21/03/2025: Esta es la segunda vez que he estado en Locks... Siempre iré aquí cuando esté en Dublín. La ubicación en lo que parece ser una zona residencial tranquila cerca de un arroyo o pequeño río es agradable. El restaurante está en un espacio genial y acogedor. El menú no es enorme, pero la comida es deliciosa.

02/07/2025: Un grupo de cuatro de nosotros cenamos en el famoso restaurante Campagne de Garret Byrne la tarde del viernes 19 de junio y fue una cena memorable. Para empezar, dos de nosotros pedimos una terrina caliente de eglefino servida con un huevo frito encima, rodeada de una salsa de mantequilla y cebollino, seguida de una paletilla de cordero cocinada a fuego lento, judías borlotti, espinacas y ajo confitado (el cordero estaba tierno y se derretía en la boca) y terminamos con la tarta de limón más ácida y sabrosa que he probado en mucho tiempo. Los otros dos eligieron un entrante de mousse de ricotta y parmesano con verduras de primavera, salsa de espárragos y crujiente de parmesano, seguido de un plato principal de merluza asada con chutney de calabacín, alcachofas y una divina salsa vierge y terminando con una ópera de frambuesa y pistacho con helado de chocolate blanco. Elegimos dos botellas del excelente Sauvignon Blanc de la casa, y dada la calidad del vino, el precio fue muy competitivo: 40 euros por botella. La comida que produce este restaurante es simplemente de primera clase y lo recomiendo muchísimo. El restaurante está situado en Kilkenny, pero si eres un gourmet exigente, estás de visita en Irlanda o simplemente vives en Dublín, no dejes que eso te detenga, porque realmente vale la pena el viaje.

15/07/2025: I live locally to La Fig and can't resist getting a weekly pizza there. It's very reasonably priced for the quality of food provided. Although concentrating mostly on pizzas, the quality of food is above par compared to many high end Italian restaurants found in the capital. They also sell coffee by the bean and preserves from the continent, amongst very well made dips/sides and cakes. The quality of the products they use is obviously chosen by a very experienced person. There is hardly any pretense in the shop itself, just amazing food, which personally for me is preferable. Definitely not your average pizza shop and a bit of a hidden gem in the area. Enjoy it.

11/08/2025: La música era demasiado alta. Hizo que toda la experiencia fuera extremadamente dolorosa, físicamente dolorosa. Pedí otra mesa más lejos de los altavoces, pero me dijeron que no había ninguna. El tono de nuestro camarero fue de lo más desagradable. Realmente no parecía importarle. En cuanto a la comida, tomó cerca de una hora para obtener nuestras hamburguesas y no eran nada especial. ¡La peor cena en Irlanda hasta ahora! Nos alojaremos en Cork durante 3 días, pero nunca pondremos un pie en Dwyers nunca más. ¡Advertimos a nuestros amigos que no vayan!

01/08/2025: A shame today as our family went here after a funeral for some food and drinks, the server James was the most ignorant man my family have ever came across. We are locals and tend to go here regularly and loved the place as a family establishment, but we will no longer see this as an family establishment and will make sure the local community are aware if the way we were treated by James, we also had two kids with us one of them with autism and this man thought it was ok to treat us this way, we are very upset about this and hope no other family have to put up with this from a man that thinks he is above his customers. Alsoy 72 year old grandfather was also treated with complete disrespect by this man as he was grieving while this same man.

18/07/2025: Had dinner with my wife last week, food was delicious ( prawns followed by feather blade) Finished off with apple crumble and coffee.Staff were very friendly and polite. Nice guitarist for good measure.

17/07/2025: 5 stars for 8a. This place hits the spot when it comes to brasserie style food. A menu to suit all tastes with a nice selection of seafood befitting its location close to the sea. Solid wine menu as well. Well worth trying this restaurant if you’re in the area or live close by. Why doesn’t Google have an 8 star option for 8a?
