24/05/2026: Ordered an ice cappucino and an iced americano; the cappucino was fine but the americano was very watery and almost see-through and tasted wrong. Very disappointed.

18/05/2026: An authentic pub with very nice and friendly service. We had delicious mussels from the local Kenmare Bay and a Guinness 0.0 on tap. It tastes really good for a non-alcoholic beer. MacCarthy's is definitely a must-visit if you're in Castleberetown.

17/03/2026: Possibly one of Collon Village best kept secrets as it’s all word of mouth with little or no advertising done but it works as over 20years it has consistently improved always serving local quality food at very reasonable prices. Caters for all occasions and ideally situated on the N2 with its own car park and on street parking there’s nothing not to like

19/04/2026: Well I was most surprised! To find this level of dedication, cooking & showmanship in a remote Irish location was worth every Euro spent! I was only disappointed that I couldn't try any of the wines that accomponied the amazing cuisine as I was driving. Next time I'll invite friends and make one of them drive ;)
02/04/2026: If you love fine food then a visit to Le petit Vatel is a must. This is my fourth visit and the whole experience just keeps improving.
My scallop starter and halibut mains were exquisite. The beautiful table settings are comlimentary to the dishes that Chef Thomas creates.
If you haven't visited, then I suggest you do. You won't be dissapointed🥰

12/05/2026: Lovely, bar, great friendly service however they really need to invest in their toilets. Both ladies had toilet seats that didn't fit and the hand dryer didn't work and there were no paper towels.

19/03/2026: We went without a reservation over St. Patrick's Day weekend and were greeted with good cheer despite the crowds.
The value for money is more than fair. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal.
Special mention to the unusual toilet door… I won't say any more ;)
16/03/2026: Was here for mother's day. Harry at the door presented me with a yellow tulip. Such a lovely touch. The food was unbelievable. The service was outstanding by a lovely young lady with long black hair I didn't catch her name, she was so patient with my 3 kids which made our experience very smooth. She was quick to order our food quick in getting it out and on the ball with their desserts. There was no messing around with her. Will definitely be back with the family....

02/04/2026: Food is decent but they use wooden cutlery, which is unfortunate considering I was sitting in. The staff are helpful but forgot our drinks and weren’t customer-facing when we went to the till to pay.
26/03/2026: Food really not as good as it is hyped up to be. Service was not great either. Would not recommend for the price. They don't even come to the table to take your order but the website asks for a tip many times?!!?!!
