15/09/2026: My cousin brought us to eat here after a pretty long day of travelling from England. The atmosphere was warm and inviting. The service fantastic. It’s no surprise that the restaurant has a reputation for good quality home cooked food. The food and drink are fairly priced. The staff were very attentive and provided colouring in books for our toddler. Great kids menu. The view from the restaurant is fantastic with a panorama of Tralee bay.

02/09/2026: Unfortunately, our impression of The Tankard Bar and Restaurant was ruined by the service. At first, everything was going well: we ordered food and drinks and were happy with our experience. Later, we decided to place an additional order and have another lobster. One of the waiters asked us to follow him so that the lobster could be weighed. While we were away from the table, another member of staff started clearing away our cocktails and food, even though we had not finished and were planning to continue our meal. What was even more unpleasant was that she touched the inside of our glasses with her fingers. When we asked her not to clear anything because we were staying and placing another order, the same glasses were put back on the table. After that, especially because of the situation with the glasses and the hygiene concerns, we completely lost the desire to stay. For a restaurant of this level, this kind of service and attitude towards hygiene is unacceptable. Unfortunately, after this experience, we would not want to return to The Tankard Bar and Restaurant.

15/07/2026: The food here is absolutely delicious - genuinely the nicest you will get in Mullingar - my go to is the avocado smash on sourdough toast with bacon! It is just so delicious 🤤 V happy customer - have been sharing rave reviews with my friends and family - highly recommend!! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

28/06/2026: Visited on a Sunday around lunchtime for a quiet pint. I ordered two at the bar, watched the bartender pull them, and waited while they settled — only to then be told I couldn't be served because of my trousers. No issue at the door, no warning when I ordered. The decision to enforce a dress code policy after the pints were already pulled is poor customer service, plain and simple. If a dress code is in place, customers should be informed on entry — not after they've been kept waiting at the bar. Won't be returning.

29/08/2026: Overall, a pretty good restaurant experience. The environment is clean and quiet, suitable for dining with friends. 🍣 Sushi Platter: The variety was quite good. This time I had crab sticks, avocado, salmon, and a refreshing vegetarian option. The rice was just right, not too hard or too soft, and the overall flavor was light and not greasy. The combination of salmon and avocado added a nice depth to the dish. 🍜 Singapore Noodles: Very fragrant with a hint of curry flavor, and the toppings were plentiful. It was a delicious and easy-to-eat dish. 💁‍♀️ Service: The staff were very friendly, and the food came out quickly. Overall, a very comfortable experience. 📌Summary: A Japanese restaurant with consistently good food and refreshing flavors, suitable for everyday meals or small gatherings with friends. I would definitely come back.

23/08/2026: All of the food we ordered here was delicious and surprisingly big portions. We got sushi, ramen and fried chicken and everyone loved it.

11/10/2025: As a Uruguayan, I really appreciate a good steak — and **Tomahawk Steakhouse** absolutely delivered. I loved sitting at the counter with the **grill right in front of me**, watching the chefs at work while enjoying an **excellent Italian wine**. The meat was perfectly cooked, full of flavor, and the whole experience felt authentic and warm. A truly **outstanding dining experience** — can’t wait to go back! 🥩🍷🔥

25/09/2025: Mind-Blowing Quality—Worth Every Penny! We are from Switzerland, a place where steak is already incredible, but this restaurant truly blew us away! The meat was absolutely fantastic—a cut above. We ordered the Delmonico and the fillet steak, and both were utterly perfect. The service was impeccable, and the wine selection was equally impressive. This is a genuinely high-end establishment with high end prices prices that are completely justified by the outstanding quality delivered. Nice flair and good service and vibes. Deserves the full five stars!

05/07/2026: Attended a wedding reception at the Brass Onion in July 2026. The starter was a nice light salad. The main course of Chicken was superb. The wedding cake was of Brazilian origin and luscious. I simply cannot recommend the Brass Onion enough. My compliments to staff for a fantastic meal.
