The best restaurants

12/09/2026: No idea what the food is like, walked in on a saturday afternoon, stood for while no one came near and then took my own seat and waited. Had to get up and ask for menu, sat down and waited another and 10 minutes and got up and left when no came over. All the while there's 5+ staff standing around. I might be missing something. No idea how this restaurant works.

30/08/2026: Great pub only criticism is they serve the pints in the wrong glasses , smithwicks in carlsberg and rocksure despite asking for a a smithwicks glass - staff need more attention to detail

10/07/2026: Both hotel and restaurant are so underrated. I stayed at 6 different hotels while driving through Ireland and this was my favorite accommodation and meal. Had the pleasure of staying in the Orange room. Room was spacious, modernly decorated, and clean. The smart TV with streaming services available was a nice amenity that not a lot of other hotels offered. The breakfast in the mini fridge and the pastries dropped off at night were such a nice touch and so delicious too. Once we arrived, staff guided us to the private parking lot behind the building, helped us settle into our room and fit us into a last minute table at the restaurant. The food was amazing. We ordered from their specials menu and everything tasted so fresh that we devoured all the dishes. I was certainly sad to be just staying for one night as it was the most comfortable stay I had during my trip.

17/06/2026: We enjoyed a wonderful 2 night stay during our trip to Ireland last month. The room was spacious, clean, & well appointed. We had the opportunity to also dine here on our second evening and our meals were delicious - the best of our trip! The staff was so friendly, including the owner Kate who we ran into on a couple occasions during our stay. The bar tender from Africa was our favorite (sorry, I’m awful with names 🤦🏼‍♀️). Cahersiveen is a special town and was the perfect location to enjoy the Skellig Michael landing tour along with so much natural beauty & friendly locals. Highly recommend both staying & dining here!

12/06/2026: Well. What an amazing place. The staff are so hard working. The beer is chilled. The atmosphere is epic. And the food is wonderful. I just had the best curry I’ve ever had and I worked with ghurkas in a former life. I’d give this place 100 stars if I could. Just wonderful.

13/07/2026: This is the second time I've come to the restaurant and the experience was wonderful, just as it was on our first visit.

29/08/2026: The Dungeon is another restaurant at Ashford Castle and a completely different experience from the more formal places. It has the atmosphere of a traditional Irish pub — very relaxed, cozy and absolutely casual. No need to dress up at all, which is actually very nice for a change. The food was really delicious. We ate very well and the service was excellent too. And of course I have to mention the onion rings — my favourite — they were absolutely excellent! 😄 One important thing: definitely book in advance. The restaurant is quite small and there are not many tables, so it can easily be full. We really enjoyed our dinner here. Simple, cozy, very Irish, great service and very good food. Definitely recommend it during your stay at Ashford Castle! Absolutely worth trying, especially if you want a relaxed and casual evening

04/09/2026: Stumbled upon this place randomly but the salmon and chicken curry were amazing!!! So happy with the food 🙏

15/08/2026: Sat down and ordered the rump lamb. 45 minutes later was apologized to about it being late and was offered an appetizer as compensation, with the lamb being ready in 10 minutes. 20 minutes later I got an barely seasoned lamb that was very tough. Not worth €27 at all, the only redeeming thing was the comped wings that ended up being better than the main course itself.

30/08/2026: Terrible, I've rarely eaten so badly. The pizza was soggy and inedible. Not recommended 👎 even one star is too much 👎👎👎

08/05/2026: Lovely Irish Country Inn, really homely and traditional. Fantastic food, so tasty with nice little extra touches.... the food is only surpassed by the brilliantly tentative staff, they couldn't be any better! 👏👏 I have dined here twice and fully intend to return. ☺️

17/09/2026: Great experience for the birthday of our son, staff was super friendly they even sang the happy birthday song and brought a cake, also gave a present to him. How lovely!!

06/09/2026: We came here on Sunday for lunch and ordered two burgers with fries. Honestly, the food was delicious! The fries were fantastic, and I love how focused their menu is—just single or double burgers (with or without cheese) and three types of fries (regular, shoestring fries, or sweet potato). Great quality product at a very reasonable price, complemented by great service. The only downside is the space itself. It’s quite small, and the decor isn’t super cozy, so it doesn't really invite you to linger around after eating. Other than that, really, really good burgers. Highly recommended!
