the latin quarter
Galway
17/08/2025: Simply great, another treat that this lovely town has to offer ❤️❤️❤️
13/08/2025: I want to say this is the heart of Galway if you like night life. Lots of bars, restaurant (close pretty early around 10pm), live bands. Shopping is available but most store close around 6pm. We spent two days here. Visiting it at night time and one day time. We saw the marathon.

Castle Leslie Estate
Glasslough
25/07/2025: My mother and I stayed in the Castle the first night and it was amazing. Bathroom was huge, room was lovely, service was the best I've ever had. Truly welcoming and hardworking staff. The breakfast was delicious and had a large variety of hot dishes and continental choices. After that, we stayed the next 2 nights in the lodge. Room was lovely and clean, bathroom was quite luxurious, and the restaurants had delicious food and a large variety of drinks and cocktails, even mocktails. The castle grounds were lovely and very well maintained and I had even gotten to see a Hummingbird Hawkmoth, which is apparently very rare, in the lodge garden. Overall had an amazing stay, service was top tier, rooms clean and perfectly maintained, and staff were very friendly and helpful with any and all questions. Would totally visit again and highly recommend.
15/07/2025: Beautiful estate. So relaxing and an equestrians dream.

22/06/2025: I come here for beers now and then because they have a large selection. There are plenty of seating options including inside tables, outdoor spots and bar seats. A great place for large groups.

Nash 19
Cork
29/07/2025: I ordered Lao Gan Ma fried rice, double egg and pork ribs, Chumae Ichiban, red oil wonton, roast meat platter (barbecued pork, fried chicken, roast duck), beef rice noodles, and preserved egg and lean meat congee. They were all delicious. I highly recommend the red oil wonton (the wontons were made with solid ingredients and the red oil was fragrant), the Chumae Ichiban (the pork ribs were thick and fragrant), and the roast meat platter (the skin was fragrant and the meat was tender).
07/07/2025: My wife and I were excited to go but were very upset by the animal cruelty. :(
There was a poor lobster tied up and alive on top of his dead friends on display, unable to move and out of water.
I dreamt about rescuing him.

Algiers Inn
Baltimore
02/08/2025: Dog friendly!!! Great covered outdoor area where well behaved dogs are made to feel super welcome. Absolutely outstanding food and even for a non dessert eater like myself the sticky toffee pudding was a real stand out 10/10
02/08/2025: We had a great experience at Algiers, chanced a walk in on a Saturday evening as we were passing after coming off one of the Cape Clear ferries, and it didn’t disappoint. We had our dog with us and were seated out in their cute little terrace (protected from the weather). Tried a selection of items of the menu and a couple of West Cork Brewery beers. Everything was delicious - the Sticky Date Pudding was exceptional.

Kilrane Inn
Kilrane
15/08/2025: Was there today with my partner and youngest child (5) I found this little gem on Google and the reviews did not lie, friendly, helpful waiting staff and delicious food served quickly and at good value. As a chef myself I am really happy to recommend this restaurant and we will definitely be back next year 😋 I had the garlic mushroom starter and beef and Guinness casserole, finished off with a rhubarb crumble, needless to say I was stuffed as was my partner and child, they also prepared dishes to take away for our eldest kids which was a great help. Keep up the good great work 👍
05/08/2025: Great food and Beers, Sarah 100% on the ball..kid friendly and kids love this place for food..

Dublin Salsa Academy - Beginner's 202, Jan 8th, 9th & 10th. Cuban Salsa, L.A Salsa and Bachata classes.
Dublin
25/06/2025: Tl;Dr dance classes are good. Administration is lacking. Location changes to outdoors sometimes because the school fails to book a location
I attended the beginners classes for multiple dance styles in the school. First of all, I think the classes are quite good. The teachers are attentive and there's always a chance to record the routines/movements taught at the end of the class. Huge help when practising. So 5/5 there
However, the administration is severely lacking. The first week I signed up the class on my chosen day was cancelled. I only discovered this when I arrived at the venue and was informed by staff of the harbourmaster that it wasn't on. I did ultimately receive a refund for the missing week, but be careful when signing up on the day because you might find the class is cancelled on that day. The dance school won't mention this on their website or any public facing pages that I'm aware of
In addition to this, sometimes the dance school will fail to book a venue. In this case either the class is cancelled for that day or they move it outdoors to Grand Canal Square. If it rains that day? Cancelled. If you maybe don't want to dance so publicly? Come a different day, if there's one available. If a class is cancelled there's no attempt to make up that class, and the possible change of venue isn't mentioned on the website or when signing up for the class. I attended for 8 weeks and the day I found most convenient to go had classes cancelled or moved 3 out of those 8 weeks. Maybe I picked a particularly turbulent time, but I'm very surprised this isn't mentioned in any other reviews.
If you're flexible on days or don't mind having an dancing outside then this is unlikely to be much of a problem for you. If, like me, you'd prefer an indoor venue or don't always have that flexibility then this is pretty important information to know
06/05/2025: Very fun classes and great teachers!

VDA Coffee
Blessington
05/08/2025: I found Vda to be the place to get coffee during my recent trip to Blessingtown
Consistently great coffee and very nice staff
30/07/2025: Honestly I normally only go to cafes for coffee as most of them only offer premade sandwiches or highl processed food.
However what a wonderful surprise in VDA.. a proper home made toasties freshly made was amazing. Recommend 100%

National Museum Cafe
Dublin
09/08/2025: A truly beautiful and well-kept museum, truly interesting! Admission is free, but the visit is so enjoyable that a donation is more than welcome.
09/08/2025: A museum well worth visiting.
The museum is free, and you don't need a free ticket; you just walk right in.
In addition to historical facts and artifacts from Ireland (from various periods, such as the Bronze Age and others), there are also some things about Egypt and the Vikings in Ireland.
It consists of two floors with several rooms. In one of them, there are even, so-called, mummified corpses (I don't know if they're actually mummified, but they look very similar). They're behind walls that you have to enter, and I understand that the corpses thing might not be suitable for everyone.
The visit can be very long, and that's because it's very comprehensive.
Except in one of the rooms (where you can't), you can take photos without flash. It's a shame that some people ignore the rules (the rules are in place to prevent damage to what's on display).
And in the shop, if you look carefully, you can get things at good prices. I bought two postcards, and two books, one about the history of Ireland, and another about traditional fairy tales.
