12/08/2025: Testé en famille au hasard de la route. Les plats sont très bons et copieux et il y a un menu enfant. Les serveurs étaient très gentils et efficaces.

12/07/2025: Nice place for food, but one bad thing for it was the kitchen was wide open and the extractor fans weren't working properly because we were being smoked out of it.

13/08/2025: A Let-Down on a Special Occasion – Would Not Recommend We stayed at this Connemara coast hotel for my wife’s birthday, expecting something special. Sadly, it was anything but. The biggest disappointment: we had arranged, by phone 2 days before the check in, breakfast in bed as a surprise for her birthday. It simply never arrived. I called the reception asking for the breakfast, at the time we were really frustrated, We received just a shrug and a weak excuse. For a place that markets itself as “luxury,” this was completely unacceptable. To make matters worse, the room had zero sound insulation. We could hear everything from the room next door also the kid on the next room was trying to open our door, conversations, doors banging, even someone coughing through the night. It felt more like a cheap hostel than a relaxing getaway. Connemara is stunning, but this hotel didn’t live up to the setting. Poor service, poor sleep, and a ruined birthday surprise. We won’t be coming back.

17/08/2025: Just waited a few minutes to be seated. Great burger but service can be better, I was never asked if everything was okay by the staff. Felt a bit forgotten alone at my table. Plus, the restaurant is very noisy (big groups, children, loud music).

16/06/2025: We stayed here on Saturday night. Rooms are lovely, quaint and cosy but very clean and well maintained. Shower was excellent. Beautiful old house with fabulous gardens but you can still walk to town. Breakfast was superb, everything was hot and service was attentive. A bit hard to locate a receptionist but we weren’t in a hurry and they were so pleasant when we did.

17/08/2025: We stopped to have dinner, it was fabulous, the service, wine and dinner was excellent. I highly recommend the teriyaki stir-fry ( I had it with prawns) it was delicious.

03/08/2025: Just popped in on our way back from Carlow around 5.30pm and enjoyed the Beef special and Collette had the fish & chips Cod special,both were excellent 👌

08/08/2025: A great restaurant, well located on the side of a road, easy to park. The waitresses were very pleasant and the meal was plentiful and very good. The service was fairly quick. For 4, with a beer and a cider, it costs 95 euros. Very reasonable. I recommend it.

13/07/2025: We went into Stoop Your Head today with our 18-month-old son. We were first through the door but were ushered straight to the outdoor patio. I’m not sure why we couldn’t be seated in the main restaurant — unless it was because of the buggy, which we were happy to leave to one side as directed by staff. We didn’t have a reservation, but it was hard to believe the entire indoor area was fully booked. The first table we were offered didn’t allow for a seat for our son, as it required a strap-on seat to a regular chair — something I’ve never come across before. I’ve certainly never been to a restaurant that didn’t have proper highchairs. We asked if we could move to an adjacent table and were told yes, as long as we were gone by 2:45. We then waited another ten minutes for a seat for our son. When it arrived, it was absolutely appalling — crusted with dirt and black with grime. I have genuinely never seen anything so unhygienic offered for a child. As loyal customers who’ve always loved this place and recommended it to family and friends, we were so disappointed by today’s experience. We left immediately after complaining about their lack of hygiene. We won’t be back.

29/06/2025: I could not recommend Tea and tones highly enough. From the moment you step inside, the cosy atmosphere and friendly staff make you feel right at home. And the FOOD is to die for.What really sets it apart, is how welcoming they are to families, taking my 2 young girls there has never been of any problem. The staff always welcome you with a smile. If you're in the area, Tea and Tones is an absolute must, you won't be disappointed.
