27/07/2026: Beautiful gardens to spend an hour or two. Maybe get a bite to eat in the lovely cafe. Free entry to the gardens and carpark. Great playground for the kids and plenty of open spaces to enjoy. Lovely views of the sea also. An afternoon well spent.
26/07/2026: This is a great public park on the south side of Balbriggan. Great walks and children's playground. Nice cafe and beautiful rose garden. 👍😊💙🇮🇪

Arundels By The Pier
Ahakista
18/07/2026: Fantastic mussels and incredible views. Staff were warm and welcoming, all the food was delicious and great drinks selection. Thoroughly recommended!
09/07/2026: I think this is my third review of Arundel's By the Pier and it just gets better every time.
The weather was fantastic so we had some pre lunch drinks on the benches across the road looking out on an amazing view of Dunmanus Bay.
The fishing boats were coming and going from the pier. People were swimming in the sea before having their lunch.
The restaurant was really busy with visitors, locals and a large group of cyclists. The welcome by staff was so good and the service was excellent.
Nothing was too much trouble for the staff.
The reataurant was really busy inside downstairs, upstairs, outside and across the road but the standard of food and the service was exceptional.
This time I was with my girlfriend and we had the most delicious dish of calamari with some special spices on the outside.
So tender and melt in your mouth flavours.
The light dipping sauce had so many levels of taste!!! WOW. Sweet, sour, spicy, heat, herb!!
I would love to know the recipe?
We also shared the open crab platter served on a really good homemade brown bread with a crunchy crust on it.
A dark colour, malty flavour and perfect texture. Not too crumbly.
The serving of crab meat was extremely generous and was perfectly dressed.
Not too much interference with the magnificent crab meat flavour.
It had large chunks of crab meat interspersed with the smaller crab meat pieces which made it a real seafood treat.
A serving of salad/home made coleslaw on the side made the overall meal very satisfying. 10 out of 10.
The value for money was incredibly.
In my opinion both dishes would beat many evening dinner servings in highly rated restaurants in Baltimore, Bantry or Skibbereen.

Oarsman
Carrick-on-shannon
14/07/2026: This was a great dining experience but you would need to book as it filled up very quickly. Table service was excellent and the food was beautifully presented. The floor staff were excellent and constantly topped up your water glass. Would definitely return again

Hooked
Galway
12/07/2026: Very fresh fish and fair prices. Very friendly staff.
12/07/2026: Horrible Service experience ever!
We came in with three kids 2-11 years old.
She told us she's having one table left for 1,5 hours which we agreed on.
I directly mentioned the wish to order already the kids dish with our soup as a starter and asked if the fish which is served is fresh wild caught quality? She didn't know? We asked if she can ask the kitchen team...while she was "trying" figuring out (which kinda ruined her mood!)...we ended up with the decision to have no starters instead getting all plates together just to speed things up, we repeated that wish and got it confirmed from her side.
She couldn't figure out our question but told us they have only farmed fish, which was confusing because the online description says quite the opposite, so we told her we choosed the local because of the online description which tells people that they are offering fresh wild caught fish she was over acting (we have been very friendly and that was just a normal question not more or less...I don't expect that she or the team has the knowledge about everything because she could be new, the chef wasn't doing the fish order by himself or he was just not in the house whatever!) "she's only the waitress that's what's the kitchen told her" because of her "aggression sound" I apologized and tried to explain her "I was just wondering and that was just a question?!" Her sound switched calmer again and she started explaining that actually no one knows if the fish is wild or not! Again that was all fine with us...because with three kids seated and waiting for food you're fine with everything what comes...but sadly nothing came for the kids. We got our soup after 25 min waiting (and the soup was excellent best seafood chowder ever) but we have been still waiting for the kids dish after 10 min (we've been ignored) we decided to share it with the kids, which loved the soup and wanted to have their own on top. Finally she was showing up again
we asked her: "the kids dishes are coming right?"
Waitress:"Yes"
We: "we would order another one of those soups"
Waitress: "Fine"
After 15min the soup showed (no spoon for the kids, not once a question if everything is alright...ignored again, gave already the kids a used spoon) up but still not the plate which we order to share for the youngest a two year old which was already starting to cry because she was so hungry and frustrated. Asking again the waitress where the food is? She explained that the dishes taking their time in the kitchen and we have to understand that! No apology/sorry...nothing...crazy!!!! So after a bit more than one whole hour our little one got something to eat with an apology from another waitress (and finally some cutlery as well!)...the waitress which served the rest of our food was super lovely...and the food was supercalifragilisticexpialidocious!
I prefer to share the good also I was working as a waitress for 20 years by myself and had a team under my fingers with a lot of newbie's ect (first rule if something wents wrong "SORRY"!).
So the second waitress and the kitchen deserves full points and I hope the other waitress learns something because our restaurant experience in total was still sadly terrible... to see and hear our little one starving and crying ect, everyone from us was really upset in this restaurant situation and that's not what you want. Mistakes happen to all of us and that's all fine...at least you can say sorry, or offer a lil treat for the kid (whatever!). One last point if you're coming with kids and maybe you have to wait a bit longer...I was so glad that we packed some pencils and coloring books by ourselves because that's something we've been missing here as well.
Stars only because I know we had bad luck and the food was so good also the other waitress was friendly to us!

