The best restaurants

05/03/2025: Food was fine, I'd prefer food served on a plate and not in a basket. The service very good and staff were friendly. The restaurant was very cold which made my meal not as enjoyable.

28/02/2025: Food is good, staff/service is really good.

18/04/2025: Room was small, and furniture placement made it feel cramped. The attached pub downstairs did not have a traditional Irish feeling (but at least it had a dart board). Close to the beach. 45 minute drive to airport in morning weekday traffic.

09/04/2025: If you're looking for a lively spot with great food, drinks, and a nearby beach this is the best in Bray.

23/03/2025: It is a completely manic and overwhelming experience. Very poor organisation by manager leads to getting the wrong order and being disturbed/rushed often while you eat. Visible tension amongst staff. Chaotic atmosphere that made it impossible to enjoy the meal. I was there for no more than 25 minutes, and it totally defeated the purpose of eating in a restaurant. I can't recommend.

07/04/2025: Very Unusually Bad Experience! I dine out very regularly, possibly 3-5 times a week, and this is the first time in many years I have felt the need to go out of my way to leave a negative review. The service from the get-go was very alarming, with rude, curt, and dismissive behaviour from the staff. Myself and my colleague felt immediately as though we were not welcome in the establishment. This was followed by very mediocre service, due to a lack of attention, refusal to make eye contact, very bad communication, and a general feeling as though we were the last thing that mattered that day. The food was average at best, and that is a very generous statement. It felt as though the ingredients were bought last minute using whatever was conveniently available, to create a dish with very makeshift and crude presentation, with the flavors being basic and uninspiring. The seemingly selective bad service, the general lack of wanting to be there from the staff, the crazy wait times for the food (1+ hour, while I could see it waiting on the counter at one stage), the general atmosphere, and the lack of taste and quality from the food, left an overall sour taste in my mouth. One of the worst dining experiences I have had in many years, I would recommend it only to those who wish to have a subpar and unsettling experience. It’s is a shame due to the beautiful decor, the potential of the location, and the reputation the restaurant chain apparently has. I was forced to eat again afterwards, and asked kindly by my colleague to try and forget the experience, which genuinely made my outlook on the rest of the evening bleak. I have had some bad experiences before, where I have just got on about my day, but this one was disturbingly unpleasant to the point I need to try and save someone else’s meal (and day).

19/12/2024: We had the day 2 of our wedding in The Castle and the lads couldn't do enough for us, Mark, Darren, Fergal and Rachel thank you so much for everything! The food was delicious and the atmosphere was lovely as always, everyone had a great night and our family from County Down are dying to come back the next time they are down!

27/03/2025: It is a takeaway coffee shop. And they know their business. Coffee is fantastic. And their hot chocolate is delicious a real treat and a high point after any cold outdoor event to warm you up.. staff are very friendly.

10/02/2025: A smart enough cafe-cum-restaurant with helpful staff and plenty of tables. Carnivores are well catered for. There are no vegetarian menu options so I had a full breakfast without the meat. That’s a shame given the choice of plant-based bacon-like and sausage products available now, and the little imagination and time it needs to make meat-free vegetable, fish, or dairy dishes. The pot of tea top-up was atop the same blanched teabag-eek! We can do better. This doesn’t take away from its being clean, tidy, and very welcoming. It’s a great meet-up venue and shouldn’t be overlooked.

10/04/2025: This is a very expensive venue. A 200ml bottle of 7up €3.50 - Rip Off - only had the one. No draught Guinness 00 or any other 00 in the function room. Toooo noisy and crammed. Would I go there again - No

18/04/2025: Fantastic place for solo or accompanied lunch:) The food is really healthy and nutritious and there's a generous portion of it. If you are protein lover you'll love the salmon and egg options and avocado implemented in sandwiches. This place is very popular and the only drawback are limited space and waiting queue. The latter, on the other hand shows you how popular the place is. Staff are very efficient and lovely.
