The best restaurants

22/05/2025: The 13 course tasting was the finest dining experience of my life.

18/05/2025: I could now describe how good the food and the pairing wines were. But many people have already described that here before me. So I'll try a different image: it was our first evening in Dublin and we talked about this evening at every subsequent dinner in Dublin. And in a good way. The evening was definitely a highlight of our holiday. The restaurant is on the ‘reasons for another Dublin holiday’ list. We were seated at the Chef's Table and were lucky enough to be served each course with a short introduction from the chefs. We were also able to watch the hustle and bustle in the kitchen. It was very impressive to see how well-rehearsed the team is in such a small space. And any problems that arose were solved without any shouting, you could only tell by the serious whispering. Without wishing to diminish the other courses, two courses have remained very clearly in my memory. One is the foie gras. I am generally a huge fan of foie gras. I almost always order it when it's on the menu. But it's not always good. The one served here immediately made it into my top 2. The other is a variation slightly flavoured with coffee and chocolate. To be able to decide which one is the best, I would have to taste them side by side. However, there are a few hundred kilometres between the restaruants. But the mere fact that I'm thinking about knocking my long-term favourite off the throne is a statement. The second course is the pretzel. And I have to say right away that I may be German, but I'm not Bavarian. So the pretzel itself is not a staple food for me. Nevertheless, pretzels and pretzel pastries are also ubiquitous in the Ruhr region. The Seeded Pretzel was not only delicious, but exactly as it should be: crispy on the outside but nice and soft on the inside. The Obatzda served with it was not a ‘must be served with something’ side dish but was perfectly balanced with the smoked cheese and enhanced the pretzel even more. But I've probably already written far too much, so I'll stop here. Long story short: definitely visit!

23/04/2025: A great pub with a lot of heart and charm. We felt very comfortable and welcome here. The different types of beer and a selection of cocktails invite you to linger while listening to the best music. I will definitely come back here on my next visit to Dublin.

29/05/2025: The Organic chai was one of the best chai teas I have had. Spiced very nicely. My other half had the pourover which the one at the time was very nice.

26/05/2025: This is the best coffee I’ve had in Ireland. Also a cute shop with a Nordic-Japanese vibe. Seating outside and upstairs.

15/06/2025: Amazing place and awesome bartenders! Went here multiple times during our long weekend in Dublin. Was introduced to a great stout there.

07/06/2025: A very unique place, with excellent food, very friendly service and a wonderful atmospehre. It is definitely worth going there. A reservation is advaisable.

04/06/2025: Had an amazing meal at this stylish Irish restaurant. The food really stood out — I tried the haddock poached in milk with onions and cheesy mash, and it was pure comfort food in the best way. Would 100% come back!

13/05/2025: Loved it. The food and service were very good, and the music was based in Depeche Mode.

31/05/2025: Delicious food and great attentive service. Good value for two people and a half bottle of wine at less than €70. Not as many veggie options as you might expect from Middle Eastern cuisine (the options were mezze style rather than mains) but we still had plenty to eat.

26/05/2025: I had a fantastic experience at Mad Youlk! The food was absolutely delicious — was full of flavor and perfectly prepared. From the moment I walked in, everything was spot on. The atmosphere was welcoming, and the staff were friendly. I’ll definitely be coming back!

25/05/2025: Fresh, fresh, fresh! Happy to find Sunday breakfast cafe open early near my hostel. Seems to have a neighborhood feeling in a commercial area. People lined up at the door, says it all. Fast service, fair prices, lively environment. I have seen it on Too Good to Go app. Yum.

16/04/2025: The soup was really nice and the decor of the place is quite cute, great variety of deserts. The half sandwich with fries and soup was really worth it.

07/04/2025: The food here is really good. A very good breakfast with lovely roasted potatoes. Had lunch once really good homemade food. Very friendly staff.

09/06/2025: We had very good fish and chips. Friendly, attentive service. The ambiance was also good. However, we were lucky to get a table. Reservations are recommended.

07/06/2025: Menu with standard dishes but well made, with medium-high quality. Friendly staff and willing to give advice. We spent approximately € 25.00 per person

03/06/2025: Unreal night out. Both the Irish Night and Cabaret shows are highly entertaining. Excellent for all levels of English ability.

04/05/2025: We visited the Town Hall on April 29th. We found the staff to be so helpful and friendly and the food was excellent. Special mention must go to staff members Natayla and Ainé for their outstanding warm and friendly service. We had family home from Australia and the were blown away by standard of care and service we received on what was a busy evening in the restaurant. We would certainly be recommending the Town Hall at Old Ground hotel to anyone visiting Ennis.
