The best restaurants

03/08/2025: Food – OK. Not above average. Service – in my experience, it's quite mixed. We sat outside with our pet dog and that wad fine. The order taker was exceedingly polite and efficient but that's where it ended. Afterwards, a separate server brought our food after a very long time and when I ordered a dessert with coffee, the latter was delivered to my table in whip smart time bur without the dessert. Now, it's always considerate to allow for other demands on server and waiting staff, so I waited and waited and continued with the tedium as my coffee grew increasingly cold. Eventually I left my table to approach one of the servers and explained my situation in the politest manner I could muster. In jig time my dessert arrived with a gratis coffee. And in an instant it was abundantly clear that the dessert was pre-prepared, meaning that there was no real excuse for the discounted delivery of my dessert order with coffee. I'm not concerned with their logic for operating like such save to to say that as a customer I really felt poorly served throughout the whole experience. Would I return – definitely not. Would I recommend the Buttery – definitely not if you want reasonable service. As a rider – I observed that during my visit, service and attention was preferentially focused on tables occupied by tourists, non-nationals and the like. That's not good enough.

30/07/2025: So good. Food , service, atmosphere all top notch. We had 4 different dishes all excellent served with a smile. Really impressed.

02/08/2025: This was our first time in Ireland and the experience was phenomenal. Friendliness and hospitality is second nature to this hotel. The staff, despite the many demands from the residents, were always attentive, empathetic, and prompt in attending to us. A special shoutout to Rohan who works in In-House Dining who took very good care of us in our week+ visit. His hospitality, friendliness, and professionalism brought a warmth that was truly unmatched. At this point, Ireland/The Marker Hotel feels like a 2nd home for sure. I will definitely first check for availability at this hotel the next time I visit (which is definitely going to happen). Thank you to Anantara, the staff, Rohan, and the kind people of Ireland

02/08/2025: Everything is great about this hotel. I can’t find anything to complain about. The room service is phenomenal!! Especially Rohan, he made sure to attend to our every needs and was very attentive. The amenities were beautiful !! The message and pool services were so relaxing. The room is so clean and hygienic. Everything about this hotel is gorgeous. The staff are so helpful as well

22/07/2025: This restaurant is a hidden jewel! Fantastic food, very generous portions and very friendly and helpful staff. We were a family of 5, there was colouring paper and crayons for the kids and our food was served in a timely manner. The dessert list is one of the most impressive I have seen in a long time and there was something for everyone. What really impressed me was the low sugar/diabetic alternative, which is something you don't see that often in restaurants. 5 🌟👏👏

11/08/2025: We've been in Ireland for seven days, and it was the best meal yet. After a good walk, we found this place a bit out of the city center, and it was a great choice. The mussels were spectacular, and the other dishes were also very good. Highly recommended if you're passing through Howth.

07/08/2025: Great place! Good service and friendly staff! 1st time in we had the Beef Brisket Bnedict from Brunch menu and it was beautiful!! Second time, I got the fish and chips and my partner got the eggs bnedict, which is now his favourite in town! :) Probably our must to go place when in Howth! A big round of applause to the chef! 👏🏽👏🏽 Update: came back to the place a few times after the 1st visit. Tbh whenever I go to Howth I end up getting food there. Food and service always wonderful. Last visit took my parents visiting me all the way from Brazil and they also enjoyed the food.

19/08/2025: A traditional Irish restaurant where you can enjoy traditional Irish food at a good price and very tasty. The fish and chips were spectacular, as were some meat stews, such as beef with Guinness beer or a typical sausage stew with mashed potatoes, peas, and brown sauce.

05/08/2025: Excellent beagles for breakfast, the sr. that works there really friendly mate. The Chai Tea Latte and the caramel latte were so good as well

24/07/2025: It was a great feel and the food was just like back home! Even the bourbon BBQ sauce for the bourbon burger. I got a 10oz ribeye medium and it was cooked perfectly to temp. I asked for a sear and they didn’t get that part thought. We also had the kids ribs. My 8yo was sad it only came with 2 ribs. We got the sampler as a meal plate and split it. The only thing lacking was service. We are water drinkers and couldn’t get them to keep our water full. We had to ask several times for each refill. It didn’t make sense. One of the waitresses was also snippy with me. Maybe it was just a long day but it was off putting. Service was a 3/5. We’d definitely go back for some Texas food!

