14/11/2025: The place is lovely, I like how they have seasonal decorations, it really brightens up the village. The coffee and pastry’s are lovely and the staff are very welcoming and lovely to chat with. I like getting my coffee, they have a lot of range and you can ask for more. Glad they are getting to celebrate their 6th year opening here’s hoping for another successful six years.

06/03/2026: By far the best Eddie Rockets I have been to. Always love to come here with my family. Amazing food, great quality, always fresh and extremely tasty. The entire Staff is super nice and doing an amazing job. Keep up the fantastic work.

19/02/2026: Very disappointed with my experience. Starters. Very poor bread board. And muscles that were extremely bland. Iv had better from boil in a bag. We ordered two 16oz rib eyes that were terrible. not prepared as if they came straight from a fridge and onto a skillet. Not let rest to room temperature (Example).. the mash had a slight skin develop on it. That was hot on outside and warm inside I suspect it was left under the heat lamps too long. Unfortunately the most Palatable item on the table was the Garlic butter and glass of coke… very unfortunate as previous visit have been fantastic. When a server asked us did we enjoy are meal we had no choice to express are disappoint. We then sat for some time waiting on are bill. We were presented with two deserts. We did not order as a token of the poor meal. We declined them. And where kindly discounted are starters and cokes x2. The server was very nice and friendly not his fault and done his best. I will have to strongly think about going back as everyone has an off day but for the money and cost was definitely not worth it.

30/01/2026: Disappointing experience. While I was at the nail salon next door getting my nails done, my daughter who is 2,5 years old needed to use the bathroom. The staff at the nail salon told me that they share a restroom with the café and that I could go there. The café was about to close but still had staff inside. I knocked on the door while standing there with my two children, and a staff member looked at me through the window but didn’t open the door or ask if I needed help. It felt very rude and dismissive. I wouldn’t knock on a closed business for no reason—especially with young children. A little basic kindness and communication would have gone a long way.

07/11/2025: Situated in the center on the corner of North Main Street this bar is a nice upmarket establishment with a cosy atmosphere. The staff were friendly, the drinks cold and the toilets spotless.

05/11/2025: Great service, very attentive. The double fried fries were great, however the smaller ones were hard to chew. Ribs spot on. Can be a bit dark in certain areas

19/03/2026: Killeen House Hotel was a wonderful surprise. It is a beautiful hotel with really nice and helpful staff, the rooms are very tidy and the beds are very very confortable. You can bring your pet with you and you get some free treats, a ball, a bowl and a blanket for your furry friend. The food in the bar and restaurant was also a very pleasant surprise. We had both a dinner and a breakfast in the hotel and both were very good, fresh and well made. The fish and chips especially was outstanding. You have WI-FI in all rooms, which works very well and the TVs are smart so you have access to the various services - Youtube, Netflix etc. For a hotel that is pet friendly, I found the room to be very clean, there wasn't any strange smell or any indication that other pets were in the room previously. You are allowed to take your dog anywhere in the hotel except for the restaurant so if you want to get some dinner or any food while also bringing the dog with you, you'll do so in the bar area. The location of the hotel is also very good - you are less than 10 minutes away (driving) from Killarney city center, 15-20 minutes away from Muckross House and Torc Waterfall and about 7 minutes away from a supermarket (Lidl) in case you need to do some quick shopping. There is only one negative I can say about this hotel based on my experience - The bathrooms NEED a refresh. This is a personal opinion but the 2 faucet setup (for cold and hot water) is outdated and just plain inconvenient. Also, bathrooms are in need of a handheld shower. I was disappointed to see that there is only a fixed showerhead option in the bathroom.

18/03/2026: Just back from a beautiful stay in the kileen house hotel I can't recommend this hotel enough .The staff are excellent from the 2 ladies at reception to Derek the manager nothing was to much very pleasant to chat to and so welcoming the rooms are very spacious and spotlessly clean as was the rest of the hotel will definitely be back in the near future

25/01/2026: Authentic cosy vibes with a diverse menu. My portion size was a little small but my wife's was ample so I guess it depends on what you order. Our bill was a (now reasonable) €40 for 2 people for drinks and food with tip.

07/01/2026: Hands down the best cafe I have ever eaten in that consistently serves delicious, fresh, high quality food suitable for vegetarians, vegans and those that enjoy meat. The staff are all so friendly and helpful and provide a first class service. This cafe is a must visit.

28/08/2025: Excellent restaurant with a very friendly owner. We tried the salmon, duck, and coconut curry chicken, all very well prepared. The desserts were excellent! The interior is very traditional. The restrooms were very clean. Top-notch!

14/11/2025: We landed by accident at the Parkgate Coffee. It was the best coffee I had so far in Ireland. This place could be in London. The Coffee was just amazing!

19/03/2026: Visited Lakeside Manor today, lovely location and food was brilliant. Although the place is beautiful the staff lets this place down unfortunately. We had a lovely waiter at the start and then a woman continued the service for the rest of the evening. We asked for drinks, she could not have been any more rude and we felt uncomfortable from her responses. We were given no cutlery or basic condiments. When we asked for some, we were walked away from with no acknowledgement. As people who work in hospitality we thought this response was absurd and it put a damper to our evening. We will still return as it’s a lovely spot and the food is great, however this could be worked on for future reference.
