The best restaurants

12/09/2025: We have been on holiday in the area for almost a week and this is by far the best meal we have had during our travels and we have had some great food. Absolutely delicious, if you haven’t tried the food here yet you must, if we were not going home tomorrow we would 💯 be back .

06/09/2025: Food is simply out of this world!! Would consider traveling here, staying in Keenan’s Hotel beside the restaurant for the night, eating at the Onion and heading home the following morning! Gorgeous location on the banks of the Shannon! Couldn’t recommend more highly!

21/08/2025: Tips & Improvements A very small café that offers a wide range of food and drinks despite its limited space (approx. 8 square meters of seating area?). We like the concept and the environmental awareness. Badger and Dodo's coffee is really delicious :-) Very friendly staff. Improvements The following point is certainly debatable. But €3.50 for a slice of banana bread, even if it was thickly sliced, is simply too much for us as tourists. Why not reduce the price a bit and sell more? We luckily found you on Google during a break and then went into the shop. We had passed by the shop several times before. Idea: The second sign in front of the shop advertising café and snacks was closed for us ;-) Use the window for further information or a printout/sign of a Google review. That works ;-) It would be great to know the story behind your shop. Perhaps place this in the shop? You could further differentiate yourself from others with a different exterior wall color/signs. Especially with the one in comparison. Much higher quality food compared to other restaurants! If we're ever in the area or in Ireland again, we'll stop by again :-) Please leave me a heart :-)

14/09/2025: We had a lovely time at the Granary for my wife's birthday. Service was quick and efficient, the food was great and the dining room was warm and cosy. We had the 3 course set menu, and I recon it was good value for money.

15/09/2025: Had the food emporium do home catering for us for a family party and couldn't fault them, great to deal with and very friendly, food was absolutely amazing and got nothing but compliments from everyone at the party. Delivered on time with complimentary dessert thrown in. Highly recommend for quality, value and excellent service. 5star

07/09/2025: Excellent restaurant with tasty food either to eat in or take away and very pleasant staff. Their catering service - of which we availed of recently -is second to none with a great variety of menu selections. Well done to Fionn and staff

02/11/2025: Just recently had an overnight stay, Mary was a complete delight. Loved the style, the ease of parking, but even more so: the customer service. Highly recommended stay.

17/10/2025: A 10/10 typical Irish breakfast! Very friendly service and waiters. I went with a baby, and they were attentive, giving him attention and toys to entertain him. Even though we don't speak the language well, they were 100% accessible.

15/10/2025: I wish I lived here so I could go here all the time. We ended up eating here on 3 separate occasions. Once for breakfast, once for lunch and finally once for snack. The place is packed, but they magically always seem to have a table. Great waitresses, so accomodating and in great spirits. It was great for a fry up breakfast. Lunch was incredible with their panini and their soup of the day with homemade bread hit the spot! Our snack was tea/coffee and sweet treats. I recommend the plum & apple crumble and the chocolate sponge. Just adore this place!

05/10/2025: Assembled a crew for my thirtieth and sailed up the Shannon to Luker’s for our first overnight stop; they had no problem accommodating our large group and provided top class service with delicious food. Big fire roaring in the hearth down the back was the cherry on top of a lovely evening of chat and song. Five plus stars and shoutout to all the staff for putting up with us.

01/10/2025: Very nice Bar and Restaurant. We came in on a Monday in Off-season and we were the only people. The food was really good and because we were alone we got a nice tour through the new and old bar. I can highly recommend this place

25/10/2025: Good climbing gym - not huge, but it's enough, with a good bit of variety.

04/09/2025: We had a meal in the hotel on Wednesday We had the special Hake with tomato and potato cubes It was tasty but a very small and inadequate amount The 5 potato cubes were clearly leftover potato a few baby tomatoes No sauce No fresh vegetables I did mention it to the waitress I was disappointed l had a glass of wine (small one) It was 37euros which I consider to be quite expensive especially for the very small portion A little extra vegetables and potato would have made all the difference This portion for a male would be simply inadequate

19/09/2025: I came to Caffe Waffle for breakfast and had a spinach & feta roll, a shortbread cookie, and a caramel latte — everything was delicious! I’m not exactly sure what the spinach & feta roll is made of, but I really enjoyed it. The customer service was excellent, and the restaurant itself is beautiful. The only downside is that there’s not much space inside, but overall I had a great experience and will definitely be back.

24/10/2025: I purchased petrol. It showed 700km range as usually on full tank. Then dropped by 100km yesterday and dropped by another 150km today. This is a new car. Full tank gets me 600-700km depending on the road and load. With full tank from this petrol station I got only 450km. Petrol was not clean or diluted obviously. Very disappointed to pay €1.78 per litre for low quality fuel which is 40% less efficient than any other station...

21/10/2025: Says that it is open at 8:30 and the women at the till told me that they dont open till 9:00 so whats the story will you cope on and update your opening times or do something about your staff ffs

15/10/2025: We ate very well. We ordered the shrimp pil pil, crab bread, calamari, and homemade fries. Everything was delicious, and we were delighted. I highly recommend the Albariño as a white wine, better than the one they offer at the front if you don't specify. Thanks to the staff for everything.

15/10/2025: A seafood restaurant serves real fresh seafood. Buttered fish was so light, creamy chowder was so tasty. We definitely enjoyed.
