28/06/2026: Very disappointing Saturday evening meal. The seafood special was tiny, poorly presented and lacked flavour. The battered fish and chips were equally disappointing – heavy, bland batter, tasteless fish and a dried-up sliver of lemon. Service was no better. After waiting around 10 minutes to order in a quiet bar, I was told to “slow down” while ordering and warned the kitchen “might be closed.” Later when requesting an additional side. Overall, poor food, poor service and poor value. Based on our experience, the quality simply didn’t match the excellent reviews. Unfortunately, we wouldn’t return.

18/07/2026: It's okay... the setting is very nice. The staff are friendly enough but girl who served my wife and I was a bit grumpy, maybe just a bad day. Weirdest thing - my wife ordered "Irish sea trout" only to be given salmon. When we raised this with waitress she simply said "oh that's what it's called on the menu". In what world is that a normal thing to do? To call salmon, trout? And then for her to shrug her shoulders as if it's our problem. Maybe let people know their trout is actually salmon, or better yet rename it on the menu. Have asked 10 people about this and they are all as shocked as we were. Bizzare behaviour, I wonder what else they call one thing and it's actually another.

25/07/2026: When we visited during the day it was reasonably quiet but absolutely jam packed at night with great entertainment.

13/07/2026: We went on an Irish protest event and you couldn't move inside this bar it was so packed. But still quick service and a fun place with live music.

31/07/2026: I'm sorry, but the welcome was truly one of the worst I've ever received. And I wasn't singled out, as the waitress was giving everyone the cold shoulder. She refused to show me the price on the terminal. I'm very disappointed because, given the reviews, I was expecting something else entirely. I gave it two stars because I genuinely think this waitress ruined my experience, and this pub must be fantastic under normal circumstances.

24/07/2026: Brought my three kids for breakfast. The staff were so lovely and accommodating, the food was lovely. I had a gorgeous breakfast bap & coffee and the best part was it was really reasonable & affordable.

29/07/2026: We came here for the selection of gluten-free options (they offer sandwiches except the sausage one, a burger, and the nacho con carne). The food is good; I recommend the bacon sandwich for pidding, and the gluten-free bread was also excellent in both texture and flavor. The atmosphere is very nice and informal, and the service is friendly and fast. Recommended for those looking for an alternative to the classic burger.

26/06/2026: Bagels were great, coffee was yummy and they were very kind to my 1 year old son and offered him toys while we had breakfast. We had a big order and they double checked it and it came out fast. We loved it!

17/06/2026: It was great to have a bacon egg and cheese on an everything bagel, in Ireland! Delicious. We were very excited to try this Cafe and we were incredibly happy we did (even though we aren't Boston Red Socks fans) Everyone was very friendly. I highly recommend a visit here.

28/07/2026: Excellent breakfast, perhaps the best after eight days in Ireland. Everything was excellent: the cappuccinos, the blueberry muffins, the banana bread. The place is small but cozy, and the staff is very friendly.

22/07/2026: We had a fantastic experience at Friends Bistro during our recent trip to Ireland. Although we arrived without a reservation, the staff could not have been more welcoming or accommodating. Their food and wine recommendations were excellent, and everything we ordered was outstanding. The warm hospitality made the evening especially memorable. We highly recommend Friends Bistro and cannot wait to visit again.

03/01/2026: love all the vegan options and the scrambled tofu wrap is so yum! there is extremely limited space of seats inside though, even if it's really cold you gotta sit outside or takeway
