05/12/2025: The smell alone should qualify as a health hazard... I don’t know what’s happened to Grogans, but the place absolutely reeks. The second you walk in, you’re hit with a wall of stale sweat, old beer, and something that can only be described as wet dog meets forgotten mop bucket. It’s like they’ve made “smell of neglect” part of the décor. The floors are sticky, the tables feel like they haven’t been properly cleaned since the Celtic Tiger, and the whole place gives off the vibe of a pub that gave up decades ago. Even the pints taste like they’ve absorbed the atmosphere, which is not a compliment. There are plenty of great pubs in Dublin. This is not one of them. Unless you enjoy smelling like a defeated brewery for the rest of the day, avoid.

15/08/2025: The best part of this experience was our waitress, Filo. She was extremely attentive and engaged in pleasant conversation while serving us. Thank you so much, and I hope there are more people like her.

18/11/2025: I arrived very late at 9.45pm, so did not know if food was still being served. The waitress checked with the kitchen and we were in buisness. Within 15 minutes I had a shepards pie and a pint of Smithwicks in front of me. Heaven. Athmosphere was lively with nice background music. Food and Service was excellent. Now I must find Smyths pub which is down the road somewhere.

01/12/2025: Maybe the most amazing place in all of Ireland but certainly Dalkey Village! Had surf and turf (x2), beet salad, arancini, and desserts. Nothing was less than excellent. A complicated service held together nicely by the hostess. Even if this place didn’t have great food, the service and atmosphere would carry the day. Reminded me of my favorite neighborhood places in New Orleans. Thanks for the lovely food and great service.

16/11/2025: BEST DINNER IN KILLARNEY!!! John Cronin has service down to a master class- our server Helen was excellent. Started w/ seafood chowder…..a top 10 for this foodie. Chicken Supreme and Shepherds Pie are comfort food perfection. THIS is a no miss restaurant-

18/11/2025: Went to Paulie’s Pizza and the food really delivered. The place itself was a bit chaotic, busy energy everywhere, but honestly once the food landed on the table, all of that faded into the background. The pizza was genuinely tasty, and that’s what matters most. A solid spot if you’re after great flavour and don’t mind a lively atmosphere.

16/11/2025: We’ve only had takeaway from here, but the service has always been quick and efficient. There’s a great selection of pizzas and everything we’ve tried has been delicious. The staff are friendly and helpful, even when it’s busy. The place is clearly very popular, and whenever we’ve passed by, the restaurant looks lively. Tables turn over quickly, and when people sit outside, they even offer blankets - great touch. The prices are very reasonable for fresh, high-quality pizza. Based on our takeaway experiences, and how consistently busy the restaurant is, it definitely is worth a visit.
