20/03/2026: This has been consistently the worst food in the area . I keep making the mistake after 20+ years of trying again to come here for food . Leaving a gap of a couple of years each time - Never again . I just had a Veg stir fry at Cumiskys . And we all know how simple it is to make a veg stir fry right !? What I had a couple of hours ago was a disgrace . The rice was hard and the veg was horrible . Chewy broccoli that was obviously re heated and ultimately unsatisfactory. It was just crap . The price ! €17 €22 with chicken !!!! Crazy . The lady serving me was lovely . All the staff are really nice . But this food just always lets the place down . I’m done . There are plenty of options in the area that are much better quality . Oh and when I pointed out how bad the veg was - ( and it was all on the plate to see ) the chef said - that’s how we do veg here at Cumiskys ! Well good luck with that . I hope this helps any visitors to the area .

20/09/2025: Arrived late and we were looked after very well by reception staff. Rooms were spacious and very comfortable. Impressive reception area. Overall hotel left a very good impression particularly in relation to staff and management.

20/08/2025: My family and I stayed here for one night for my sister’s wedding. The wedding was beautiful and the food was delicious. The room we stayed in was huge and had 3 beds for my family of 6. I was especially happy with the service and kindness of the general manager, Owen, who helped us when we checked out. My husband’s wedding ring fell into a sewer in the parking lot (thanks to my son lol) and the manager came to not only give us tools, but he stuck his entire bare arm down that sewer and got the ring back. We offered him a tip because that’s what we do where we live but he kindly refused it and put it back into my baby’s stroller. Very kind man!

21/03/2026: We’re just passing by, and decided to stop for a food, was the best choice we’ve made! The food is delicious, many options for Vegetarian/Vegan, highly recommend!

18/03/2026: Celebrated my 47th birthday at The Monread and had a lovely time. The atmosphere was lively and welcoming, and the food was great with generous portions and delicious desserts. A special thanks to Sandra who brought out my birthday dessert and even sang Happy Birthday, which made the celebration extra special. Daniel was also very friendly when he brought the bill. Would definitely come back. 🎂

15/03/2026: Bald man with the beard at the bar was extremely rude to us but all the reviews seem to say that about him we are weekly customers in fowlers. Food is good and all other members of staff are nice. TVs are also absolutely abysmal looks like the football is being played in the 1980s

30/09/2025: This place is a good option to stay near Galway, the room is fine, nothing special very simple and require some basic renovation, our stay was pleasant but for what we payed we probably could find something much better and closer to town. The best here is the restaurant and the staff, even if didn't have dinner due it was fully booked the night we stayed, we had breakfast there next day and it was really good. Parking is small but enough, we had to wait for a while to be able to park but is included with no extra cost which is fine.

15/12/2025: Very busy, sites briefly for a table! Coffee was ok. Food was very good great popular choices, loads of extras. Hollandaise was a bit of a missed, not bad but not great! Eggs were spot on! €40 for 2 people!

14/11/2025: Food is top notch and streets ahead of other coffee shops. Service is always prompt and always quality. Place is busy all day, and for good reason

27/09/2025: Have to say this food blew me away, we got the veggie breakfast burrito and avocado toast and oh my days it was AMAZING the staff in the cafe are fab really nice kids who are doing an amazing job whoever owns this place should be proud I’ll be coming here a lot more often now