Brú Lab
Letterkenny
28/07/2026: Really delicious coffee. The halloumi brioche was also outstanding.
25/07/2026: No marshmallows for hot chocolate, cappuchino in a flat white sized cup and tasted more like a flat white. Also no chocolate for the top. Coffee tasted nice but much stronger than a regular cappuchino. Didn't have food.

19/07/2026: An absolutely beautiful environment. The ideal traditional pub experience in Dublin.
17/07/2026: There is no food served here and there are no TV’s. Not sure about music. It’s a place to go to for either a chat with mates or time on your own. Great pint of G here. Class Irish pub.

25/10/2025: My group and I loved the food, drinks, and the atmosphere. The people who work here are a JOY. We loved the happy vibes. Breakfast was filling and the lattes were great. Employees went above and beyond offering extra things to make our experience the best.
24/10/2025: During my stay in Dublin I had breakfast here twice since I loved the first one so much.
Staff is super friendly and the food is really tasty. I had the bagel with salmon twice, I loved it and still think about it.

Smokin Bones
Dublin
03/08/2026: Amazing!! If you're in Dublin and don't know where to eat, stop by SMOKIN BONES, they offer several truly excellent dishes at reasonable prices! 5 stars, well deserved!! 😎👍👍👍
21/07/2026: Corn ribs and pork belly starters were outstanding! Really surprised by both, the rub on the corn ribs was delicious!! It started off the meal on a great note. I had the ranch salad, slightly disappointed by this the mozzarella wasn't mozzarella typically put in a salad more grated mozzarella and the lettuce had been washed to remove dressing which left the leaves wet. However, the ribs my partner had were delicious and his onion ring and fries sides were tasty. Great service with an attentive waiter and quick food, would definitely return and recommend.

Bastion Kitchen
Athlone
02/08/2026: A must-visit. A friendly, family atmosphere, lovingly handcrafted products, and a welcoming charm ❤️
01/08/2026: Couldn't have picked a better breakfast stop on the way to Galway! We both had the smashed avocado toast with poached eggs and sausage, washed down with lattes (one regular, one oat—because balance 😂).
Everything was fresh, delicious, and disappeared suspiciously quickly. The staff were cheerful, friendly, and made us feel really welcome from the moment we walked in.
If you're passing through Athlone and need breakfast that'll make you seriously consider ordering a second round, Bastion Kitchen is well worth the stop. We'll definitely be back!

Windsor Bar & Restaurant
Dundalk
14/06/2026: We walked in the restaurant based on great reviews here on Google Maps. We were travelling from Canada. Service wasnt good. Lacking eye contact. It felt awkward so we didnt order another round. We just got up and left. We stayed at many places and had a great trip but this restaurant made us feel awkward or outcasts. I dont know what it was but it was weird. The meal was excellent though.
10/06/2026: I was delighted to be part of a group from Dundalk Food & Drink that visited The Windsor at the end of May, when we were treated to a showcase of the best food that the restaurant has to offer. I enjoyed my choice of a starter of chicken & mushroom risotto, followed by a tasty (and generous) hake tempura with saffron sauce. Marieta Rías Baixas Albariño 2024 and Segredos de São Miguel Alentejano 2023 were the wines on offer. A warm welcome and excellent service added greatly to our visit. 👏👏👏 to all the staff!
