24/09/2026: What a nice spot for our last breakfast in Ireland- cool, welcoming laid back vibe- mostly locals. Service was great and food was top notch!

21/09/2026: What an amazing place! The food was fantastic. The service was very fast and the servers were always smiling. The location was perfect and the atmosphere was amazing. It’s like a small town café in the middle of a big city. I would definitely recommend this in your travels.

05/09/2026: Really nice pub with a great selection ton of whiskeys. There is a really nice atmosphere and the staff are very friendly. Toilets are clean too. Some of the tables at the back of the bar are poorly lit.

28/08/2026: Traveled to DUB from Charlotte for the UNC vs TCU game! This place was nothing short of amazing! Amanda was a really good waitress and took care of everything we needed! The food was amazing!

28/08/2026: I had a wonderful experience at The Anchor today. Food was great value, big portions and the staff and customers were friendly. Dog friendly, I thoroughly enjoyed my salt and pepper squid, it was very tender and chips and salad were delicious too. I highly recommend for a traditional pub setting

26/09/2026: I made it in there last quite late, I had a bad experience there before but I said I'd try it again and I can honestly say it was the nicest kebab I've ever eaten in Cork. The quality of the meat of the main thing but everything else with it was spot on👌

23/08/2026: It was my first time at Jack Meade's and I have to say with everything I had previously heard of the place, I was disappointed. Let's start with the good, it has to be the location and the kids amenities. We have 3 year old twins and they loved the play area, the animals were a very close second. The play area is fully enclosed and it's easy to keep an eye on the kids. The mediocre would unfortunately have to be the food, they were serving carvery on the Sunday we were there. We got 2 roast beet at €19 each and 2 kids sausages and mash at €7.50 each. Everything was cold when we got the food back to the table and the gravy was just thick with no flavour. The portion size was fine but that is simple because of the times we live in. 5 years ago I would have been asking, were is the rest for that price. Finally we come to the service which was the biggest disappointment that I've ever seen. For a very successful business in the food industry it was highly unorganized and very difficult for us to get any information about what we were meant to be doing. Large sections were reserved and there was no one directing people as to were was available. Once we did find a table, we then started the 25 minute queue where we had to pay for food first, which isn't an issue if we had been informed that this was the opportunity to remove any items we wouldn't like. Once we handed over our docket to the severs, it was take what your given and be happy with it. Our table was in the bar area and I have to say the staff here were very helpful and nice to deal with. Maybe we found the staff on an off day or what appeared to be a well known family food establishment that was under staffed and struggling with the numbers coming in the door. There was a level of expectation and unfortunately Jack Meades did not meet it.

13/09/2026: Great new addition to Dalkey! Popped in here with my partner and daughter this evening for a bite to eat. We had burgers, wings, chips and the youngest was delighted with the soft serve ice cream! Beautiful cocktail menu, lovely friendly atmosphere and attentive staff. A big step up from what it was before. Well done guys, look forward to coming back!

07/09/2026: We had our day 2 of our wedding here. Couldn't have enjoyed it more. The staff were fantastic, the food was beautiful and the atmosphere was amazing. Couldn't recommend it more. Thanks again to everyone for making our day extra special.

04/09/2026: Told we need to order from the breakfast menu, not the menu on the flip board. Then they were out of most breakfast items. Bins had no lids. Harsh lighting. Doesn't deserve the high rating IMO.

13/09/2026: Had the most amazing night at my friends engagement party with my Brazilian husband. I could not believe towards the end of the night a bouncer approached our table and stated that the Brazilian waiter who had hugged my husband earlier had made a complaint that he was molested. He had been entrailed that my husband was Brazilian and had initiated the hug. I am utterly disgusted this happened. Our friends where a witness to the contact and assured there was no impropriety. My husband was so upset that the staff had informed the engagement party also, so we left. I understand staff have a need to support one another but this was uncalled for, lies and unacceptable. I will never darken their door again and am mortified my friends were put through this on their engagement night.

08/09/2026: Popular spot where you can enjoy a wide array of starters, salads and mains. Great bar service by all of the ladies who waited on us. New pool table downstairs is a fantastic addition to the features of this tavern. Definitely need bookings on the weekends.

08/08/2026: What a wonderful place. Hidden in a lovely wee quiet spot. Food was lovely & staff were amazing. Especially 2 young blond haired girls . There smile was infectious. Manners was A-Class

19/05/2026: Luggage service was provided at check-in and check-out. Changing rooms was no problem, as we were unable to use the stairs due to mobility issues. Breakfast was excellent and the service throughout was superb. Best regards, Beate and Marie

18/05/2026: Stayed here with my parents to celebrate my mother's 80th birthday. The team couldn't do enough for them, everyone was so friendly and helpful. Ross carried all their luggage from the car to their room - both parents have walking sticks. Leanne was also a smiling helpful lady. Karen our waitress had such a lovely way with her and kept the one liners coming which charmed my parents. They love the banter! The rooms were fantastic, comfortable, well appointed and recently refurbished. The supervisor at breakfast was excellent too, we didn't catch his name but he was another real asset. We caught him about to head out to the car with my parents luggage in the rain, just stopped him in time - we had coats he didn't! This has got to be the friendliest hotel in ireland! Well done everyone, you aced the customer journey 👏🏻

06/09/2026: I ordered delivery from here after seeing all the positive reviews, but unfortunately I was sorely disappointed. I received the wrong pizza altogether. What arrived was soggy, poorly packaged and stuck to the top of the cardboard box. The toppings were also completely wrong, there was no pepperoni, which I had ordered, and instead it had raw bell peppers, which I hadn't ordered at all. The chips were equally disappointing: soggy and almost completely flavourless. After waiting for the order, I essentially ended up with a big soggy lump of food on my plate rather than the meal I'd actually paid for. Really disappointing experience, especially given the ratings. I won't be ordering from here again, and I'd recommend using some discernment before ordering based on the reviews alone.

25/08/2026: Nice small café in the heart of Dublin, right next to Christ Church and in walking distance of all the important sights. The seating area is upstairs and very cosy, in a pub-like way. Sitting by the window you can watch the traffic go by. The menu offers a variety of breakfast and lunch options, and there are also good looking pastries to choose from. In addition to all the usual coffee offers, the café has a long list of additional syrups, some of them on the unusual side, if you feel like trying something new. The porridge was nice and came in a fun ramekin. And the flat white was too - however, it was significantly spilled onto the saucer when it arrived. I'd have brought it up with the waitress but she didn't look to be in the mood to put up with it. I give her the benefit of the doubt that she just had an off day, but in terms of service I wasn't impressed. Despite that, I'd still come back for lunch or to try a pastry!
