The best restaurants

17/10/2025: My husband and I and two friends had the early bird menu. We were seated at 5:30 by very pleasant friendly staff. The food was outstanding. The service was outstanding. The atmosphere was outstanding. The decor was perfect. The toilets were spotless .I would highly recommend the early bird menu, Ragu to start pork belly for main course. As I am a non-drinker, I was very impressed by a range of 00 alcohol beers Guinness wine. A wonderful experience we will definitely be back thanks to everyone for the very nice service and excellent food

10/10/2025: Top notch up market restaurant. Great friendly efficient service. Fabulous food albeit relatively small but adequate portions. Pleasant experience worthy of repeating.

30/07/2025: Pequeño pero ocupado lugar lleno de lugareños que se dirigían a trabajar. Este fue nuestro café de 1 calle en Irlanda a su llegada y nos enganchamos desde el primer sorbo. Llegamos justo cuando abrieron para poder agarrar una mesa. Tenían una selección de pastelería decente y algunos artículos de desayuno caliente. El servicio fue muy acogedor y atento. Los ingredientes eran frescos y la comida era deliciosa!

20/09/2025: Would highly recommend this place, it's a great wee hotel in such a fabulous location right in the middle of Westport. And the staff are so friendly & helpful. The room we stayed in was a family room, it had air conditioning in which was needed as our stay was in the summer months. The room was very modern, with a nice ensuite with walk-in shower which had a nice ceiling window above it to let natural light in. It was very clean & tidy, which is always nice to see in any hotel. There was a great layout of plugs either side of the bed, which isn't usually the case in many other hotels. Even though it's a officially a ⭐⭐⭐ it is as good as any ⭐⭐⭐⭐ we've stayed in. I think the only reason it may not officially have it's 4th star is because of not having it's own pool on site. But there is an off-site pool you can use during your stay, which is only a 2 minute walk from the hotel, and you can ask at reception for towels for the pool which is great. The location of the hotel couldn't be better, the entrance to Westport house is just around the side of the hotel, there are many bars, restaurants & shops right on your doorstep. There is also a lovely little market in the octagon outside the front of the hotel, (I think the stalls change daily). The breakfast was also really good, it's made to order so it's nice & fresh when you get it. There's a great selection of continental options too, so everyone should have options whichever you prefer for breakfast. I was in Westport when I was younger & remember it's charm even as a child. I had been telling my wife how nice it was & for us to go there, when we finally did she fell in love with the place, as did my stepson. We will definitely be back to this lovely town next year, and the Wyatt is where we'll be staying every time we come here.

14/08/2025: I stayed overnight in my camper on the car park, thanks to BritStops for helping me discover this hidden gem. Waking up to the stunning valley views. The pub is lively and welcoming, with a fantastic kitchen. Dinner was absolutely delicious – generous portions, perfectly cooked, and full of flavour. The bar offers a wide selection of drinks, and the staff give great advice to help you choose something you’ll love. Breakfast the next morning was just as impressive, freshly prepared and hearty, the perfect start to the day. While I didn’t stay in one of the rooms, I was kindly allowed to use the shower in the morning – much appreciated! Friendly service, great food, and a beautiful setting make this a place I’d gladly return to.

14/08/2025: We had an absolutely wonderful time at The Glenmalure Lodge. The food was exceptional - the lamb was exquisite and cooked to perfection, with generous portions that left us completely satisfied. What truly made our visit special was the incredibly welcoming and helpful staff. Their warm hospitality went above and beyond our expectations. As an extra touch of kindness, they even allowed us to park our motorhome overnight in their car park free of charge, which was greatly appreciated. The combination of delicious food, excellent service, and genuine Irish hospitality makes The Glenmalure Lodge a true gem. We couldn't have asked for a better experience and would highly recommend this place to anyone visiting the area. Thank you to all the staff for making our visit so memorable!

24/09/2025: It’s a pretty location by the river, and I think a good spot for a drink. Unfortunately our waitress was not very happy from the get-go, which soured the ambience. The salads and chips were marginal, at best. Update: after posting this the manager reached out personally and said this was not their typical standard and apologized and was very kind. I will give them another try!

06/10/2025: We recently visited Whytes Bar and Restaurant for a meal, and it was absolutely fantastic! The food was beautifully presented and bursting with flavor — every dish tasted fresh and perfectly cooked. You can really tell the chefs put care and attention into everything they serve. The service was friendly and attentive without being overbearing, and the atmosphere was warm and relaxing, making it the perfect spot for a lovely meal. We’ll definitely be back again soon — highly recommend Whytes Bar and Restaurant for anyone looking for great food and a wonderful dining experience!

19/09/2025: Phenomenal service. Spent weeks looking for the right paint colour. One visit and we had the perfect one. Also got an amazing sit down breakfast. Go here for anything you need. If they don't have it, they will point you in the correct direction.

27/08/2025: They take orders by phone and you can come there and order takeaway. They cook quickly, I liked everything.
