Son of a Bun
Cork
13/10/2025: Burgers are top notch and the fried pickles cured my hangover
12/10/2025: I'll keep this one quick. 5 Stars all around, fast, friendly and delicious. First night of our 8 day trip around Ireland and the hotel front desk raved about Son of a Bun. They were not wrong, we didn't need anything fancy, just good vibes and tasty burger and prefect fries to go along. When in Cork get the double patty with cheese!

The Red Kettle
Wexford
20/08/2025: Excellent and tasty breakfast for reasonable prices. Definitely worth a visit once in Wexford.
03/08/2025: When we visit Wexford always have lunch here. Lovely food particularly their great choice of salads and friendly helpful staff and owner. No problem adding or substitung salad items. Reasonable prices too. My friend had problems with her back and they brought a chair with cushions for her as outdoor seating wasn't suitable for her. Looking forward to our next visit.

Blueberry Tea Room
Donegal
13/09/2025: Very busy, but the service is fantastic and more friendly. The coffee and food (we had lunch) were delicious, I recommend it!
11/09/2025: They have vegetarian options. They look for you to get a place. This way you definitively get a place, but it’s a little bit loud

Wharton's Traditional Fish & Chips
19/09/2025: The sign beside the counter reads "Good Food is not Fast Food", a subtle way of saying hold your horses, it's going to be worth the wait.
I only got Fish and Chips; with mushy peas and tartare sauce.
The fish had a lovely crispy batter, with very tasty, flaky fish within.
And it's no wonder Ryan's was voted Best Chips in Munster. They're crispy and tasty - many other establishments should take note. Double or triple dipped, perhaps?
All in, there was enough in one serving to share, and both of us were very adequately fed.
We'll be calling again, as it was a very worthwhile detour.
08/09/2025: Was in ennis the last 2 weeks playing for scotland in the pool world championships, went to ryans twice,it was excellent both times, staff was amazing and the ower even took us back to the hotel, fantastic chipper and people.

05/10/2025: Try and get a seat in the back bar, it's not always open! Great staff and service, and most importantly grest Guinness. They do the 0% Guinness as well!
03/10/2025: Kevin and Micky were amazing! Super friendly and made us feel like family. The bar itself was warm and inviting. Loved it!

Green Straw
Swords
24/10/2025: One of the best places to have breakfast in Swords! I’ve been here many times ,the breakfast is amazing, and the staff are really nice and welcoming.
23/10/2025: The staff were unreal. Smiley faces and super efficient. The food was perfect in flavour and portion sizes and the Pistachio Croissant was like something I've never had! Would return just for that!! Highly recommend and will definitely be back.

BAR 1661
Dublin
21/10/2025: My friends and came here tonight to have a few drinks and we were immediately greeted with suspicion… we’re American studying abroad in London and visiting Dublin on our break from university. We presented our IDs and the woman who asked us asked us very hesitantly how we know each other and we told her. She left and then came back and told us (very politely) we had to leave because our IDs looked fake. We’re two 21 year olds and a 20 year old. Our IDs are very real. We aren’t sure if it’s because people can’t seem to find the birthdate on American IDs or if it’s because they all looked different (we’re from different states). But either way, if you have an American ID you may want to look elsewhere.
20/10/2025: The most masterfully crafted cocktails!! Our server, Shane, was absolutely delightful. He gave recommendations that surprised us with their great flavor!

Groundstate Coffee
Dublin
23/07/2025: Came Back and Still Impressed!
I've been to Groundstate Coffee twice now, and both times were genuinely good. The mushy toasty and the pastrami sandwich are definitely worth trying - fresh, tasty, and filling without being heavy. Their flat white is smooth and well made, and the chai latte was also really nice.
The atmosphere is relaxed but still has a bit of character, and both times the staff were friendly and welcoming, which makes a big difference. It's a great spot if you want a solid breakfast and a proper coffee without any fuss.
Happy I found this place - I'll definitely keep coming back when I'm in the area.
22/07/2025: Have to say Groundstate has the best filter coffee in Dublin 8! Super fruity and really really tasty. Super knowledgeable and friendly staff and with an epic coffee knowledge! Would 100% recommend this place if you love tasty coffee!

Foxy John's
An daingean
08/09/2025: Great pub! We stopped in for a cider and had a lovely time. Fun that it's a hardware shop/pub combination and service was fantastic.
05/09/2025: Really good local pub. the Interior is awesome. Mix of locals and tourists but I would say it was more on the former when we were there (5:30ish).
Definitely recommend this place

Thai Baan Cafe
Dublin
26/09/2025: A small restaurant with delicious food.
I miss such good cuisine in many places in Thailand.
I recommend it. It's delicious.
19/09/2025: Wow, just got a takeaway from here, chicken pad krapow. Really nice and authentic taste, proper Thai herbs, sauce, as I remember it from my holiday in Thailand. Will make sure to order from or visit this place again. Looking forward to trying the other dishes! What a nice discovery, much better than the quasi-Thai but actually Chinese place around the corner! Try and support proper real Thai food here, folks!

Devitts
Dublin
16/09/2025: We went with a group of friends. It was a bit crowded and cramped; I don't know if it's like this every day. There was live music when we went. The atmosphere and drinks were okay, and the prices were reasonable.
16/09/2025: Had lunch here and really enjoyed the experience. Service was quick — our food arrived in just about 9 minutes, which is impressive for a busy pub. The portions were generous: crispy fish, a big side of chips, fresh salad, and the pint of Guinness was perfect.
The fish was a little on the oily side, but honestly that seems to be the style everywhere I’ve had fish and chips in Ireland, so nothing unusual. Overall, the atmosphere was welcoming, the food was satisfying, and it’s a solid spot if you want a proper pub meal without waiting ages.

The Forge Coffee & Market Store
Castleisland
15/09/2025: Amazing cafe - fantastic food and coffee, great atmosphere and nice staff. Highly recommend.
09/09/2025: I had a day off work today and decided to literally have a "day off" from cooking also. Where to eat was then the topic for discussion. My number 1 venue today for lunch was The Forge in Castleisland. The round trip was 66km but it was without doubt worth it. I look forward to our next visit

Quay West
Donegal
17/09/2025: very tasty food and big portions. i ate the haddock, it was tender, the batter was crispy. under the piece on top, there was a smaller one under it. i changed the chips to black garlic and parmesan fries
16/09/2025: I was suffering with a bit of a cold when I visited Quayside and Jo was the most perfect host.
Hot toddies were followed by the most wholesome, tasty food i've had in a long while and I left the restaurant feeling much better than i entered.
Thanks a million, Jo, you'll be my first stop when back in Donegal x
