Boathouse Restaurant

Killybegs
12/10/2025: Had a fantastic meal here on the 4th of October. The service was second to none. The food was delicious. If you love fish this is the place to be amazed. We had a spiced carrot soup as starter, fabulous. Mains were all different types of fish. They were all delicious. I could not rate this restaurant highly enough. We had American friends with us and they said it was the best fish dishes they ever had.
15/09/2025: Went for fish dishes, disappointed in their seafood platter portions, and one of our table had the monk fish,.... overcooked... tough., suggest you book your table for front section as middle section very noisy.

Ananda

Dublin
24/09/2025: My recent visit to Ananda left my taste buds dancing with joy, yet the experience was tinged with a sense of dissatisfaction due to an unexpected service charge. Let me delve into the delightful culinary journey and the less savory aspect of my dining experience. The food at Ananda was nothing short of amazing. We indulged in a spread that included their heavenly kofta, rich Daal Makahani, and fragrant biryani. Each dish was a symphony of flavors, perfectly balanced and expertly crafted. The kofta, with its melt-in-your-mouth texture and savory sauce, was a standout. The Daal Makahani had a comforting, creamy richness that paired flawlessly with fluffy naan. And the biryani, with its aromatic spices and tender meat, was a celebration of traditional Indian cuisine. However, the joy of the meal was overshadowed by the restaurant's decision to impose a 13% service fee. It seemed unjustified to charge such a fee without offering a commensurate level of service. In contrast, I've dined at Michelin-starred restaurants like Rasam in Dublin, where such forced or guilt-driven charges are noticeably absent, allowing the focus to remain solely on the culinary experience.
22/09/2025: Very nice restaurant. Friendly staff and great food.

Cronin's

Crosshaven
16/10/2025: Travelled from Australia through England, Croatia and Ireland. Whilst in Cork we drove to Crosshaven to check out the harbour and boats. Thirsty for a pint we stumbled into Cronin’s Pub. We ended up having a few creamy pints and the best fish’n’chips we’ve had on our trip. The staff were brilliant, the pub was warm and cozy with its visiting sailor stories and good old fashioned pub vibe. Would highly recommend a detour to Cronin’s Pub in Crosshaven Cork. Cheers
25/09/2025: Nice pub, good food, helpful bar staff. Does get very busy but at least you can sit outside in good weather.

JJ O'Malleys

Westport
12/10/2025: Lovely restaurant in Westport. Staff were nice though very busy! Low light, classic moody pub atmosphere. Classic Irish / pub music. Nice lighting and decor made it even better atmosphere. Food was very good - kids menu had mac n cheese for our 5yr old. We had chicken burger and tuna melt- both very good. Beer tasty as usual. Highly recommend.
08/10/2025: What a spot! Visited with my brother and his wife mid September. We booked in for dinner in the upstairs area. When we arrived the place was all a buzz. There was a live band playing. We went upstairs for our food. We were seated in booth style seating. But instead of being squashed in on banquette seating, we were sat on regular comfortable chairs at a nice wide table and there was plenty of room for everyone. The food was amazing. Everything was so delicious and presented beautifully. We shared three starters between us, then had our own mains. For starters we had a terrine(can't remember what kind, but was excellent), scallops on black pudding(perfectly cooked scallops, delicious) and prawns in a mouth watering chilli sauce(this was the star of the show). We asked for a spoon to finish the chilli sauce. Then for mains I had a huge pot of muscles and the others both had fish pie. My muscles where very plentiful and delicious. The others throughly enjoy their pies. Oh we also had a side of parmesan fries, yum yum. The staff were very attentive and efficient. Big shout out to Elisha amazing. We were too full for sweet so headed down stairs for drinks and to listen to the music. Fantastic night.

Shells Cafe

Strandhill
10/10/2025: The music was way to loud and the pork sandwich had more fat in it than pork. So very expensive for that..but if the music was lowered down it would be more ideal
10/10/2025: Shells is always our favorite spot in the Strand. We haven't been for a while since we moved to the SouthEast and they've done it up since last, but still the same great feel. Bustling on a Thursday afternoon, jammed lunchtime, which is a credit to any place these days. This was a ' for old time's sakes ' visit and still felt just as good as the memories.
