14/05/2026: During our Hotel stay we had a special evening, so we chose the Yew Tree Restaurant despite the priciness, and we were definitely not disappointed. Location is a rather old-fashioned small hall but not too overwhelming design and more moderate color compo. We had the 4-course, which is our strong recommendation, since it comes with bread/butter and small, nice amuse-bouche and petit-four before/after the starter-main-dessert. There are vegetarian options. The waiter was as you can expect in such a fine location, very polite and attentive, but not intrusive, overall very pleasant. No issue or comment when we did not everything completely correct (e.g. struggle with which fork/knive to use). When serving each course there was a little "show" of pouring soups, broth and sauces. The meals were of course of less amount but we were not hungry afterwards. Very nicely arranged, i really liked that, please refer to the photos. Great souffle!

18/07/2026: I stopped in here the last evening not expecting much but was very surprised by the quality of the food. The burgers are freshly made not from frozen. Quality ingredients and the chips are delicious too. Very reasonably priced. Friendly staff and a huge menu to choose from but not overwhelming. Highly recommend visiting here if visiting Skib.

23/06/2026: I was in a cycling group passing by, this restaurant was simply delicious 😋 the service was very friendly. If passing again I'll for sure be ordering the chowder.

28/12/2025: I grabbed a coffee at 6 a.m. and the guy working there was super friendly, even at that hour. He suggested some flavors to add to my coffee. I picked hazelnut and it was amazing. Thanks a lot!

28/12/2025: I had a muffin and a latte while waiting for my flight, the muffin was lovely nothing to complain and about and the coffee was really good I was quite impressed. I was served by Charlotte very pleasant and chatty, really nice environment. Will be back again 👍🏻

05/06/2026: While travelling the Wild Atlantic way we stopped here to have one night of stay before our excursion to Skellig Michael. The hotel is situated in one of the most beautiful spots on the ring of Kerry. Direct access to the beach where we were able to make this picture at sunset. The food they serve is amazing. The best oysters I had to date! And wonderful staff. A destination on its own.

20/07/2026: We came in yesterday with a huge group after a christening to have dinner. When we first walked in to say we had a reservation we were automatically met with a very rude welcome. My mum said we had a reservation and the manager said “well you can sit anywhere” and my mum repeated that we had a reservation because it was a large group and he continued to say “well it’s first come first serve here so you can sit anywhere. And you can’t order food yet we’re too busy”. We then stayed to watch the final World Cup afterwards and I ordered an amaretto sour. When I asked for another one what they brought was not the same. It was incredibly bitter and they had obviously forgotten something which is fine. When I called over someone to ask to change it no one wanted to turn around to serve us they were all watching the match. My mum and dad had to shout hello and wave them over and one guy turned around and said “yeah I’m making it again” very rudely. A few of them proceeded to whisper to eachother completely unnecessarily. We waited for a while and nothing happened so my mum had to get up and go over and drop the drink and say it was really bad. The staff all proceeded to laugh at each other. I work in a restaurant so I understand very well the expectation to treat a customer with respect and I have never thought staff were more rude in my life. Sorry.

17/06/2026: A great location, right on the water and within easy walking distance of all the attractions in the Viking triangle. Good food in the bar downstairs.

01/06/2026: This hotel is situated a few minutes walk from the city center, that is a plus. Staff is very friendly and helpful, also a big plus. The rooms have no air-conditioning so if you have a room in the back, above the parking lot, a lot of noise from cars, the kitchen and the music from weddings that take place inside that is a minus
