The best restaurants

17/08/2026: Lovely spot for a bit of food. If you're looking to avoid the traffic of Newbridge then this place is ideal. Free customer parking and food is always delicious. Staff very friendly and toilets were spotlessly clean, highly recommended.

12/08/2026: what a fab stop we had in motorhome ! food was fantastic! friendly helpful staff ( don’t order too much , big portions ) lovely quiet spot in carpark , couldn’t fault it in any way 😁

19/09/2026: My go to takeaway. The food is good and tastes very fresh and healthy. I especially recommend crispy chilli chicken! The starters are a bit expensive in my opinion. The service is usually efficient (approximately forty minutes for delivery, living two kilometres away).

04/06/2026: I can't say enough about our experience at Silken Thomas. The owners are clearly treating their staff well, because it shows in how the staff treat the clients. Everyone from Reception, to the Bar, to the Restaurant (for both dinner and breakfast), to the person who showed us to our room, had a smile on their face and looked happy to be there. We felt well taken care of and everything we ate was delicious. We both loved the location and the recent redo, especially the shower. Special shout out to the lovely room cleaners and management who went the extra-mile to not only reach out to me to let me know I'd left a t-shirt behind on the bed, but also posted it to me in Dublin. My offer to reimburse them for the postage fell on deaf ears. The t-shirt has an illustration of a dearly departed pet on it and means an enormous amount to me, so I'll never forget Silken Thomas's kindness. Aces from top to bottom.

05/09/2026: Starting with the positives: the service was fantastic. The waiters were very friendly and attentive, and the tiramisu is genuinely one of the best I’ve had in Cork. And honestly, that’s about as far as the positives go for me. The food itself is perfectly fine — I’d describe it as average. There are definitely better Italian restaurants in Cork, but there’s nothing particularly wrong with the food either. What really put me off, and ultimately means we won’t be coming back, is the restaurant itself. It is unbelievably noisy. I assume this is partly because they have squeezed an enormous number of tables into a very small space, with barely any room between them. I have no idea what the maximum capacity of that little room is, but when you’re sitting beside the counter, you can practically hear conversations from people sitting by the windows. Of course, it becomes a vicious cycle: because the background noise is already so loud, everyone has to speak louder and louder just to hear the person sitting opposite them, which makes the whole place even noisier. I actually left with a mild headache from the noise. Because of this, the atmosphere was completely lost for me. It’s difficult to relax and enjoy your meal when you feel like you have to shout across the table. Overall, the service and tiramisu were excellent, and the food was perfectly acceptable, but the noise level completely ruined the experience for us. Unfortunately, it’s not somewhere we would return to.

27/08/2026: Wow!! What a find Da Mirco Restaurant was! We were visiting Cork for a few days to celebrate our Ruby Wedding Anniversary and wanted somewhere to eat on our first evening, after a little research Da Mirco was the stand out choice and having now experienced personally, can categorically say that all the great reviews are totally justified! We had an absolutely wonderful evening, fabulous atmosphere in the restaurant, very busy but due to it's compact size still felt very homely and welcoming. The menu had a varied choice which took us some time to choose because everything sounded delicious........and it was! We shared a starter of Monkfish tails which were cooked to perfection and was one of those plates that you don't want to end! Followed this with two superb main courses, I went for pork loin, my wife had seafood pasta, both absolutely delicious! Finished the meal with a perfect Tiramisu. Coupling this meal with a nice choice of wine and being served by lovely friendly staff, made this whole evening one wich will remain fondly in our memory for a very long time. Thanks! PS.......If Hannah, our terrific server gets to see this review, please tell her we went for the infinity tattoos........she'll know what we mean, ha ha! :-)

26/08/2026: I'm going to say the Pad Grapow Gai tastes better than on the streets of Korat. I was passing by and said I'd try and wow I wasn't disappointed. The food was incredible and the staff were so friendly. I got to try out my Thai language skills too which made the experience even better. 5 stars. I will be back

04/08/2026: Went for a 9:40 breakfast on a Tuesday and was pleasantly surprised. The place is small and a little down at heel (tables could do with a clean) but we got a friendly welcome and a delicious cooked breakfast. Great value for money and quick service.
