22/07/2026: A very charming family business with excellent quality and friendly service. Definitely recommended in Castledermot – well worth a detour! We came to Castledermot from Duckett Grove to see the Roundtower and the Abbey.

25/07/2026: **Very unprofessional service.** We were told to finish our food within 15 minutes because they were about to close. The staff also told us that all the other restaurants would be closed, so we wouldn't be able to find anywhere else to eat. We felt rushed throughout our meal, which made the experience very unpleasant. Better customer service and communication would have made a big difference.

21/07/2026: We had a wonderful dinner at the Silver Oak. The food was absolutely delicious, and the service was exceptionally friendly and attentive. We felt very welcome and thoroughly enjoyed our evening. We would definitely recommend this restaurant and would love to come back!

11/07/2026: Ordered from Pink Salt for first time tonight selected delivery and was said it would be 55 mins. However after over an hour and fifty mins food arrived with no apology, after ringing restaurant at the hour thirty mark to be told food out over 15 mins!!! Won’t be rushing back if this is service live less than 8 mins away by car at a minimum. Food was average after all the hype we heard, not withstanding the fact tepid after being out for delivery so long!

15/06/2026: We looked at the reviews online before we booked the restuarant. With reviews of 4.5/5 on average we went ahead and booked. What a disappointment, decor dated, food average, portions small (apart from the naan bread) and set menu was way overpriced. For dessert we had ice cream and there were lumps of ice in it. Definitely will not be back.

22/06/2026: I tried to play golf with my GF, having booked 2 lessons slots and after showing up at the golf shop, we were told that we must be at the wrong place and the employee sent us to another golf club on the other side of Portmarnock. There, we were told that there is no way we're at the right place and were sent back to the golf shop. The employee was very unprofessional and demeaning, looking at us like we were crazy to think that we could play golf when we had our bookings confirmed. We tried to make the most of a bad situation, but the employee was very unaccommodating and acting like he was better than anyone else. We only wanted to play golf at a place where we had our time slots booked and confirmed. The employee did not feel bad for them having such a deceitful and scammy golf booking system. I felt bad after my interaction with the employee, that we wasted our time and money going there, and how our date was ruined because of it.

19/05/2026: A good reminder that the rankings of hotels are based on facilities available, not actual quality or service. Both (both!!) pram lifts were out of order making navigating the hotel with a pram very difficult. Staff did not help with luggage or baby pram. There is no dedicated greeter for breakfast so everybody who comes down just waits aimlessly until somebody notices them Every so often you'll notice chipped paint, worn carpet, stained cutlery or other signs of low maintenance. (€260 per night by the way). The shower is a cramped prefabricated plastic installation. Portmarnock hotel is one that survives on the reputation of the golf course, but outside of that legacy there is much better value and better luxury guest experiences you can get for your money in Ireland, and in Dublin.

17/06/2026: This Hotel was absolutely outstanding, in a class of it's own. Seriously to die for. The rooms are beautiful set out. The restaurant with as the oak furniture was so tastefully decorated, it's own little coffee shop. The staff were a pleasure to be around. The Highlands Hotel just kept giving and giving. The food was outstanding, my favourite meal there was the mussels in a tomato and herb sauce. The bar manager Tuffer (Christopher) was superb add to to the organisation, a very knowledgeable chap who knows how to run a bar with ease. I would visit the Highlands in a heartbeat and will be going again soon, very soon. Glenties the town is a biscuit tin town. Idyllic with the most beautiful views that stop you in your tracks to take it all in. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

01/07/2026: Had a great lunch here after visiting the Rock of Cashel. My wife is a big liver pate fan, and loved it. I had the Beef Blaa and enjoyed it. Would highly recommend this place.

01/07/2026: Delicious food. I wish it were open after 5PM. The cafe opens at 10AM. I wish it were open earlier because the food is simply the best.

21/07/2026: Chipeen is exactly what you expect from a dedicated chips hole in the wall. If I lived nearby, I'd be in trouble.

18/07/2026: A unique spot that sells only fresh chips! They chop the potatoes right in front of you and fry them fresh to order. No frozen chips here, and you can absolutely taste the difference! Even the Galway seagulls can't stay away! 🐦😄 Highly recommend!

11/06/2026: We had a wonderful visit to the Langstons Hotel last summer. The Hotel was beautiful, it was quiet, and the rooms were very stately. The staff was very friendly and helped us with whatever we needed. The location is perfect because it is walkable and you are right down the street from everything. We would definitely stay here again!

03/06/2026: We were asked in advance to provide all credit card details for all guests (4 rooms) again via an email link – I strictly refused. Apparently, there was a new payment system! When paying on-site, one transaction supposedly didn't go through, so we had to repeat it. Now one room has been paid for twice, and they say both payments have been refunded. We haven't received a refund and have been arguing for two weeks because we haven't gotten our overpayment back. Complaining through Booking.com is proving impossible; their support is equally useless.

09/07/2026: The croissants here are absolutely amazing, this café is a must-visit. Every item on the menu is perfectly made and incredibly delicious. Along with the white chocolate croissant and their freshly baked cookies, the hot chocolate is an absolute must-try. Highly recommended!

14/07/2026: Unbelievable spot, great atmosphere and unreal food. the staff were great, really friendly and helpful. service was quick and overall reasonably priced. Can see why it’s on the Michelin guide. Cocktails were lethal.

12/07/2026: Amazing experience, the food was amazing and we loved the tapas style dining as the food just kept coming. The fried mantao dessert was my favourite, and if you’re planning on getting cocktails then you won’t be disappointed by their interesting cocktail menu! Staff was also super helpful and kind!
