The best restaurants

14/03/2026: After flights canceled.. Rebooked have to change to 2 layovers almost missing my prepaid guided tour. Having nothing because the airport lost my luggage..ON MY BIRTHDAY mind you... All my preparations for my birthday dinner.. New outfit new camera all clothes toiletries etc.. Lost and all I get is a shrug.. oh well..I was a bit bummed... Then I check in to Clontarf!!!! This guy was AMAZING!!! He wasn't only kind at check in. He was thoughtful. He brought me Prucecco and chocolates.. and even a toothbrush and tooth paste kit.. You sir saved the day!! Thank you so much for just being kind!!

27/09/2025: They are taking advantage of the fact that they have no competition, and the fact that local people have no clue what good sushi actually tastes like. This place would be less than 3 stars anywhere else in the world. In Japan it would be a 1 star. I suspect a lot of their reviews are fake. Charging €23.50 per 8 piece roll of such low quality is just disgusting. Stop taking advantage of clueless people and either increase your quality by about 5x or reduce your prices by 3x.

09/03/2026: Had an absolutely lovely evening for a friend's birthday , friendly service amazing food served piping hot (a table of 10) the place was buzzing. Music as well.

16/02/2026: This is a hidden gem. We wanted an authentic Irish Breakfast before we left town and were not disappointed! The staff and environment are humble but wonderful. A beautiful representation of Irish hospitality on our way out of town.

09/11/2025: The thatched houses are lovely, These houses are made in 1750.

23/10/2025: This site is well worth a journey. It is situated on the highest hill in the area. Therefore, it is quite a climb to see it, but well worth it.

24/03/2026: Great food, every dish was amazingly good. The seafood chowder was delicious, and the chicken box was quite good. Desserts were also very good, from the cheesecake to the crumble.

21/03/2026: I think this restaurant is quite overrated. The vibe is nice and I’d give that 4 stars, but the food and service are only a 2 for me. I ordered the steak in rare, which was recommended to be served rare, but it came out almost well done. The beef was overcooked and dry. Compared to the photos on Instagram, it was quite disappointing — I probably should have sent it back. As for the chicken wings, they weren’t crispy or particularly special. I honestly don’t understand why they’re listed as a customer favourite. I’d also like to comment on the service. I had made a reservation, but was seated in a corner table that I wasn’t happy with. When I asked if I could move, the staff member said the restaurant was fully booked, even though there were empty tables that stayed unused for quite a while. She insisted they were reserved and mentioned that I hadn’t requested a specific table when booking. I didn’t want to argue further, so I just let it go. Overall, while the ambiance is lovely, I believe food quality and service are just as important.

15/02/2026: It’s very small we had six people and they had us sitting around the bar and when we got a table we were not at the same table

25/03/2026: I went for a Birthday. The Brazilian waiters was very kind. The place is nice. Well cleaned. The food is expansive but ok prices if you compare to Ireland. My plate was ok

11/03/2026: Got to come here after work, heard they have the best chicken wings 🍗, and wow they were great. A very traditional Irish Pub 🍻, serving cold beers and hot wings. Definitely had a great night and it was a Habs game. 🍀 Food: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ (was not a big fan of the cesar) Service : ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Price: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Vibes: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Location: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

09/03/2026: Our waitress wasn't good. She never came back to ask us if we wanted refills, I had to ask the gentleman who came to grab our dishes. I also had to ask her 2 times for blue cheese for my chicken wings (which were delicious). We loved the atmosphere regardless of our waitress we will be back. It's a beautiful spot. They pour an amazing pint of Guinness.

03/03/2026: We visited the Franciscan Well with friends over the weekend while they were visiting from the UK. The Brewery tour we booked was interesting and the lady that explained everything to us was really informative (I can't remember her name but she was from Kerry !) The beer samples went down a treat and obviously we ordered a few more pints following the tour...the stout went down very well...!!! There is a great choice of Craft Beers available as well as the Stout.! The Pompeii Pizzas which are freshly made on site, are amazing, and the choice of toppings were very enticing....!! We ordered a mix of different pizzas, and we all said they were some of the best we have had, so fair play to the pizza team there..!! The setting is very nice with a cosy bar inside and a great seating area outside with heaters available for cold days..!! All the staff were very friendly with great customer service all round..!! We highly recommend the Franciscan Well Bar...put this on your list of "must do's" when in Cork...⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

18/06/2025: Great insight into life in a million. We had a terrific guide, Patrick, and it was great to actually get inside the windmills and learn how they worked.

18/06/2025: We had a very pleasant visit to the mills. Our guide was amazing, with a high knowledge of the mills and surroundings. The mills are very well preserved, and landscapes all around are breathtaking. Delicious cakes and cappuccino in the coffee shop
