The best restaurants

13/12/2025: Very welcoming , clean and cozy! Food was tasty .

02/11/2025: I received an email the day before our arrival saying check in from 2 pm. When we arrived at 2.30 the place was shut. I had to ring and got a chef/cook to open the side door. When entering the hotel the man asked my name and said oh yea you are in room —- he showed us where it was and that was our check in 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️ the hotel is about 20 km from the nearest town. When we went back that evening to have a drink in bar that’s when we were told what time breakfast was at 8.45-9.30. The staff were all lovely and very accommodating but I just didn’t expect the hotel to be as far out of the way from everything. The breakfast was lovely but didn’t get a choice was asked did we want full breakfast and that’s what we got. This hotel would suit walkers or bikers but not really a family holiday. We had booked in for two nights but only stayed one!

17/12/2025: We went, cuz a friend recommended us and was really good. The coffee was delicious, difficult to find a good one (coffee) here in Galway. And the food was delicious and generous quantities!! The stuff was friendly and helpful, the place was really busy at that time… We will come back!! ✨

09/12/2025: We Had lunch here today, ordered Turkey sandwich on rye bread with side of chips, my partner had burger with salad and chips...Turkey was fried , oil clearly visible and meat was chewy and tasteless, my partner's burger was bland, neither justified price charged.The coffees were good but at €4.10.each totally overpriced. Ate here on number of occasions in past, always loved it...today was not a good experience, will not be returning, staff disinterested, no atmosphere whatsover. A pity, as I always loved this spot!

20/12/2025: A lot of space. Good for gathering. Quite enough to talk. Matcha was alright.

19/12/2025: Going here for breakfast (served till 11:45 daily) for two years now, weekly. Amazing food good atmosphere. BUT today——- I arrived at 11:47 and was greeted with “ sorry two minutes late for breakfast “ TWO MINUTES LATE. Well it’s time to find a new place for breakfast…. Thanks!!

05/05/2026: A good experience. The indian food was very tasty with a nice spicy kick, just how we like it. The service was friendly and welcoming. There was also a great jamession of Irish trad. music.

31/05/2026: Been there twice and it is a nice place to hang out with a friend or to chill with a book. Not overpriced, nice staff. It is super small though, meaning you might not find a spot easily

17/05/2026: Tea advertised on wall as €3, but we were charged €3.80. Also a bad smell was coming out of the bathrooms, which wasn’t pleasant as we were seated right outside the bathroom door. Nice location and decor, but otherwise lacking.

06/04/2026: Okay so we went in all fine got a nice lovely clean table before we went I looked at the reviews before hand and some people where saying staff aren’t the best I thought oh that’s probably a one time thing we had to get our own menu and we had to politely ask a server to serve us he didn’t even ask about drinks he went straight to food he later came back and asked for drinks we where sat there for 40 minutes waiting for our food before hand I spilt a little coke and no one had checked in on us the coke had dried into the table by the time we got our food we had to rush eat it the food was decent the pizza I got was very nice not freezer pizza I would say this place is nice if ur not in a rush and ur willing to give up half your day

29/03/2026: Compliments to the chef .beautiful roast beef dinner .and it's was hot .really enjoyed.

19/04/2026: Passed by it for years and finally decided to "Drop Inn". Staff were so friendly and accommodating- food was delicious, hot & fresh, promptly served Will definitely be returning 👌🏻

01/06/2026: Great bar. Early morning, evening or night time Joe's is always hopping. Old man himself no longer working but the son is doing a great job in running the place.

07/06/2026: The milkshake was delicious, and the french fries with chicken and mayonnaise were also very good. I ate until my lips were sticky! I highly recommend it to you!

24/05/2026: I really liked this place. At first, I thought a crispy kebab sounded like a strange idea, but after trying it, I completely changed my mind. For those who don’t know, it’s a kebab wrapped in a fried crispy layer. Surprisingly, everything holds together really well, and the crispiness adds an amazing flavor. I totally recommend trying the crispy kebab. You definitely will not regret about it!

08/04/2026: A must visit or stay when in Birr. The Stables has an excellent cafe and gift shop

20/03/2026: Was here with friends for lunch, it was so relaxing with friendly staff. I had panni coffee and delicious individual lemon meringue pie. Highly recommend.

22/10/2025: Stopped in for a quick Irish coffee, stayed for a couple pints after that. Nice cozy spot. Bartenders friendly and welcoming- even when it gets very busy :)

07/07/2025: Spent a few days in the apartment upstairs the staff couldn’t be more warm and friendly made us welcome from the first visit the Guinness is first class will definitely be going back 🇨🇮🇨🇮
