03/04/2025: Beautiful place to eat. Staff are very helpful and friendly. Food is beautiful too

29/03/2025: Called on Saturday afternoon c 4.15pm. Was clear staff were clearing up for the day. We ordered two scones, there were 3 left to choose from, and two teas. Scones were OK, but shocked, to say the least, when bill came to Euro 17 !!!!!! Welcome to RIP Off Virginia. Never again.

20/04/2025: After reading many good reviews decided to give it a try. Restaurant wasn’t very busy but had to wait 20 minutes to place an order. Got ribs for a starter which were ok but never got a wet tissues to clean my hands which is a standard with the ribs. Pornstar martini cocktail is the worst i have ever had. Idea of serving it in an empty vhs cassette box nice but it was very dirty and looked disgusting. Finally main course. Duck served with very overcooked pasta with chopped tomatoes absolutely without any flavour. The worst combination with duck you can imagine. If that’s not enough after getting the bill we were told that early bird menu prices are only Monday - Friday which wasn’t mentioned in the menu so very disappointed. Definitely won’t be going back again

30/03/2025: I met my brother for a drink (both of us on non-alcoholic stuff after work.) I was going through a lot with a recent house move, a lot of stress, and thinking a lot about a friend of mine with a disability who died in his thirties and how he'd missed out on all the opportunities I'd been given. Of course I was a bit emotional (not "tired and emotional" just welling up and asking my brother to give me a moment.) A "friendly" woman there thought I was crying to the music. Not the only story of adventure over two or three (non-alcoholic drinks) in there that night.

28/03/2025: Luke's entry- We stumbled accross this quaint location after a long train journey. The warm interior was the exact cure we needed for the malicious weather outside. Coffee was Yum.com, very smooth and good price (at least compared to Dublin amiright HAHAHAHH). Baristas so lovely and open to give recomendations. Star of the show was that yummy yummy scrumdidily rocky road cookie I dream of it omfg #needthat i give it 5 big booms. Wish I could work there fr fr. Reyn's entry- Ok... This was my absolute favorite establishment in allllll of Gaillimh, The ambiance was LUSH, the employees CHARMIN, the bevs INCRED. I live in NYC and when I say it was soooo Brooklyn. Straight outta Greenpoint am I right! I really apreciated the local artwork/zines being sold, it gave it a much needed community feel. Also get the rocky road cookie. let me just tell you THAT COOKIE GOOOOOD AYYYYY. Please go here, you will NOT regret it!!!

16/02/2025: Busy place, little café, they serve nice food, nicely decorated,you can pretty much buy every decoration you see on display. They have freshly made cakes too. We were there lunch time, we sat and there was queu after us. The fishcake with wedges and chicken rice salad were very tasty. Service was quick.

10/02/2025: Had the fillet mignon with Gratin potatoes as I always do with salad and the photo never does it justice! It’s heaven 😊 been eating here for 30 years and can’t ever remember having a disappointing meal! It is pricey, but the quality of the food and the service are great! If you like a steak dinner, it’s not easily beaten around Dundalk.

31/03/2025: My boyfriend and I booked the cocktail making class with Andrew followed by dinner - we were both so impressed by the depth of his knowledge. The class was so interesting; Andrew’s pride and passion in what he does is contagious and even though we never thought much before about cocktail making we found ourselves wanting to learn as much as we could from him. He was also our waiter for dinner after the class and he described the dishes in such detail. His presence brought such a great atmosphere to the place and we were both so impressed with the whole evening. The cocktails were delicious and the food was really good - we are so glad we went and looking forward to coming back in the future.

06/04/2025: Beautiful place to have a nice meal. Everything was good, especially the croquettes that we had for starters. We went for the sunday roast and it was good, a bit overpriced for the portion, in my opinion. Other than that, really good, will be back again soon.

03/04/2025: We went to Petronella for our wedding anniversary dinner and it was so lovely. Place itself is gorgeous and staff is so polite and friendly. Food was amazing, we will be back soon! Thanks very much!

22/03/2025: Our experience at The Square is worthy of 5 stars. The menu selection was excellent, and the food was amazing - all very fresh, with unbelievable flavour. The atmosphere was great and the service was super. Service was friendly, efficient and professional. I felt our meal was good value for money given the standard of food and service, and overall dining experience.