17/07/2025: First time I've been to Texas Steakout but will definitely be back. Food was good, service excellent and we had a great evening.

21/08/2025: We stopped for lunch during our visit to Enniscorthy and it was a great success. Good food at a reasonable price and a very friendly waitress. Highly recommended!

16/08/2025: I came to visit my brother and his family from the Netherlands and yesterday we visited this establishment, we really liked it, a very cozy establishment, good presentation of dishes and delicious.

12/08/2025: I made a reservation online and unfortunately I made a mistake and it was not confirmed. The effort was immediately reflected on the credit card which I showed to the person in charge. She turned us away with a smile. In my country, because hospitality is considered quite important, I would have expected her to have made an effort to serve us. It doesn't matter. All I can say right away is that the shop, being quite small and claustrophobic, black in color, had a stifling atmosphere with a strong smell of roast meat. You leave smoky. Maybe the food compensates. I won't know. Be well. -"Comment to the owner's response" - Dear, the one star is for your behavior and the stifling atmosphere. Not for food that I didn't have the "honor" to try. I mentioned it anyway. The fact that you respond regardless of what I write and insult me on top of that shows who you are. I attended today with a group of 5 people for dinner. I did not deprive you of money. I had heard the best things about your restaurant. You summarily kicked us out. I showed the Visa charge that seemed to indicate that there had been an attempt on my part to make a reservation. Instead, there was no attempt on your part to provide service. Be well and I have indeed learned my lesson... Again, I wish you the best!

20/08/2025: We needed four meals to takeaway, two of which had to be vegan and one vegetarian. There was no issue ordering vegan versions. All four of us thoroughly enjoyed our meals. The sauces were delicious, the vegetables beautifully al dente, the meat tender and flavoursome, and spicy was just the right amount of spicy. The rice was not sticky, not too dry. The re-usable containers are great and will be used again, and again. The price was very reasonable (ca €50 for 4 mains). The ordering process was uncomplicated, the waiting time was just right, the staff member we dealt with was friendly and helpful. We will definitely visit again the next time we visit Ballina.

13/08/2025: This Nepalese restaurant is one of the best I’ve ever been to. I ordered dish number 32 — I don’t remember exactly what it was, but it was perfectly spicy and very tasty. The place is nice and the staff is friendly. I recommend it!

29/07/2025: Very disappointed , we weren’t informed that , the restaurant have 2 extra charges , in top of what’s is consume ! Then at the end of the meal , when the bill was provided we end up having no choice , but , having to pay 12.5% for service , and as well extra vat , this end up been a extra 150€ on the original bill ! I really thought we should had been informed from those before start eating.

29/07/2025: So when I saw those ribs I went over to their mobile bbq unit in Bray on Sunday and I have to say I was very disappointed in my experience ! I was hoping for a decent choice smoked beef but that didn't really do it for me

16/07/2025: Really cute place. Food was filling and didn't make me feel crummy. Posting to say I had to eat my words, "they have a brownie that looks dry as dirt, if I'm being honest..." NOPE. It was delicious. Everything we had was great, especially the soup.

13/07/2025: Stayed at aloft and came here each morning for breakfast. Super fresh bread, tomatoes, eggs. Very friendly service. Got a sourdough cinnamon roll for the flight home, and it was phenomenal. Skip the hotel breakfast and come here! They also have outdoor seating, which was nice.

08/08/2025: Authentic flavours, generous portions, and excellent service. Best Indian food in Donegal by far.

04/08/2025: Perfectly spiced, great variety, and excellent value. Curry Cottage is the best Indian restaurant in Donegal, no doubt!
