03/05/2025: Excellent, the coconut chili mussels dish is killer... The mussels are local and super well cooked. The staff is very pleasant and welcoming although the restaurant is crowded.

01/05/2025: Been coming to Clifden for 30 years and first time in Guy's. Absolutely fantastic. Chowder excellent. Great music. Guinness Perfect. Staff friendly and professional. Looking forward to coming here for the next 30 years!

30/05/2025: Beer selection is solid but heavily international imports. The bearded bartender is the absolute worst person I’ve ever had the utter displeasure of interacting with. We walked in as it opened and asked for recs, excited to try local Irish beers and he immediately dismissed our question, marking the start of a horrible experience. Every question we asked regarding the beers, with curiosity, seeking to understand more about the local scene, was met with disgust. Very disappointing experience.

04/05/2025: Love their salads and choices, very healthy and not greasy food, vegetarian options mostly but have some sandwiches with meat as well, can recommend for sure!

16/04/2025: Conseguí el yogur de bayas y rollo de salchicha y estaba delicioso, muy sabroso, la comida era de buena calidad, y el lugar tenía un ambiente frío. El personal era amable y sabía sus cosas. Allí el café es de clase también. Volveré enseguida.

10/05/2025: A Birthday to Remember at MacNean’s – Pure Magic My sister and I recently celebrated our birthday at MacNean Restaurant in Blacklion, and we can genuinely say it was one of the most special dining experiences we’ve ever had. From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel incredibly welcome. The whole atmosphere exudes quiet elegance — relaxed, warm, and full of charm. Every detail, from the décor to the perfectly timed service, reflects a place that knows exactly what it’s doing. The staff were exceptional — professional yet friendly, and it’s clear they genuinely enjoy being part of something special. And of course, the highlight was meeting Neven himself, who took the time to personally stop by every table. That thoughtful touch meant so much and made the evening feel even more intimate and memorable. Now, the food — simply out of this world. Each dish was beautifully presented, full of flavour, and perfectly portioned so you never felt overwhelmed, just continuously delighted. It was a journey of wonderful course after course, every one a highlight in its own right. MacNean’s is more than just a restaurant — it’s an experience. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a truly special place to celebrate, or just to indulge in the very best of Irish hospitality and cuisine.

06/05/2025: We noticed that there seemed to be a lack of staff engagement as if there was something bothering the staff members. The lead server's attitude was unfriendly and of limited engagement. Food was good but only good and not fantastic as experienced on a previous visit. Not sure the entire visit merited the price tbh which was a pity as we would have been big fans

11/05/2025: Booked a 2 night stay at The Helm Apartments on booking.com. It was a great stay, well equipped apartment, less than 5 min drive to downtown Westport or 15-20 min walk. Upon arrival for check-in the staff helped us to our apartment, was very friendly and ensured we had everything before leaving (baby cot). The free breakfast in the morning was fantastic. Parking is just across the street and was only a couple euros for 24 hours. We also had dinner at TheHelm one night, big portions and good food, you must make reservations at it’s a very very busy pub. We will be back and will recommend TheHelm to others when visiting Westport.

25/05/2025: Astoundingly good. Superb dining experience, staff are excellent and the food is exceptional. This is not a place to go for ‘ordinary’ food, it is really fine dining done very well. Small wine selection but perfectly chosen to match the food. An unexpected gem of a restaurant which we will return to. Brilliant, well done.

28/04/2025: I have come her twice recently for a family dinner and both times, the experience has been fantastic. The standard of food is unbelievably high, and during my last visit, I ate the best meal the I've had all year. The staff are incredibly professional. This is a fine dining experience right on your doorstep, and not to be missed.

26/05/2025: Tuvimos una experiencia encantadora aquí de principio a fin. El personal de camareros era encantador amable eficiente, te hizo sentir bienvenido, así que fue un buen comienzo para una noche muy agradable. Tuvimos entrantes principales una copa de vino y cócteles de postre y conseguimos una pizza Takeawey para mi hija que estaba en un concierto en el 3 olympia. No podría faltar nada. recomendaría encarecidamente este encantador pequeño lugar. . acogedor con comida de primera categoría. .

12/05/2025: Food and service top class. Pork Belly starter just melted in the mouth, Main courses I had the featherblade of beer and it was as nice as I have ever had, My wife had the Seabass and it was exceptional, Will definitely be back.

10/06/2025: Our Bed and Breakfast host recommended this place to us and, wow, I didn't expect "pub food" to have such amazing seafood dishes! The food was beautifully plated and delicious. My only sadness was that we could not finish the metric ton of mashed potatos they give you :)

07/06/2025: I work as a delivery courier for Just Eat and had an order from this restaurant. I waited 40 minutes for the order. When I asked how much longer it would take, the server first just said ‘sorry’ — which doesn’t really help. The second time I asked, she told me I could leave the order and go, and that I shouldn’t come back, speaking to me in a rude and irritated tone. I find this attitude completely unprofessional and unacceptable. Since I’m paid per delivery, not by the hour, I simply can’t afford to wait that long.”
