31/05/2026: We enjoyed breakfast this morning at this lovely cafe. The service and food were fantastic. The pancakes were my favorite!

04/06/2026: Super dog friendly both in accommodation and dining/bar areas. Food, drinks, staff and cleanliness were all amazing. Only note is a dressing table would be a great addition to the bedroom.

03/06/2026: Understaffed during a Monday evening, so they had to work very hard, but did so, to their credit, with smiles on their faces. The fish and chips and burger were very good. We stayed here on recommendation and because of that didn't do our normal research, regretfully not reading the Salty Dog's small print so were surprised when told they did not serve breakfasts on Mondays and Tuesdays and the pub was completely closed on Wednesdays and Thursdays. Location is great if you want to visit Ballycotton, however I recommend you do so on a weekend. On Mondays and Tuesdays everywhere else in the village is shut. Our room was pretty small and hot in the unexpected May warmth - which, I guess, we shouldn't complain about. The noise from the air conditioner outside the window was intrusive and sadly this unit was not for the room... On the plus side the room had a great view of the lighthouse. To summarise: good place for a pub meal meal but less so to stay. Addition: we checked out after only 1 of the 3 nights we booked and to their credit they have refunded us.

09/06/2026: We went there for lunch and everything was great! I was glad they had seating available right away and e everything we ordered came in very generous portions and was very good!

09/06/2026: Well worth the walk up the hill! Food is so good and fresh. The chowder is probably the best I have ever had. Service is great and would highly recommend

10/06/2026: I did a Barista Essentials 1 day course and I only have to thank Mike for the fantastic class he provided. His explanation was clear and precise, the content presented was exactly what was described and he was very kind during the entire course. He gave us tips and showed us his way of being a barista, which was valuable for everyone. In the end of the day I was able to prepare my own latte with an art, thanks to the encouragement I received. Honestly a great experience and I'm very satisfied with the results.

19/12/2025: Ordered online some small amount of goods — they were carefully wrapped and arrived swiftly, with care and warming message and a teabag, really well professionally packed, and the selection & variety of goods is impressive, this is what we need more on earth!

15/12/2025: Ordered a christmas present from them a week ago, one of their nice hammered brass bottles. I got a call this week saying it's not in stock, but they have another type if required. Now I have to go back to my partner and tell them they were getting this present (they mentioned that they loved it) and now it needs to be a different type. Not happy with the service.

02/06/2026: The falafel burger is really nice, chips are just the right ratio of crunch to chomp, onion rings were nice BUT were a lil bit skinny inside da batter but that’s ok I still ate them all no bother, overall seriously nice place, can’t wait to bring my pals here

20/05/2026: I just recently tried this place and am sorry I waited so long. Their burgers are delicious but I also enjoyed the falafel sandwich.

30/12/2025: Lovely home made authetic lasagna and accompanying glass of red- would eat here again and recommend for quick and tasty lunch.

04/06/2026: Seafood chowder excellent, but fish dish very missable. Could not even finish my main. Tasteless and drowned in fatty batter. Much better option in town!

04/06/2026: We dropped by on a whim, there were no tables available, but the friendly receptionist called us half an hour later, as arranged, to let us know we had a table. The fish and chips were excellent.

28/03/2026: The atmosphere is great and it had much more space inside that I originally thought. It was a perfect spot to watch a match with my coworkers. Oh and the burgers were GREAT.

30/05/2026: Great lunch, very accomodating staff, strongly recommend their brie filled filo pastry. Not so sure about chicken wings, they were a bit tasteless.

19/05/2026: Number 1 icecream in Dublin. Love the unique flavours. Price is also cheap for the good quality icecream you get. Staff was very welcoming and nice, especially if you've never been there.

02/05/2026: This is a place you’ll want to come back to again and again. If I could give 10 stars, I would—both from me and my husband. The food was absolutely delicious (I had the monkfish, and my husband had the fish and chips). But what really brings you back is the team—so friendly and attentive, they make you feel right at home. The whole place is led by a wonderful owner, Jim, and you can feel it in the atmosphere. It has that warm, old-style Irish hospitality that’s hard to find these days. Thank you for such a great experience. Highly recommended!

11/06/2026: Lovely staff and delicious burger. Vegetarian and vegan options available which is a plus. House sauce is okay. Garlic Aioli is excellent.
