design are truly incomparable and meticulous. We loved the unique, luxurious details—from the comforting scents throughout to the quirky garden art featuring vintage motors and machines. Service is impeccable, the spa was pristine, and the food and drink were superb. A genuinely relaxing, high-quality experience. Highly recommend!

12/09/2025: Chic and cozy boutique hotel in an easily accessible area of Limerick. Can’t overstate how strongly I recommend the spa here. We did the thermal experience and an hour massage after our red eye flight from NY and it was idyllic. The massage therapist Alan was amazing and I highly recommend getting a custom massage from him to start or end your trip in the most relaxing way possible!

30/08/2025: There I was planning to fly out of Ireland West Knock airport on an early Sunday morning flight and just wasn’t feeling like getting up at half-past-very-early to do the long two-hour drive from home to get there. So, I started looking for a place to stay within punching distance or even a short drive to the airport. I wanted to stay away from the formulaic sterility and coldness of a chain hotel and stumbled upon this absolute jewel in county Sligo, a mere 15-minute drive from the airport. Cawley’s has a wonderful blend of old-style charm, class and relaxing vibes right in the heart of Tubbercurry. Despite first appearances, it delightfully stays away from any pretentious notions, and not only does it have favourable room rates but has a very honest and wonderfully welcoming bar and restaurant with very accommodating, natural and friendly staff. From the menu, this reviewer went for the striploin steak with all the trimmings washed down with a nice Chilean Chiraz, followed by the traditional sherry trifle and ice cream. From modest-sized weddings, to solo travellers just looking for a bed, hot shower, strong wifi and a good meal for the night, to the small dinner parties, Cawley’s is truly a chameleon of options establishment that accommodates the full spectrum of travellers, diners and event celebration needs. The very charming and conversational barman Matthew even accommodated my request for a Calimocho (simply red wine and coke) without as much as a flinch, oh and be sure to connect with Teresa, part of the Cawley family, at front of house. You won’t be disappointed with Cawley’s, now 60 years in business and still going strong.

28/05/2025: This pub is one of those pubs where you go there for the first time and you will definitely like it. It is a pub frequented by locals from this area and surroundings and also when the students are celebrating those student weeks this pub is very cool and laughs from beginning to end. I had the privilege of being there and only with the locals it was very good, fun and very friendly, I really liked it, in fact I loved it and I recommend it to anyone in the area to go there.

22/10/2025: I had heard from a friend that Ka Shing was very good. So decided to try it. We love Chinese food. The staff were friendly and it's a great restaurant. The food was amazing. Everything was so fresh and tasty. I had Mango Duck. My son had a Thai Green Curry. We had desert too. We got Pavalova. We also had coffees too. I had a cappuccino and my son got an Americano. Everything was great. We will be back to try more.
